We had such a great weekend away with the trailer! The trailer was very nice, clean, and a great size for our trip. There was plenty if beds and they were very comfortable, and everything was well taken care of. Everything worked perfectly during our stay—the battery, water, and sewage systems were all great, and we had no issues at all. We had so much fun and really enjoyed our weekend! The host was also wonderful—very nice, friendly, and easy to communicate with. Communication was excellent from start to finish. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our experience and would definitely recommend it. It was such a fun and relaxing weekend with the trailer, and we would happily rent it again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My daughter and I had the best week in Harvie’s trailer. We were so fortunate to have an electrical hook up at our camp site, so Harvie’s trailer was pure luxury for us! The big bed was VERY cozy! Great mattress! Everything worked great! It was clean and well-appointed. Harvie was great with communication and was available when I had questions. He set everything up and took everything away when we were done. I highly recommend 😊

Smaller travel trailers and truck campers tend to be the lowest-priced option for couples exploring the Rideau Valley.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Kemptville%2C%20OntarioWhat licence do I need to rent an RV in Kemptville?
A standard Ontario Class G driver's licence (or its equivalent from your home province, state or country) is all you need to rent an RV in Kemptville. No special motorhome endorsement, air-brake ticket or commercial licence is required for the Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes and travel trailers listed on RVezy. Approved drivers are generally required to be at least 25 years old, and RVezy verifies your ID securely through the platform when you book. Visiting from overseas? Yes, every RV rental in Kemptville booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance included, so you can explore North Grenville with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers eligible damage to the vehicle and provides meaningful financial protection on the road. During checkout you choose your coverage level (it's set by RVezy, not the host), so you can dial protection up if you're a first-time renter heading to Rideau River Provincial Park or the Thousand Islands. If anything happens, RVezy support is one phone call away.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat is the cancellation policy on a Kemptville RV booking?
Booking an RV rental in Kemptville is low-risk because RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy across the platform. There's a grace period for full money-back cancellations shortly after booking, with additional refund tiers depending on how far out your trip is. The same standardized policy applies to every listing, so you won't see a different policy on each RV. If you need to change dates for your Kemptville RV trip, message your host first, many are happy to shift dates rather than cancel outright.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Kemptville?
Absolutely, a pet-friendly RV rental Kemptville families love is easy to find. On RVezy, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter and you'll see hosts who welcome dogs and cats, often with extras like pet bowls or removable seat covers. Kemptville is genuinely one of the best small towns in Eastern Ontario for dogs: the Ferguson Forest Centre on County Road 44 has a fenced off-leash dog park with separate zones for big and small dogs, plus 22 km of leashed trails. Rideau River Provincial Park also allows leashed pets on most trails and a designated pet beach, making your campsite a true family affair.
ontarioparks.ca/park/rideauriverCan the RV be delivered to my campsite in Kemptville?
Yes, RV delivery in Kemptville is widely offered and it's often the smartest move for first-time renters. Many owners will drive the motorhome or trailer straight to Rideau River Provincial Park, a private campground, or even your driveway off County Road 43, then level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system. You skip towing, parking and setup entirely. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy to see hosts who offer this service, then message them with your campground name and dates. Delivery fees usually scale with distance, so booking a Kemptville-based host keeps costs low.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340054-Delivery-optionsAre unlimited mileage RV rentals available in Kemptville?
Yes, you can find an RV rental with unlimited mileage in Kemptville, which is perfect if you're planning a longer loop through the Rideau Canal corridor, the Thousand Islands or beyond. Many hosts include a set daily kilometre allowance in their base rate, and a growing number offer unlimited kilometres as a paid add-on or promotion. Use the mileage filter on RVezy to compare, then message the host before booking to confirm the details. If you're sticking close to Kemptville and just heading to Merrickville (about 20 km) or Smiths Falls (about 33 km), a capped mileage plan is usually the cheapest way to go.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Kemptville%2C%20OntarioWhere are the best campgrounds near Kemptville for an RV?
You're spoiled for choice when it comes to the best campgrounds near Kemptville. Rideau River Provincial Park (about 5 km from town, with electric sites along the Rideau River) is the classic choice for RV camping Kemptville locals recommend first. Sleepy Cedars Family Camping toward Ottawa is great for families, and Ottawa's Hide-A-Way Campground or 1000 Islands / Ivy Lea KOA further south are polished options with full hookups. For a longer drive, Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary near Morrisburg pairs camping with riverfront wildlife viewing.
ontarioparks.ca/park/rideauriverWhen is the best time of year to rent an RV in Kemptville?
Late May through early October is prime time for a Kemptville RV trip, with the sweet spot being mid-June to late August when daytime highs average around 25 to 27 degrees C and Rideau River swimming is at its best. September is the local insider's pick: warm days near 18 to 22 degrees C, fewer mosquitoes, and the maples around Ferguson Forest turn brilliant red and gold. Ontario Parks campgrounds like Rideau River typically operate from mid-May through Thanksgiving in mid-October. Winter rentals are possible if a host offers a four-season RV, but most travellers stick to May through October for the easiest, most enjoyable trip.
climate.weather.gc.ca/climate_normals/results_1991_2020_e.html?searchType=stnName&txtStationName=ottawaI've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving around Kemptville?
Yes, Kemptville is one of the easiest places in Ontario to start your first time renting an RV. Highway 416 runs straight north to Ottawa and south to the 401 with wide lanes, gentle grades and clearly marked exits, and the town's grid of streets around Prescott Street has plenty of room to maneuver a Class C or travel trailer. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering the generator, slide-outs, tanks and hookups so nothing's a mystery. Pro tip: ask your host for a quick demo drive in the empty lot at the North Grenville Municipal Centre on County Road 44 before you head out.
ontario.ca/document/official-mto-drivers-handbookWhat happens if my RV breaks down during my Kemptville trip?
You're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so if you get a flat on County Road 43 or the fridge stops cooling outside Merrickville, you call one number and help is dispatched. Your host is also a great second line of support, most Kemptville owners live within 20 to 30 minutes of town and can talk you through quick fixes by phone or text. For mechanical work, Kemptville has full-service garages along Highway 416 and major service centres are available in nearby Ottawa, about 40 minutes up the highway.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat are the best RV road trips from Kemptville?
An RV road trip from Kemptville opens up some of Eastern Canada's best scenery. Head about 40 minutes north on Highway 416 to Ottawa for Parliament Hill and Gatineau Park (around 60 km). Drive about 90 minutes south and west on the 401 to Thousand Islands National Park near Gananoque (around 150 km). Trace the Rideau Canal UNESCO route through Merrickville (20 km) and Smiths Falls (33 km) to Kingston (around 130 km). Cross into Quebec for Montreal in roughly 2 hours (200 km), or push about 4 hours west to Algonquin Provincial Park for legendary fall colours. All routes are flat to gently rolling, easy first-trip driving.
pc.gc.ca/en/lhn-nhs/on/rideauWhat kind of fuel costs should I budget for a Kemptville RV trip?
Budget smart and a Kemptville RV trip stays very affordable. Class C motorhomes average around 18 to 22 L/100 km, Class B campervans get 13 to 16 L/100 km, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. Gas in Kemptville is typically a few cents cheaper than in downtown Ottawa, with stations along Highway 416 and County Road 43 offering competitive prices. For a typical week-long loop covering 800 km, plan on roughly $200 to $325 CAD in fuel. Fill up in Kemptville or Spencerville before heading into Ottawa or across the bridge into Quebec, where prices often jump.
natural-resources.canada.ca/energy-sources/fossil-fuels/pricing/fuel-consumption-guideHow far in advance should I book a campground near Kemptville?
For summer weekends, book your campsite as soon as you book your Kemptville RV rental, ideally 3 to 5 months ahead. Rideau River Provincial Park opens reservations five months in advance through the Ontario Parks reservation system, and waterfront sites for July and August weekends often sell out within hours. Private parks typically book through their own websites and tend to fill 1 to 2 months out. Midweek and shoulder-season trips in June or September are far easier, you can often grab a site 2 to 3 weeks ahead. Sunday-to-Thursday stays at Rideau River almost always have availability.
reservations.ontarioparks.ca/What are driving conditions like around Kemptville?
Driving conditions in and around Kemptville are about as friendly as Ontario gets for RVs. Highway 416 is a divided four-lane freeway with wide shoulders connecting Kemptville to Ottawa (about 40 minutes north) and the 401 (about 30 minutes south), and County Roads 43 and 44 are well-paved two-lane rural roads with light traffic. Terrain is flat to gently rolling farmland with no mountain passes. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk, especially near Ferguson Forest, and slow down during sudden summer thunderstorms that can roll across the Rideau Valley. Winter brings snow and ice from December to March, when many hosts pause rentals. Check 511 Ontario for live road conditions before you depart.
511on.ca/What hookups and amenities do Kemptville-area campgrounds offer?
Most campgrounds near Kemptville are well equipped for RVs. Rideau River Provincial Park offers 15 and 30 amp electric hookups, potable water fill stations and a sanitary dump station included with your site fee. Private parks in the region often offer full hookups (water, electric and sewer) on many sites, plus Wi-Fi, pools, laundry and propane refills. Sleepy Cedars has 30-amp hydro and water. If you're boondocking or staying somewhere without a dump, the Rideau River Provincial Park dump station is open to non-campers for a small fee. Top up water in town before arrival to keep your trip stress-free.
ontarioparks.ca/park/rideauriverWhat's actually inside a typical Kemptville RV rental?
More than you'd expect. A typical motorhome rental in Kemptville comes fully equipped: a real bed (often a queen plus a convertible dinette or bunk), a kitchen with fridge, stovetop, microwave and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, plus heating and air conditioning. Many have a TV or Bluetooth speakers, and Class A and C units usually include a generator for off-grid power. Seatbelts are provided for every travelling passenger, so check the sleeps-vs-seats count when booking a family RV trip Kemptville style. Kitchen kits, bedding and outdoor chairs are commonly included or available as add-ons, and you can confirm exactly what's included on each RVezy listing.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Kemptville%2C%20OntarioWhat add-ons and pickup options do Kemptville RV hosts offer?
Kemptville hosts make customizing your rental easy. Popular add-ons include bedding and linen packs, fully stocked kitchen kits, BBQs, outdoor chairs and firewood, bike racks, generators and even kayaks, perfect for paddling Kemptville Creek or the Rideau River. Many hosts charge per-kilometre over a daily allowance, while others offer unlimited-kilometre packages. Pickup is usually at the host's home base in or near Kemptville, and delivery to Rideau River Provincial Park or your driveway is widely available. Filter by Instant Book on RVezy if you want to confirm your trip immediately without waiting for host approval.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Kemptville%2C%20OntarioHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is straightforward and secure. When you book a campervan rental in Kemptville through RVezy, you pay through the platform by credit card, never directly to the host, which protects both sides. A refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your card before pickup and released after the trip if there's no damage and the RV is returned as agreed. To avoid issues, do a thorough walkaround with your host at pickup, take date-stamped photos, and return the RV with fuel and tanks matching the booking terms.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I take my Kemptville RV rental across the US border?
Often yes, but always ask first. Many RVezy hosts in Kemptville allow cross-border trips into New York State (the Ogdensburg-Prescott bridge is about 40 minutes south on Highway 416), which makes destinations like the Adirondacks or even Vermont a real possibility. Confirm directly with your host before booking, since insurance coverage and host preferences vary. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Bring your passport, vehicle registration and a host-signed cross-border letter, and declare the RV at customs. Kemptville's proximity to the 401 and the Thousand Islands border crossings makes it one of the best Ontario launch points for a US road trip.
