Campgrounds and RV parks near Somerset, MA

Somerset sits on the Taunton River in southeastern Massachusetts, just across the water from Fall River and roughly fifteen minutes from Rhode Island. The town itself has no large public campground, but RV renters have several strong options within a short drive, spanning state-run beach and forest parks, private family resorts, and one KOA gateway toward Cape Cod. The closest public option is Massasoit State Park, which offers tent and RV camping in a beautiful forested setting with opportunities for swimming, kayaking, mountain-biking, hiking and fishing. For coastal camping, the 100-site campground at Horseneck Beach State Reservation sits just behind the sand dunes, with the cobblestone beach providing views of Buzzards Bay, access to swimming and surfcasting, and two miles of beach. Private options include Meadowlark RV Park and Canoe River Campground in Mansfield, a family-oriented park with pools, a pond, and full hookups. Renters heading toward the Cape often stage at the Boston / Cape Cod KOA Holiday, which sits within reach of both Providence and the Cape Cod Canal.

The two nearest state parks use the Massachusetts DCR reservation system operated through ReserveAmerica. Reservations can be made up to 4 months prior to your arrival date, and walk-in registrations are not permitted, though advance reservations can be made same day up until 2 pm on the date of arrival. For summer weekends at Horseneck Beach, book as soon as the four-month window opens. Massasoit fills more slowly but weekend electric sites still go early. Private parks such as Canoe River Campground, Meadowlark RV Park, and the Boston / Cape Cod KOA Holiday take reservations directly through their own websites or phone lines, and typically require a deposit at booking.
