Campgrounds and RV parks near Milaca, MN

Mille Lacs Lake is the dominant recreational draw, with walleye fishing, boating, and swimming beaches accessible from public landings around the shoreline. The park's Interpretive Center covers about 9,000 years of human activity in this National Historic Landmark District, and Kathio offers campsites of various types, camper cabins, a swimming beach, picnic area, observation tower, and boat accesses onto the Rum River and Shakopee Lake. The park sits at the headwaters of the Rum River, whose slow current makes it ideal for family canoe outings, with rental canoes and kayaks available at the Rum River access area. The Soo Line Trail is a major regional draw for ATV riders, snowmobilers, cyclists, and cross-country skiers. Grand Casino Mille Lacs is nearby for indoor entertainment. Anglers can also target Fish Lake and the Rum River, and winter visitors add ice fishing, snowshoeing, and sledding to the list.
