Newport East sits on Aquidneck Island in eastern Rhode Island, giving RV travelers quick access to Narragansett Bay beaches, Newport's harbor and mansions, and campgrounds spread across South County and the nearby Massachusetts coast. Most public campgrounds in the region operate seasonally and rely on state reservation systems, while private parks and marinas cover the shoulder months and long-stay seasonal sites. Fishermans Memorial State Park in Narragansett, on Point Judith, sits in close proximity to Roger Wheeler, Salty Brine, and Scarborough state beaches and is the busiest RV destination in the area.
