Campgrounds and RV parks near Sharptown, MD

Sharptown sits on the Nanticoke River in Wicomico County on Maryland's Eastern Shore, roughly midway between Salisbury and the Delaware line. The town itself is small, but it functions as a river-access hub: a public boat ramp, waterfront parks, and the tidal Nanticoke River make it a practical base for RV travelers who want water access without the crowds of the Atlantic beaches. Campgrounds in the area split into two groups. Private riverfront parks such as Roaring Point Waterfront Campground and Sandy Hill Family Camp sit directly on the Nanticoke and cater to families with full-service sites, playgrounds, and weekend activities. Woodlawn Camp Ground offers a more traditional inland setup with hookups and pull-through sites. For a state-park option, Martinak State Park on the Choptank River near Denton is the closest developed public campground with electric sites, a dump station, and cabins. Camp Todd, a Scouting property in the Denton area, occasionally hosts group camping.

For public sites, Martinak State Park is reserved through the Maryland Park Service reservation system at parkreservations.maryland.gov, or by phone. The park offers 63 sites in two loops, with 30 sites carrying 30-amp electric hookups; water and sewer hookups are not provided at individual sites, but a dump station and potable water are on site. Cabins and a cottage are also bookable. Private campgrounds handle their own reservations directly. Roaring Point Waterfront Campground and Sandy Hill Family Camp take bookings by phone or through their websites, and both offer seasonal sites in addition to nightly stays. Woodlawn Camp Ground books directly as well. Reserve holiday weekends and any summer Saturday as far ahead as possible.
