Farther south toward Faribault, Roberds Lake anchors two long-running resorts, Roberds Lake Resort and Campgrounds and Winjums Shady Acres Resort, both offering RV sites and cabins on the water. Town and Country Campground and RV Park in Savage rounds out the closer options for travelers who want proximity to Minneapolis-St. Paul.

Popular sites at Fish Lake Acres Campground, Dakotah Meadows RV Park, Town and Country Campground and RV Park, Winjums Shady Acres Resort, and Roberds Lake Resort and Campgrounds should be booked several weeks ahead for summer weekends, and earlier for holiday periods. All campsites in Minnesota state parks and recreation areas require a reservation before they may be occupied, year-round. Reservations can be made the same day as arrival, and up to 120 days before the arrival date, and on that first day reservations cannot be made before 8 a.m. Central Time through the ReserveMN system operated by the Minnesota DNR.
