Campgrounds and RV parks near Gallatin, MO

Gallatin sits in Daviess County in northwest Missouri, roughly an hour and a half northeast of Kansas City and within reach of two of the region's most-used state park campgrounds. The town itself is small, but its position on US-69 and near US-36 puts renters within a short drive of full-hookup private parks, state park loops with electric sites, and county fishing lakes. The closest overnight options include A Country Charm RV Park and A Country Charm RV & Cabins, both private and open to RV renters looking for a simple base near town. For state park camping, Crowder State Park provides 1,912 acres in the rolling green hills of northern Missouri, with more than 17 miles of hiking, bicycling, backpacking and equestrian trails, while Wallace State Park sits south of Cameron off I-35. Pony Express RV Park and Campground rounds out the list for travelers heading south or west toward St. Joseph. Together these five options cover the typical needs of an RV renter passing through: quick overnight stops, family weekends, and longer stays with hookups.

Missouri State Parks use a single reservation system for both Crowder and Wallace. Reservations can be made one day to 12 months in advance by calling 1-877-422-6766 or going to the Missouri State Parks website. Campers can now reserve a Missouri State Parks campsite up to 12 months in advance, an expansion from the previous six-month window. Reservable sites may be available on a walk-up registration basis if the site is not reserved; before occupying a site, check with the park staff or follow the directions on the posted card or signs. Weekend and holiday stays typically carry a two-night minimum during the on-season. Private parks such as A Country Charm RV & Cabins, A Country Charm RV Park, and Pony Express RV Park and Campground are booked directly with the operator by phone or through their own websites.
