I just needed a place to crash for a couple of nights at an event so likely didn't use the RV to it's full potential but the RV was clean, in great shape and comfortable. I loved that bedding was included. I didn't realize this so had brought my own but it was a nice touch. Gordon and his helper were lovely to deal with, very kind and the whole process was simple. Would recommend.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Hampton, NB
How much does an RV rental in Hampton cost, and when can I save the most?
Good news: RV rental in Hampton, NB is one of the most affordable ways to explore the Bay of Fundy region. On RVezy, travel trailers in the Hampton area typically start around $90 to $150 CAD per night, campervans and Class B motorhomes range from $150 to $225, and larger Class C motorhomes generally run $200 to $300 per night, with hosts setting their own pricing. To find a cheap RV rental Hampton travelers love, book midweek in June or September when Fundy Coast crowds thin out and nightly rates drop. Pro tip: filter for Instant Book listings near Hampton and Quispamsis to lock in early-bird savings before the July long weekend rush.
tourismnewbrunswick.ca/listing/town-hamptonWhat kind of driver's license do I need to rent an RV in Hampton, NB?
Great news: your regular Class 5 driver's licence from New Brunswick (or the equivalent from your home province, state, or country) is all you need to rent an RV in Hampton for nearly every motorhome and trailer on RVezy. New Brunswick lets you operate any two- or three-axle motorhome and tow trailers up to 4,500 kg behind it on a standard licence, no air-brake endorsement required unless the rig specifically has air brakes. You'll need to be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID through the platform during booking. Visiting from overseas? Bring your home licence plus an International Driving Permit and you're road-ready.
www2.gnb.ca/content/gnb/en/services/services_renderer.201144.Driver_s_Licence.htmlIs my Hampton RV rental protected if something goes wrong?
Absolutely, peace of mind is built into every RV rental in Hampton. Every RVezy booking includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you are covered for most damage to the vehicle from your first kilometre on Route 121 to your last sunset over the Kennebecasis River. During checkout you choose the protection level that fits your trip (this is set by RVezy, not the host), so you can dial up coverage for a longer Fundy Coastal Drive or keep it lean for a quick weekend at a nearby campground. It is not auto insurance in the traditional sense, but it removes the financial worry that holds many first-time renters back.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I need to cancel my Hampton RV trip?
You can book your Hampton RV trip with confidence. RVezy sets a clear, renter-friendly cancellation policy on every reservation, and the terms are consistent across every listing in Hampton, Quispamsis, Rothesay, and the wider Saint John area because RVezy (not the host) manages cancellations. If a host needs to cancel, you are refunded or offered travel credit so your plans stay on track. Pro tip: book early to lock in your dream RV for the Hampton Scarecrow Festival in October, then review the full cancellation terms in the RVezy Help Center so you know exactly what to expect if plans change.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Hampton?
Yes, and your pup will love it. Many hosts offer a pet-friendly RV rental in Hampton, and you can find them in seconds by toggling the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy. New Brunswick provincial parks like nearby New River Beach, and Fundy National Park, welcome leashed dogs on most trails, and the Hampton Marsh Trail along the Kennebecasis is a beloved local stroll for visiting four-legged guests (keep dogs leashed as required). Message the host before you book to confirm any pet fee and share your dog's size. Insider tip: Kredl's Corner Market in Hampton is a popular stop for road-trip snacks before heading out.
parks.canada.ca/pn-np/nb/fundy/visit/chiens-dogsCan the RV be delivered to me in Hampton so I don't have to drive it?
Yes, RV delivery in Hampton is one of the smartest moves for first-time renters. Many RVezy hosts in the Hampton, Quispamsis, and Saint John area will drive the motorhome or travel trailer straight to your campsite, cottage, or driveway, level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. Popular delivery destinations include Fundy National Park in Alma (about 90 minutes east), New River Beach Provincial Park (about 75 minutes southwest), and Rockwood Park in Saint John (about 30 minutes south). Filter for Delivery on RVezy, then message the host with your destination for a custom quote, it often costs less than you would expect.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Hampton%2C%20New%20BrunswickHow far can I drive on my Hampton RV trip, and is unlimited mileage available?
Plenty of range, and yes, RV rental with unlimited mileage is offered by select hosts in Hampton. Each owner sets their own kilometre allowance, typically 150 to 250 km per day included, with extra distance charged at a small per-kilometre rate. From Hampton you're perfectly positioned for short hops or long loops: Saint John (30 km), St. Martins sea caves (75 km), Fundy National Park in Alma (165 km), Hopewell Rocks (200 km), and Moncton (155 km) are all easy day trips or overnighters. Pro tip: if you're planning a full Fundy Coastal Drive (460 km), filter listings for unlimited mileage to keep your budget predictable.
tourismnewbrunswick.ca/fundy-coastal-driveWhere are the best campgrounds near Hampton to park my RV?
You are surrounded by great options for RV camping near Hampton. Try Rockwood Park Campground in Saint John (about 30 minutes south) with serviced sites in a large urban park, Princess Louise RV Park in Sussex (about 45 minutes east) for full hookups in the covered bridge country, and Fundy National Park's Headquarters or Chignecto campgrounds in Alma (about 90 minutes east) for serviced ocean-side sites. New River Beach Provincial Park is another favourite about an hour southwest. Insider tip: book Fundy National Park through the Parks Canada Reservation Service and New Brunswick provincial parks through parcsnbparks.ca, since prime summer weekends fill quickly once reservations open in winter.
parcsnbparks.ca/When is the best time of year to rent an RV in Hampton, NB?
The sweet spot for an RV rental in Hampton runs from late May through mid-October, with July and August offering warm Bay of Fundy days in the 22 to 26°C range and cool, sleep-friendly nights around 12 to 15°C. June is quieter and greener, September brings warm water at Parlee Beach and fewer mosquitoes, and early October paints the Kennebecasis Valley with brilliant red and gold foliage, the local favourite for photos. Most Hampton hosts pause rentals from November through April due to freezing temperatures, though a few winter-ready rigs remain available. Insider tip: aim for the second week of September for warm days, cheap rates, and uncrowded campgrounds.
climate.weather.gc.ca/climate_normals/index_e.htmlI've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay picking one up in Hampton?
You've got this, first time renting an RV in Hampton is easier than you think. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through the engine, slide-outs, fresh water, propane, awning, and dump procedures before you leave the driveway. The roads around Hampton are an ideal training ground: Route 1 is a wide, modern four-lane highway, and Route 121 along the Kennebecasis River is gentle, scenic, and low-traffic. Many first-timers choose a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer for easier handling. Pro tip: ask your host to record the walkthrough on your phone so you can replay it at your first campsite.
www2.gnb.ca/content/gnb/en/departments/public-safety/safety_protection/content/road_safety.htmlWhat happens if my RV breaks down during my trip from Hampton?
You are never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so whether you are parked at the Hampton Lighthouse River Centre or halfway up the Fundy Trail Parkway, one phone call gets you a tow, tire change, battery boost, or lockout service. Your host is also just a message away through the RVezy app and usually knows the rig's quirks better than anyone. For non-emergency questions, RVezy customer support is reachable before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number to your phone before pickup so you are ready if cell service gets spotty along the coast.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat are the best road trip destinations from Hampton?
You're in road-tripper's paradise. A popular RV road trip from Hampton heads east along Route 114 to Fundy National Park in Alma (165 km, about 90 minutes) for the world's highest tides and 25 waterfalls. Continue to Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park (200 km) for the iconic flowerpot rocks. The Fundy Trail Parkway in St. Martins (95 km) is a stunning 30-km coastal drive open mid-May to mid-October. Push west to St. Andrews by-the-Sea (180 km) for whale watching, or north to Fredericton (110 km) for the Saint John River Valley. Cross-border to Maine via the Calais border is also allowed on most RVezy rentals, just confirm with your host first since travel to Mexico is not permitted.
tourismnewbrunswick.ca/ferries-and-farms-road-tripWhat kind of fuel mileage should I budget for around Hampton?
Easy to plan for. Travel trailers don't burn fuel themselves, your tow vehicle handles that, while campervans and Class B motorhomes around Hampton typically get 18 to 22 mpg (about 11 to 13 L/100 km). Class C motorhomes average 10 to 14 mpg, and larger Class A rigs run 7 to 10 mpg. Gas in Hampton hovers around the New Brunswick provincial average regulated by the Energy and Utilities Board, with prices posted weekly. Fill up at the Irving on Main Street before heading toward Alma since gas stations thin out along Route 114. Pro tip: a week-long Hampton family RV trip covering 800 km in a Class C usually budgets $250 to $350 CAD in fuel.
nbeub.ca/How far in advance should I book a campground near Hampton?
The earlier the better, but it's totally doable last-minute too. Reservations for New Brunswick Provincial Parks open February 10 each year through parcsnbparks.ca, and prime July and August weekends at Fundy National Park (booked via the Parks Canada Reservation Service starting in mid-January) often sell out within weeks. For private parks like Rockwood Park in Saint John or Princess Louise in Sussex, two to four weeks ahead is usually plenty. A non-refundable reservation fee of $10 applies at provincial parks. Insider tip: if your first-choice site is sold out, services like Campnab will text you when a cancellation opens up, scoring sites is easier than people think.
parcsnbparks.ca/What are driving conditions like around Hampton?
Refreshingly relaxed compared to big-city driving. Hampton sits on Route 121 just off Highway 1, a modern divided four-lane that runs smoothly from Saint John to the Nova Scotia border. Traffic is light outside of summer Friday afternoons, and there are no mountain passes near town, the Kennebecasis Valley is rolling but gentle. Watch for moose and white-tailed deer at dawn and dusk, especially on Route 114 toward Alma and Route 880 toward Sussex. Winter brings real snow and ice from December through March, which is why most RVs are seasonal here. Pro tip: check 511 New Brunswick before any long-haul drive for real-time road conditions and construction updates.
gnb.ca/en/services/services_renderer.13345.511_-_New_Brunswick.htmlWhat amenities will I find at campgrounds near Hampton?
You'll be comfortable. Most full-service campgrounds near Hampton, including Rockwood Park in Saint John and Princess Louise in Sussex, offer 30-amp electrical hookups (some 50-amp), potable water fills, sewer at serviced sites, and dump stations for everyone else. Provincial parks like New River Beach provide showers, flush toilets, picnic tables, and fire pits, with firewood for sale on site (please don't bring your own to prevent invasive insects). Cell service is solid in town and along Route 1 but can drop in deep Fundy valleys. Insider tip: the Irving Big Stop in Sussex has a free RV dump station and potable water fill, a lifesaver between trips.
gnb.ca/en/topic/tourism-recreation/tourism/policies-rules-campers.htmlWhat's inside a typical RV rental in Hampton?
More than you'd expect. A typical motorhome rental Hampton listing comes fully equipped: a queen or king bed, convertible dinette and sofa sleepers, a kitchen with three-burner propane stove, fridge/freezer, microwave, sink and full cookware, a bathroom with toilet and shower, roof air conditioning, propane furnace, and DOT-approved seatbelts for travel. Many rigs include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor speakers, and an awning, and some hosts add a portable Wi-Fi hotspot or generator as add-ons. Campervans are more compact but cover the essentials beautifully. Pro tip: check the listing's Sleeps count and bathroom photos carefully if you're planning a family RV trip Hampton style, hosts list exactly what's included.
tourismnewbrunswick.ca/listing/town-hamptonWhat add-ons and pickup options are available for a campervan rental Hampton trip?
Lots of ways to personalize your campervan rental Hampton experience. Common add-ons include bedding and linen packages ($25 to $60), kitchen kits, generators ($25 to $50 per day), bike racks, kayaks, BBQs, camping chairs, outdoor mats, and pet cleaning packages. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Hampton, Quispamsis, or Rothesay between 1 and 4 p.m., with drop-off the next morning by 11 a.m., though many hosts are flexible. Mileage allowances and pet rules are set per listing and clearly displayed. Pro tip: message the host before booking to ask about a free late drop-off if you're catching a ferry to Digby or driving back from Hopewell Rocks.
tourismnewbrunswick.ca/listing/hampton-visitor-information-centreHow does payment and the security deposit work for renting an RV in Hampton?
Simple and secure. When you rent an RV in Hampton through RVezy, the full rental amount is charged through the secure RVezy platform, never directly to the host. A refundable security deposit (typically a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars depending on the rig) is pre-authorized on your card before pickup and released after the trip once the RV is returned in good shape. To avoid surprises, do a walkaround video at pickup and drop-off, return the rig with the same fuel and propane levels, and empty the holding tanks if your host requests it. Insider tip: keep dated photos of the interior and exterior to make any post-trip review smooth.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I take my Hampton RV rental across the border into the US or to Nova Scotia and PEI?
Yes to all three Maritime neighbours and most US border crossings, with a quick host check first. Many RVezy hosts in Hampton allow travel into Maine via the Calais/St. Stephen border (about 2 hours west), to Nova Scotia via Aulac (about 2 hours northeast), or to Prince Edward Island via the Confederation Bridge (about 3 hours). Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. Always message the host to confirm cross-border permission before booking and ask for a written travel letter to show at customs along with your passport. Pro tip: a 7-day Maritimes loop from Hampton hitting PEI, Cape Breton, and back is a bucket-list family RV trip many Hampton renters love.
