Camping near Delevan, New York
Delevan is a village in Cattaraugus County, New York, within the town of Yorkshire in the western part of the state. Sitting at roughly 1,400 feet in elevation on the Allegheny Plateau, it puts RV travelers within reach of Southern Tier forests, farmland, and reservoir country without the crowds of larger tourism hubs.
Campground options in the immediate area lean toward family-oriented private resorts with full hookups, seasonal amenities, and cabin rentals. Three Valley Resort, Triple R Camping Resort and Trailer Sales, Beaver Meadow Family Campground, Shamrock Pines Campground, and Camp Emerald Acres are all within a short drive and cater to travelers hauling trailers or driving Class A, B, and C rigs.
Delevan also functions as a practical base for day trips. Allegany State Park lies to the south, Letchworth State Park sits to the northeast, and the ski towns of Ellicottville and Holiday Valley are minutes away, giving off-season RV renters something to do beyond the campground loop.
Things to do around Delevan
The surrounding region is built for outdoor recreation. Allegany State Park offers hiking, swimming beaches at Red House and Quaker lakes, and paved bike paths. Letchworth State Park, known as the Grand Canyon of the East, features gorge overlooks, waterfalls, and whitewater rafting on the Genesee River.
Closer to the campgrounds, families can fish and paddle Lime Lake and Case Lake, tour the Griffis Sculpture Park in East Otto, or ride the summer chairlift at Holiday Valley in Ellicottville. The village itself has small diners, a hardware store, and a grocery for stocking the RV.
Rainy-day options include the Rock City Park rock formations near Olean, the Seneca-Iroquois National Museum in Salamanca, and the Seneca Allegany Resort and Casino.

The RV season in this part of Western New York generally runs from mid-May through mid-October. Most private campgrounds open around Memorial Day weekend and close by Columbus Day, tracking freeze risk and water-line shutoffs. Summer weekends between Independence Day and Labor Day are the busiest stretch, and holiday weekends often sell out weeks in advance.
Spring brings mud, black flies, and highly variable weather, with overnight frosts possible into May at this elevation. Fall foliage typically peaks in early to mid-October across the Allegheny Plateau and is a popular window for shorter trips, though nights turn cold quickly.
Winter shifts the region toward skiing and snowmobiling rather than RV camping. Lake-effect snow off Lake Erie is common, and Delevan sits in a snow belt that regularly sees heavy accumulations. Most private campgrounds do not offer winter hookups, so cold-weather RV travelers should confirm services directly before booking.

How to book campgrounds near Delevan
Private campgrounds around Delevan, including Three Valley Resort, Triple R Camping Resort and Trailer Sales, Beaver Meadow Family Campground, Shamrock Pines Campground, and Camp Emerald Acres, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Deposits are typically required, and holiday weekends often carry minimum-night stays.
For nearby state parks, New York State uses the ReserveAmerica platform to book sites at Allegany State Park, Letchworth State Park, and other State Parks properties. The booking window opens up to nine months ahead of arrival, and prime summer weekends at Allegany and Letchworth are often claimed the day they become available.
RV renters should confirm site length, hookup type, and big-rig access before finalizing, since older loops in both private parks and state parks were built for smaller trailers.
What to expect at Delevan-area campgrounds
Expect a mix of seasonal sites and transient sites at the private resorts, with many long-term campers returning year after year. Amenities commonly include swimming pools, playgrounds, camp stores, laundry, propane refills, and organized weekend activities during the summer season.
Hookups vary. Full-hookup pull-throughs suitable for larger motorhomes exist but are limited, so booking early matters if a rig needs 50-amp service or sewer at the site. Water and 30-amp service are more widely available. Cell coverage in the hills can be patchy, and Wi-Fi at rural campgrounds is often slow.
Terrain is rolling and wooded, with gravel or grass sites. Bring leveling blocks, a bug net for spring and early summer, and layers for cool nights even in July and August.

New York gas prices typically run a bit above the national average. A weekend loop to Letchworth, Ellicottville, and back (about 120 miles total) usually costs $40 to $70 in fuel for a midsize motorhome. Pro tip: fill up in Springville or Arcade where prices tend to dip below Buffalo metro rates.
gasprices.aaa.com/state-gas-price-averages/How far ahead should I book a campground near Delevan?

Deer are active at dawn and dusk, especially along Route 16 north of Franklinville. Avoid the Kensington Expressway in Buffalo during rush hour. Mileage policies vary by host, with many offering 100 to 150 free miles per day and unlimited-mileage options available too. Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy at the time of booking using a credit card, no cash exchanges with the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV's value), and it is released back to you after the trip ends, assuming the rig is returned in the same condition it left. To avoid any deposit issues, take date-stamped photos and a walk-around video at pickup and drop-off, top off the fuel and propane as instructed, and empty the tanks at a proper dump station. Pro tip: confirm the host's exact return checklist during the orientation, Delevan hosts are friendly and clear about expectations.
