Campgrounds and RV parks near Warsaw, MN

Warsaw is a small unincorporated community in Rice County, southern Minnesota, sitting between Faribault and the chain of lakes that stretches west toward Waterville. The area is part of the Cannon River watershed, with wooded shorelines, farm country, and easy access from Interstate 35. For RV travelers, it functions as a quiet base within roughly a half-hour of a mix of private resorts and one full-service state park. Most nearby campgrounds cluster around lakes rather than the town itself. Camp Maiden Rock West provides lakeside amenities and recreation options including disc golf, a swimming pool, basketball and volleyball courts, a playground, biking trails, and a canoe launch. Winjums Shady Acres Resort and Roberds Lake Resort and Campgrounds sit on their own lakes with sandy beaches and boat access, while Camp Faribo offers a more traditional RV-park layout just outside Faribault. For a public-land option, Sakatah Lake State Park sits on a natural widening of the Cannon River near Waterville, roughly 20 minutes west of Warsaw.

For the state park, reservations go through the Minnesota DNR's online reservation system or its phone line. Campsites at Minnesota state parks can be reserved up to 120 days in advance, and Sakatah Lake State Park also offers a camper cabin. A limited number of sites are held for first-come, first-served use, which can help if plans shift last-minute. Summer weekends and holiday windows fill early, so booking as soon as the 120-day window opens is the safest strategy. Private campgrounds, including Camp Maiden Rock West, Winjums Shady Acres Resort, Camp Faribo, and Roberds Lake Resort and Campgrounds, handle reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Holiday weekends and July dates often require a two- or three-night minimum, and lakefront pull-through sites tend to sell out first.
