Campgrounds and RV parks near Morris, MN

Morris sits in west-central Minnesota, a prairie and lakes region roughly three hours northwest of the Twin Cities and about two hours southeast of Fargo. The town is home to the University of Minnesota Morris and the West Central Research and Outreach Center, and it functions as a service hub for a network of small lakes, wildlife areas, and county parks scattered across Stevens, Grant, and Pope counties. RV renters use Morris as a base for lake-focused trips. Pomme de Terre Campground, a city-managed park on the southeast side of Morris along the Pomme de Terre River, accommodates RVs up to 50 feet with electric and water hookups at most sites, plus a dump station. Elk Lake Campground, a small city-owned park in nearby Hoffman, sits on the southern tip of Elk Lake and has 26 sites with electrical service. Beachside RV Park and Big Foot Resort round out the private options in the surrounding lake country. For a state-park experience, the Lower and Oakridge campgrounds inside Glacial Lakes State Park lie south of Starbuck, less than an hour from Morris.

Reservations at Glacial Lakes State Park run through the Minnesota DNR system online 24 hours a day, with phone reservations at 866-857-2757 available April through September. Sites can be booked up to 120 days in advance, and summer weekends at the Lower and Oakridge campgrounds fill early. A separate Minnesota state park vehicle permit is required in addition to the camping fee. Pomme de Terre Campground takes reservations for its electric and water sites, with some rustic sites kept as first-come, first-served. Elk Lake Campground accepts reservations for monthly and seasonal sites, while shorter stays are first-come, first-served, so calling ahead is worthwhile. Private parks such as Beachside RV Park and Big Foot Resort book directly through their own offices or third-party platforms and often require deposits for peak summer weekends.
