This is the first time we’ve rented a travel trailer and the first time we’ve been camping in about 20 years, Kurt and his wife were amazing and easy to deal with! The trailer was set up for us when we arrived in the perfect location. I couldn’t recommend them more! We will for sure rent from them again!

Renting and returning the RV was very smooth and Blair made the whole process even smoother. We rented it for 3 days at a non-elecric site. The RV is very spacious and clean. He also provided us with all utensils, bedding, and other items in the RV. It is also equipped with all the new features and the best part was the fridge which was running on solar and we didn't have to use our solar generators at all throughout the rental (3 days). The RV was delivered on time and was also picked up on time. I highly recommend Blair's RV who is looking to rent the trailer. I will be renting with him again next year as well if not sooner!

Since it was non electric site he also brought generator with jerry can. He shared many valuable tips and info. Beautiful family, would definitely recommend for any future reservations.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Baldwin, ON
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Baldwin?
An RV rental in Baldwin is one of the more affordable ways to explore Northern Ontario's lake country. On RVezy, you'll typically find travel trailers from around $100 to $175 CAD per night, campervans between $150 and $225, and larger Class C motorhomes between $200 and $300 nightly. Booking midweek or in May or September shoulder seasons can save you 20 to 30 percent versus July long weekends. For a cheap RV rental Baldwin travellers love, filter by travel trailers with delivery included so you skip fuel costs entirely. Many Sudbury-area hosts also drop nightly prices for stays of 5 or more nights.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Baldwin,OntarioWhat licence do I need to rent an RV in Baldwin?
Good news for first-timers: a standard Ontario Class G driver's licence (or your home province/state equivalent) is all you need to rent an RV in Baldwin. No special RV endorsement, air-brake ticket, or commercial licence is required for any motorhome or trailer on the RVezy platform. Visiting from outside Canada? Bring your home licence, and an International Driving Permit is recommended if your licence is not in English or French. RVezy generally requires renters to be 25 or older, and the platform verifies approved drivers before pickup. That's it, you're road-ready for the Northern Ontario backroads.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs protection included with my Baldwin RV rental?
Yes. Every booking on RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Highway 17 with confidence. The protection plan helps cover damages to the RV during your trip, giving you real peace of mind. During checkout, you choose the protection level that fits your comfort so you control how much coverage you want, the host does not pick this for you. For a remote area like Baldwin where cell service can dip between Espanola and Sudbury, that included roadside backup is genuinely reassuring on any motorhome rental Baldwin trip.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Baldwin RV trip?
Booking is low-risk. RVezy sets the cancellation policy centrally, not the host, and refund eligibility depends on how far ahead you cancel relative to your trip start. Because the policy is managed by RVezy, you won't see policy details on individual listings, but the RVezy Help Centre and support team walk you through the options. If a host cancels on you, RVezy will help you find a replacement RV or issue a refund. Book early for August weekends around Manitoulin Island, then relax knowing you have a clear path if plans shift.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a Baldwin RV rental?
Yes. Pet-friendly RV rental Baldwin options are easy to find on RVezy, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter to see listings where furry co-pilots are welcome. Northern Ontario is a dog's dream: leashed pups are allowed on most trails at nearby Chutes Provincial Park in Massey and at Windy Lake Provincial Park, both within roughly an hour's drive. The Spanish River shoreline gives them plenty of swimming spots too. Hosts may charge a small pet fee or extra cleaning fee, which is shown clearly before booking. Message the host through the listing about your dog's size and they'll often share favourite local off-leash spots.
ontarioparks.ca/park/chutesCan the RV be delivered to my campground near Baldwin?
Yes. RV delivery Baldwin is one of the smartest ways to start your trip, especially if you're flying into Sudbury (YSB) or coming up from Toronto without a tow vehicle. Many hosts will deliver and set up the RV at your campsite at Windy Lake Provincial Park, Chutes Provincial Park, or a private property near the Spanish River, then walk you through every system on arrival. Delivery fees are set by each host and are typically charged per kilometre from the host's location. Use the Delivery filter when searching, and message the host with your campground address for an exact quote. It's the most stress-free way to enjoy your first motorhome rental Baldwin adventure.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Baldwin,OntarioHow far can I drive on a Baldwin RV rental, and how does mileage work?
You've got room to roam. Hosts set their own mileage policies on RVezy, and many Baldwin-area listings include 100 to 200 free kilometres per night, with some offering RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer trips. From Baldwin, popular drives include Sudbury (about 65 km east), Manitoulin Island via the Little Current swing bridge (around 130 km south), Killarney Provincial Park (about 170 km southeast by road), Sault Ste. Marie (around 300 km west), and the Agawa Canyon area further north of the Sault. Extra kilometres are billed at the host's posted per-km rate. If you're planning a Baldwin RV trip that loops Lake Huron's north shore, ask the host upfront and many will bundle extra kilometres at a better rate.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Baldwin,OntarioWhere are the best campgrounds near Baldwin?
You're spoiled for choice. Some of the best campgrounds near Baldwin include Chutes Provincial Park in Massey (about 20 minutes west, with waterfalls and electrical sites), Windy Lake Provincial Park (about 45 minutes northeast, great swimming beach and electrical hookups), Halfway Lake Provincial Park (roughly 90 minutes north, excellent dark-sky stargazing), and Killarney Provincial Park (southeast, famous for the La Cloche quartzite ridges). For RV camping Baldwin trips with full hookups, private parks along Highway 17 toward Espanola typically offer 30-amp service. Chutes' riverside loop fills up fastest, so book that one first.
ontarioparks.ca/park/chutes/campgroundWhen is the best time to visit Baldwin in an RV?
Late June through early September is the sweet spot for RV camping Baldwin trips, with typical daytime highs around 22 to 26 C and warm lake water perfect for swimming in the Spanish River and Agnew Lake. May and early June bring blackflies, so pack a bug net or wait until late June. September is arguably the best month: temperatures cool to roughly 15 to 20 C in the day, bugs fade, campgrounds quiet down, and the maple and birch forests turn red and gold around the third week. Winter rentals are limited here because temperatures can drop well below freezing and many parks close. Book a late-September week for peak fall colour with smaller crowds.
climate.weather.gc.ca/climate_normals/index_e.htmlI've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving around Baldwin?
You're going to do great. A first time renting an RV is easier than most people expect, and Baldwin's quiet two-lane roads are a gentle place to learn. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup, covering driving tips, propane, water, dumping, and electrical hookups before you leave the driveway. Highway 17 (the Trans-Canada) through this area is well-maintained with wide shoulders and gentle curves. Stick to smaller Class C motorhomes or campervans if you're nervous, they handle much like a large van. Do a slow practice loop on Baldwin's backroads before heading to your campground and you'll feel confident within an hour.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat happens if the RV breaks down during my trip?
You're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so a flat tire on Highway 17 or a dead battery at Windy Lake is just a phone call away. Roadside can dispatch tow trucks, mobile mechanics, tire service, fuel delivery, and lockout assistance across Northern Ontario. Your host is also reachable directly through the RVezy app and usually knows the local repair shops in Espanola, Massey, or Sudbury that handle RVs. Snap a photo of the RV's VIN and licence plate at pickup and save the roadside number to your phone so you're ready if anything pops up.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Baldwin RV rental across the border into the US?
Cross-border trips are possible on many RVezy rentals, but you must get written approval from your host before booking since insurance coverage needs to extend to US travel. From Baldwin, the closest US crossing is Sault Ste. Marie (around 300 km west), a popular gateway for Upper Peninsula Michigan road trips. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Bring your passport, the vehicle ownership documents the host provides, and the host's written cross-border authorization. An RV road trip from Baldwin to Tahquamenon Falls and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore makes a memorable 4 to 5 day loop, just confirm the route with your host first.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat should I budget for fuel on a Baldwin RV trip?
Fuel is the biggest variable in your trip cost, but it's predictable. Travel trailers and campervans in this area typically consume 18 to 25 L/100km when towed or driven, while larger Class A and Class C motorhomes use roughly 25 to 35 L/100km. Gas prices in the Sudbury and Espanola corridor usually run a few cents higher than southern Ontario. A typical 500 km loop from Baldwin to Manitoulin Island and back will run roughly $130 to $200 in fuel for a mid-size motorhome at current pump prices. Fill up in Espanola or Sudbury before heading north, the smaller stations closer to Halfway Lake tend to charge a premium.
www2.nrcan.gc.ca/eneene/sources/pripri/prices_bycity_e.cfmHow far in advance should I book a campground near Baldwin?
For Ontario Provincial Parks like Chutes, Windy Lake, Halfway Lake, and Killarney, reservations open 5 months ahead through the Ontario Parks reservation system, and the best electrical sites for July and August weekends often book within minutes of opening. For September and weekday stays, you can usually grab a site 2 to 4 weeks out. Private RV parks along Highway 17 are more flexible and often available within a week. Set a calendar alarm for 7 a.m. on the date exactly 5 months before your trip, log into the Ontario Parks reservation site, and have your preferred site number picked in advance. That's how locals snag the riverside loop at Chutes.
reservations.ontarioparks.ca/What are the driving conditions like around Baldwin?
Driving here is genuinely pleasant. Baldwin sits along Highway 17 (the Trans-Canada) in a rural part of the Sudbury District, with light traffic, wide shoulders, and gentle terrain compared to mountain passes further west. Watch for moose and deer at dawn and dusk, especially between Massey and Espanola, this corridor sees regular wildlife activity, so reduce speed after sunset. Spring can bring frost heaves on secondary roads, and winter (roughly November to April) means snow, ice, and the need for winter tires. Summer driving is straightforward. Download offline maps before leaving Sudbury, since cell coverage can drop in pockets between Nairn Centre and Webbwood.
511on.ca/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Baldwin?
You'll find a great mix. Ontario Provincial Parks in the area, Chutes, Windy Lake, and Halfway Lake, offer electrical sites (15/30 amp), potable water fill stations, sani-dump stations, flush toilets, hot showers, and firewood for sale. Most provincial sites do not include sewer hookups, so plan to dump on departure. Private RV parks along Highway 17 typically add 30/50 amp service, water and sewer hookups, and sometimes Wi-Fi. The closest fuel and grocery resupply is Espanola, about 25 minutes west of Baldwin. Top up fresh water in Espanola before heading to the provincial parks since fill stations there usually have stronger pressure than most campground taps.
ontarioparks.ca/campingWhat features and amenities come with a typical Baldwin RV rental?
Plenty of comfort, even out in the bush. Most RV rentals in this region come fully equipped with a queen or king bed, bunks or convertible dinettes for kids, a propane stove and oven, fridge and freezer, microwave, indoor bathroom with shower and toilet, furnace, air conditioning, and seatbelts for every passenger. Many include a generator (great for boondocking near Agnew Lake), outdoor speakers, an awning, and kitchen kits with dishes, pots, and bedding. Wi-Fi and TVs are common in newer Class C motorhomes. Filter by Sleeps 6+ if you're planning a family RV trip Baldwin adventure, and message the host to confirm the generator is included, it's a big help at unserviced sites.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Baldwin,OntarioWhat add-ons and options can I get with my Baldwin RV rental?
Hosts on RVezy offer plenty of helpful extras to customize your trip. Common add-ons around Baldwin include kitchen and linen kits, camping chairs and outdoor tables, generators, bike racks, kayaks or SUPs (perfect for the Spanish River), portable BBQs, and Starlink Wi-Fi for remote sites. Pickup is usually at the host's home near Baldwin, Massey, or Sudbury, and delivery and setup are widely offered. Mileage allowances and pet fees are set by each host and are shown clearly on the listing. Bundle a kayak rental with delivery to Windy Lake to save fuel and have water toys waiting when you arrive.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Baldwin,OntarioHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is simple and secure. You pay through RVezy directly with a major credit card, never in cash to the host, with a portion charged at booking and the balance before pickup. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment. It is pre-authorized on your card before your trip and released after a clean return, typically within several days. To avoid issues, do a thorough walkaround video with the host at pickup and dropoff, return the RV with the fuel and propane levels noted on the agreement, and empty the black and grey tanks at a sani-dump (Chutes Provincial Park has one). Keep the dump receipt as proof for your host.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksHow do I prepare for cold weather if I want to RV near Baldwin in spring or fall?
Shoulder-season RVing here is rewarding, just come prepared. Nights in Baldwin can dip to roughly 2 to 8 C in May and September, and can hit freezing in early October. Look for RVezy listings with a propane furnace (standard in most Class C motorhomes), heated holding tanks, and 30-amp shore power capability so you can plug in at electrical sites like Chutes or Windy Lake and run the furnace overnight without draining the battery. Bring warm sleeping bags as backup and pack closed-toe shoes for chilly mornings on the Spanish River. Ask the host to record the antifreeze and tank-warming switch walkthrough on video, it's the one detail first-timers tend to forget once they're at the campground.
