Campgrounds and RV parks near Singac, NJ

Singac sits in Little Falls, Passaic County, on the eastern edge of the New Jersey Highlands and roughly 20 miles from midtown Manhattan. That location gives RV travelers two very different sets of campgrounds within an easy drive: rustic, forested sites in the Highlands and Ramapo Mountains to the north and west, and an urban RV park along the Hudson waterfront to the east. Closest to town, Camp Wyanokie offers rustic tent camping bordering Norvin Green State Forest, with hiking trails and fire rings but no RV sites, running water, or electricity. For RV camping with hookups, Liberty Harbor RV Park in Jersey City sits directly across from Manhattan and offers 30/50-amp electric and water hookups, restrooms, showers, laundry, and easy NYC access. Heading northwest, Wawayanda State Park in the NJ Highlands offers group tent sites near Wawayanda Lake, while Beaver Pond Campground in Harriman State Park sits adjacent to Lake Welch and accommodates trailers or RVs up to 30 feet just over the New York line. Black Bear Campground in Florida, New York rounds out the area with year-round RV sites.

Reservations run through different systems depending on the park. New Jersey state park sites, including Wawayanda, are booked online through camping.nj.gov. The park offers group campsites that can take a range of 15 to 35 people, and the sites do not have water on site, so campers haul water from the main office. Beaver Pond Campground in Harriman State Park is reserved through Reserve America on the New York State Parks system, with reservations available up to 9 months in advance. There are no electrical hookups for trailers at this campground, and alcohol is not permitted. Pets are not permitted in Beaver Pond Campground or Lake Welch. Liberty Harbor RV Park and Black Bear Campground take direct bookings through their own websites and phone lines.
