Campgrounds and RV parks near Hyde, PA

Hyde is a census-designated place in Lawrence Township, Clearfield County, sitting just west of the borough of Clearfield along the West Branch Susquehanna River. It puts RV travelers within easy reach of Interstate 80, US-219, and the surrounding Pennsylvania Wilds region, which covers a large stretch of forested north-central Pennsylvania. The closest public campground is Simon B Elliott State Park, a 318-acre park surrounded by Moshannon State Forest, with a 25-site rustic camping area offering modern restrooms (no showers) and a sanitary dump station. For fuller-hookup RV stays, DuBois / Treasure Lake KOA Holiday sits a short drive west off I-80 and offers RV sites plus deluxe cabins. Private options in the area include Woodland Campground, Lauder Family Campground, and Elk Crossing 555 Campground. Most trips through Hyde combine state-forest recreation with basecamp comforts. The town itself is a quiet residential area, so groceries, fuel, propane, and RV supplies are picked up in neighboring Clearfield and DuBois.

Simon B Elliott State Park is reserved through the Pennsylvania State Parks system on ReserveAmerica. Reservations must be made 3 days ahead of arrival and can be made up to 11 months in advance, with some sites also available first-come, first-served by contacting the park office directly. The maximum stay is 14 days during the summer season, and campers must vacate the park for 48 hours between stays. DuBois / Treasure Lake KOA Holiday is booked through the KOA website or app, and KOA Rewards members receive a discount at checkout. Cancellation terms vary by site type, with cabins requiring longer notice than RV sites. Woodland Campground, Lauder Family Campground, and Elk Crossing 555 Campground are private parks; book directly with each operator, especially for summer weekends and holidays.
