Campgrounds and RV parks near Snow Shoe, PA

Snow Shoe sits on the Allegheny Plateau in Centre County, Pennsylvania, just off I-80 at Exit 147. The village puts RV travelers within roughly a half-hour drive of two Pennsylvania state parks, a KOA Holiday resort, and a cluster of private family campgrounds, making it a practical base for exploring the Moshannon and Bald Eagle state forests. The closest public option is Black Moshannon State Park, a 3,394-acre park of forests and wetlands surrounded by more than 43,000 acres of Moshannon State Forest, about nine miles east of Philipsburg on PA 504. To the east, Bald Eagle State Park sits in the broad Bald Eagle Valley and centers on the 1,730-acre Foster Joseph Sayers Reservoir, a joint project of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and DCNR. Private parks fill out the mix. Bellefonte / State College KOA Holiday offers full-hookup RV sites and cabins in the State College area, while Gram and Paps Fort Bellefonte Campground and Lauder Family Campground provide smaller, family-run alternatives closer to Bellefonte.

State park sites at Black Moshannon and Bald Eagle are reserved through the Pennsylvania State Parks and Forests reservation system online or by calling 888-PA-PARKS (888-727-2757), Monday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance and generally must be booked at least three days ahead of arrival. Pets are not permitted in the Bald Eagle State Park campgrounds, though Yurt B and Camping Cottage #1 accept dogs for a fee. Bellefonte / State College KOA Holiday takes bookings directly through the KOA website or by phone. Smaller private parks such as Gram and Paps Fort Bellefonte Campground and Lauder Family Campground typically book by phone or through their own websites, and summer weekends should be secured well in advance.
