Campgrounds and RV parks near New York Mills, MN

New York Mills sits in Otter Tail County, a region of west-central Minnesota that holds more than 1,000 lakes and forms the core of the state's lake country. The town of roughly 1,300 residents lies along U.S. Highway 10 between Wadena and Perham, giving RV travelers straightforward access from Interstate 94 to the south and from the Fargo-Moorhead area to the west. Campground options within a short drive lean toward lakeside RV resorts rather than large public campgrounds. Golden Eagle RV Village, Shady Grove Resort, Thumper Pond RV, The Homestead at Ottertail RV Park and Resort, and Lazy Days Campground are among the closest properties, most offering full hookups, seasonal sites, and access to fishing or swimming water. For state-managed camping, Glendalough State Park sits near Battle Lake to the southwest, and Maplewood State Park lies west of Pelican Rapids. Both operate on the Minnesota DNR reservation system and add hiking, paddling, and swim beaches to the trip.

Private RV parks near New York Mills, including Golden Eagle RV Village, Shady Grove Resort, Thumper Pond RV, The Homestead at Ottertail RV Park and Resort, and Lazy Days Campground, take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. Many hold a large share of sites for seasonal renters, so short-stay availability is tightest on summer weekends and around the fishing opener and July 4. Minnesota state parks such as Glendalough and Maplewood are reserved through the Minnesota DNR reservation system online or by phone. The booking window opens 120 days before arrival, and popular summer weekends can fill quickly once the window opens. All overnight guests at Minnesota state parks also need a state park vehicle permit in addition to the campsite reservation.
