Campgrounds and RV parks near Kadoka, SD

Kadoka sits along Interstate 90 in west-central South Dakota, positioning RV travelers within a short drive of Badlands National Park's northern boundary. The town functions as a practical fuel and supply stop between the Missouri River and the Black Hills, and most visitors use it as a staging point before dropping south into the park itself. Campground options in the corridor range from interstate-adjacent RV parks to a national park campground inside the Badlands. Belvidere East / Exit 170 KOA Journey and Minute Man RV Park and Lodging serve travelers who want quick highway access and full hookups. Closer to the park, Badlands / White River KOA Holiday, Cedar Pass Campground - Badlands National Park, and Badlands Interior Campground and Motel put visitors within minutes of the Ben Reifel Visitor Center and the Badlands Loop Road. Expect open prairie, wide horizons, and long sight lines. Shade is limited across the region, cell service is inconsistent once off the interstate, and grocery and fuel options thin out quickly south of I-90.

Cedar Pass Campground takes reservations through Recreation.gov. Reservations for the busy summer season are accepted beginning the first week in March of each year, and Cedar Pass Campground typically requires a reservation, while Sage Creek Campground is first-come, first-served. There are no full hook-ups offered, but 23 sites do have electric hook-ups (30/50 amp). Private parks along I-90, including the KOA properties and Minute Man RV Park and Lodging, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Book summer weekends and holiday periods several months out, as inventory near the Badlands is limited. Guided tours of the Minuteman Missile site are booked through Recreation.gov, and advance reservations are recommended, especially for the underground Delta-01 tour in peak season.
