Sibley State Park near New London anchors the public options west of Melrose, with two drive-in campgrounds, Lakeview on Lake Andrew and Oakridge a short distance inland. Both accept trailers and RVs, and electric hookups are available at most sites.

Minnesota state parks, including Sibley, use the ReserveMN system operated by US eDirect. All campsites are 100 percent reservable, and bookings open 120 days before the arrival date, with the first day of a new window opening at 8 a.m. Central Time. Same-day reservations are also available, and the maximum stay is 14 nights per reservation. A vehicle permit is required in addition to the camping reservation. Private campgrounds around Melrose take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. El Rancho Manana Campground recommends reservations well ahead for summer weekends, and horseback rides are booked separately by reservation. For summer weekends, target state-park sites the day the 120-day window opens and private lake sites several weeks out.
