Campgrounds and RV parks near Round Hill, VA

Round Hill sits in western Loudoun County along Route 7, at the eastern edge of the Blue Ridge and roughly an hour from Washington, D.C. The town itself is small, but its position makes it a practical staging point for RV trips into the Shenandoah Valley, the Potomac corridor, and Harpers Ferry National Historical Park just across the West Virginia line. Most RV campgrounds cluster to the west along the Shenandoah River and to the north along the Potomac. Watermelon Park and RV Campground in Berryville offers riverfront sites with electric and water hookups along the Shenandoah, and the Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA Holiday sits minutes from the national park entrance. Harpers Ferry Campground, operated by River Riders, has full-hookup riverfront RV sites on the Potomac. Across the river in Maryland, Brunswick Family Campground puts campers on the C&O Canal towpath between the canal and the Potomac. For a more primitive stay, Compound Historic Nature Preserve offers a wooded, low-development setting. Loudoun wine country, orchards, and the Appalachian Trail are all within easy driving distance.

Most private campgrounds in this corridor take reservations directly through their own websites or through third-party platforms. Watermelon Park uses Campspot for online booking, and the Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA Holiday takes reservations through koa.com. Brunswick Family Campground and Harpers Ferry Campground both book through River & Trail Outfitters, which operates both properties. For summer weekends and October foliage dates, reserve well ahead. Holiday weekends often sell out weeks in advance, and Harpers Ferry-area sites fill quickly around Memorial Day, July 4, and Labor Day. At the Harpers Ferry KOA, monthly bookings are permitted November through March, with reservations opening after Labor Day. Confirm rig-length limits before booking, particularly at riverfront sites, and note that some access roads in the valley are narrow.
