Campgrounds and RV parks near Glen Rock, NJ

Glen Rock sits in Bergen County, roughly 20 miles from midtown Manhattan and within an hour's drive of several very different camping options. RV renters typically choose between an urban waterfront park with skyline views, private RV parks in the region, and public campgrounds in the forested Highlands of northern New Jersey and the Lower Hudson Valley. The closest full-hookup RV base is Liberty Harbor RV Park in Jersey City, positioned as an RV basecamp for visiting New York City with electric and water hookups, restrooms, showers, and laundry. For traditional camping in the woods, Camp Wyanokie in West Milford offers 150 acres of forest, a 5-acre lake, and rustic tent-only campsites with fire pits and charcoal grills; the property does not accommodate RVs. Further out, Beaver Pond Campground in Harriman State Park is primitive with no electric hookups and can accommodate smaller RVs, trailers, and campervans up to 30 feet long, while Wawayanda State Park and Black Bear Campground round out the options for RV travelers wanting lake access or hookups closer to the Highlands.

Public parks and private campgrounds use different systems. Online reservations for Wawayanda State Park are made at camping.nj.gov, the New Jersey State Park Service's booking portal. For New York state parks, including Beaver Pond in Harriman, camping reservations can be made up to 9 months in advance through ReserveAmerica. Sites open at the 9-month window at set times: from March 15 through Labor Day, 8AM Monday to Friday and 9AM Saturday and Sunday; the rest of the year, 9AM daily. Same-day reservations are allowed until 3 p.m. on the day of arrival, online or through the ReserveAmerica Call Center. Private parks book directly. Liberty Harbor RV Park and Black Bear Campground take reservations through their own websites and should be booked well in advance for peak dates. Camp Wyanokie requires a paid reservation through its booking partner for campsites and the picnic pavilion.
