Campgrounds and RV parks near Midland Park, NJ

Midland Park sits in Bergen County, roughly twenty miles from Manhattan and within easy reach of the Ramapo Mountains, the New York Highlands, and the northern Skylands region. RV travelers use it as a base for exploring both urban New York and the forested state parks that stretch across the New Jersey and New York border. Campground options fall into two categories. Full-hookup private parks like Black Bear Campground in Orange County, New York and Liberty Harbor RV Park in Jersey City serve travelers who want power, water, and sewer connections. State-run areas including Beaver Pond Campground at Harriman State Park and Wawayanda State Park offer rustic sites in wooded settings without electric hookups. Camp Wyanokie, adjacent to Norvin Green State Forest in West Milford, rounds out the local mix with a tent-only rustic experience. Together these five properties let RV renters and tent campers choose between a city-adjacent hookup site and a wooded park stay, often within a single trip.

New York state park sites, including Beaver Pond Campground, are reserved through the New York State Parks reservation system operated by ReserveAmerica. The booking window opens up to nine months in advance, and popular summer weekends should be locked in as early as the calendar allows. New Jersey state park sites, including Wawayanda, are reserved through the state's official camping portal at camping.nj.gov. Group sites have separate rules and require a minimum party size. Private parks handle their own bookings. Black Bear Campground and Liberty Harbor RV Park take reservations by phone and through their websites, with Liberty Harbor typically requiring advance booking due to limited spaces and high demand for New York City access. Camp Wyanokie is booked online through Campspot and accepts only tent campers, not RVs or trailers.
