Fishing, picnicking, and swimming at the park beach round out the day. Wallace State Park, a short drive north, has hiking trails, the 6-acre Lake Allaman for fishing and paddling, and shaded picnic areas. Several short trails, including Old Quarry, Rocky Ford, and Skunk Hollow, wind through the wooded hills. At Wallace, Campground 2 stays open year-round with electric sites, while the tent-only loop closes. Winter camping is possible for self-contained rigs, but expect freezing nights and occasional snow.
