Since the time we booked the RV Ayren was very fast to respond and always willing to answer any questions. RV is immaculate and everything works the way it should. I would recommend this RV for anyone that wants to experience RV living. Also James and Ayren were very friendly both on pick up and drop off. This was our first experience “glamping” with an RV and it was a weekend to never forget. Keep in mind this RV is fully stocked with everything you will need, I mean everything, just bring your clothes and food because they have everything else you can think of.

Robert was a pleasure to deal with. He was on time for delivery. He went above and beyond to fix a water pressure issue and brought the table that was missing for camper. The camper was clean and had the essentials that were noted in the ad. If you have kids and are planning to use the DVD part, bring your own, as the selection is small. We would gladly rent from him again.

RV rental in Listowel is one of the more affordable ways to explore southwestern Ontario. On RVezy, motorhomes near Listowel average around $250 CAD per night, while travel trailers and fifth wheels typically run about $150 per night. What happens if I need to cancel my Listowel RV booking?

Booking with confidence is the whole point. RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and the policy is applied consistently to every booking. The refund amount depends on how far out your trip is and the specific terms of the cancellation policy that applied at booking. If plans change, open your RVezy dashboard to start the cancellation, and the support team will walk you through it. If a host cancels on you, RVezy issues a refund or travel credit so your trip plans aren't left in limbo. Pro tip: book early to lock in summer dates, Ontario's peak RV weekends fill fast.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Listowel?

Absolutely, dogs are welcome on plenty of trips. Many RVezy hosts in the Listowel area list pet-friendly RVs, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when you search and you'll see eligible motorhomes and trailers right away. Once you've chosen, message the host to confirm any small pet fee or rules (some prefer no pets on furniture, for example). Listowel itself is a great pet base: the Steve Kerr Memorial Complex trails, Memorial Park along the Maitland River, and nearby Wallace Cumming Park are all leash-friendly. Most Ontario Parks campgrounds (MacGregor Point, Pinery, Inverhuron) have dedicated pet-friendly loops. Pro tip: pack a collapsible water bowl, summer afternoons in Perth County regularly hit 26 to 28 °C.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or home in Listowel?

Yes, and RV delivery in Listowel is one of the smartest moves for first-time renters. Many RVezy hosts in Perth, Wellington, and Huron Counties will tow or drive the RV right to your driveway or campground site, level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy to see hosts who offer it, then message to confirm distance pricing to spots like Conestoga Lake Conservation Area, Wildwood Conservation Area, or Pinery Provincial Park. Pro tip: delivery is a game-changer if you've never towed a trailer or you're picking up family at Region of Waterloo International Airport, you skip the highway driving entirely.

How does mileage work, and how far can I realistically drive from Listowel?

You've got lots of room to roam. Most Listowel RV hosts include a daily kilometre allowance (often 200 to 300 km per day) with overage fees in the $0.30 to $0.50 per km range, and some listings even offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, just filter for it. From Listowel you're roughly 60 km to Stratford, 75 km to Kitchener-Waterloo, 90 km to Goderich on Lake Huron, 175 km to Tobermory and the Bruce Peninsula, 200 km to Toronto, and 260 km to Algonquin Provincial Park's west gate. Pro tip: if you're planning a long Bruce Peninsula or Muskoka loop, choose an unlimited-km listing upfront, it's cheaper than paying overage at the end.

Where are the best campgrounds near Listowel to park my RV?

You're spoiled for choice within an hour of Listowel. Top picks include Saugeen Riverbank Campground in Hanover (riverfront sites, tubing, fishing, about 50 minutes north), Conestoga Lake Conservation Area near Drayton (full-service sites, swimming beach, about 30 minutes south), Pike Lake Resort near Minto (family-focused with a heated pool, around 25 minutes away), Lake Huron Highlands near Wingham, and Wildwood Conservation Area near St. Marys (about an hour southwest, great for boating). For bigger adventures, Pinery and MacGregor Point Provincial Parks on Lake Huron are 90 minutes to two hours out. Pro tip: book conservation-area sites through the Grand River Conservation Authority and provincial sites through Ontario Parks' reservation system at least 3 to 5 months ahead for summer weekends.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Listowel?

Late May through early October is prime RV season in Listowel, and each stretch has its own charm. June, July, and August deliver the warmest weather, with daily highs of 24 to 27 °C and long 15-hour days ideal for Lake Huron beach trips. September is the local insider's secret: warm days, cool nights around 8 to 12 °C, fewer mosquitoes, and stunning fall colours across Grey and Bruce Counties by late September. Spring (mid-May) is quiet and budget-friendly but bring layers, nights can still dip to 4 °C. Pro tip: target the third week of September for the Stratford Garlic Festival and peak foliage on a single RV camping Listowel trip.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay?

You'll do great, first time renting an RV is far easier than most people expect, especially around Listowel. Roads in Perth and Wellington Counties are wide, flat, and lightly trafficked, which makes them ideal for getting comfortable behind the wheel. Every RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup covering driving tips, hookups, the generator, slide-outs, and dump procedures, and they're a message away during your trip. If you'd rather skip the drive entirely, book a host who delivers and sets up at your campground. Pro tip: start with a shorter first leg, drive from Listowel to Conestoga Lake (about 30 km) on day one, get comfortable, then push further to Lake Huron or Muskoka after a night's sleep.

What happens if something goes wrong on the road?

You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so whether you have a flat on Highway 86 near Listowel, a dead battery at a Grey County campground, or a tow situation on the way to Tobermory, one call gets help dispatched. Your host is also reachable by message or phone for quick questions about appliances or systems specific to their RV. For anything platform-related, RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: snap photos of the RV at pickup and save the roadside-assistance number to your phone's favourites before you leave Listowel, two minutes of prep that saves real stress later.

Can I take a Listowel RV rental across the border into the US?

Cross-border trips from Listowel are possible with the right approval. Many hosts allow US travel (Michigan and New York are popular from Perth County), but you must confirm with the host before booking and ensure the listing's coverage extends to US travel. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. The closest US crossings are the Blue Water Bridge at Sarnia (about 1.5 hours from Listowel) and the Ambassador Bridge or Detroit-Windsor Tunnel (about 2.5 to 3 hours). Bring your passport, the vehicle ownership paperwork the host provides, and proof of insurance. Pro tip: a popular RV road trip from Listowel is the Lake Huron Circle Tour, looping through Michigan's Upper Peninsula and back via Sault Ste. Marie, plan 10 to 14 days.
cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/menu-eng.html

What should I budget for fuel on a Listowel RV trip?

Fuel is usually the second-biggest line item after the rental itself, but it's predictable. Class C motorhomes around Listowel typically get 18 to 22 L per 100 km (roughly 11 to 13 mpg), Class B campervans do 12 to 15 L per 100 km, and a truck towing a travel trailer lands around 18 to 25 L per 100 km. Ontario gas prices currently hover around $1.45 to $1.65 per litre, so a 500 km weekend loop in a Class C runs roughly $130 to $160 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Listowel or Palmerston before heading north, prices in small Bruce Peninsula towns like Tobermory can be 10 to 15 cents per litre higher in peak summer.
ontario.ca/page/gasoline-prices

How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Listowel?

Earlier is better, but you have options at every timeline. Ontario Parks opens reservations 5 months ahead to the day at 7 a.m. EST through reservations.ontarioparks.ca, and popular sites at Pinery, MacGregor Point, and Inverhuron sell out within minutes for July and August Friday-Saturday nights. Grand River Conservation Authority parks (like Conestoga Lake) open about 6 months ahead. Private parks such as Saugeen Riverbank, Pike Lake Resort, and Sun Retreats Stratford take bookings year-round and often have midweek availability even in summer. Pro tip: if you missed the 5-month window, check the Ontario Parks reservation site Sunday and Monday mornings, cancellations open up constantly, especially for shorter 2-night stays.

What are the local driving conditions like around Listowel?

Driving around Listowel is genuinely RV-friendly. The town sits at the junction of Highways 23 and 86, both wide, well-maintained two-lane routes through flat farmland, perfect for building confidence. Watch for slow-moving Mennonite horse-drawn buggies on county roads in Perth and Wellington Counties, especially around Milverton and Millbank, and be ready to share the road politely. In winter (December to March), lake-effect snow squalls off Lake Huron can reduce visibility quickly on Highway 86 west of Listowel, check Ontario 511 before driving. Summer storms can bring brief but heavy downpours. Pro tip: avoid driving an RV through downtown Stratford during the Festival season on show-day evenings, parking is tight, instead park at the fairgrounds lot and walk.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Listowel?

Local campgrounds are well-equipped for a comfortable trip. Most private parks near Listowel (Saugeen Riverbank, Pike Lake Resort, Sun Retreats Stratford) offer full hookups, 30-amp or 50-amp electrical, potable water fill stations, dump stations, hot showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, and often pools or beaches. Conservation areas like Conestoga Lake and Wildwood typically have electrical and water hookups with central dump stations. Ontario Parks sites (MacGregor Point, Pinery) range from electrical to no-hookup back-country options, all with comfort stations and dumps on site. Need to dump or fill water mid-trip? The Town of North Perth municipal facility and several gas stations along Highway 23 offer public RV services. Pro tip: download the Sani Dump Station app before your Listowel RV trip, it maps every public dump within 100 km.

What's actually inside the RVs I can rent in Listowel?

More than you'd guess. A typical motorhome rental in Listowel comes fully equipped: a queen or king bed plus convertible dinette and bunks (sleeping 4 to 8), a kitchen with fridge, three-burner propane stove, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, air conditioning, propane furnace, and seatbelted passenger seats. Many listings include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, and onboard Wi-Fi or satellite internet, handy for working remotely from a Lake Huron beachside campground. Travel trailers and fifth wheels offer similar layouts without the cab. Campervan rental Listowel options (Class B) are more compact but include a kitchenette, bed, and often a wet bath. Pro tip: check the listing's Sleeps count and amenity icons carefully, hosts list generators, awnings, and outdoor kitchens right on the page.

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Mileage policies vary, daily km caps with overage fees are standard, and some listings offer unlimited km. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, and a linen kit when you have multiple drivers or kids in tow, you'll roll into Conestoga Lake Conservation Area with nothing to do but pop a chair and relax.

How does the security deposit and payment work?

The process is straightforward and secure. When you book an RV rental in Listowel through RVezy, you pay the rental cost via credit card directly through the platform, no cash, no e-transfers to hosts. A refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your card before pickup, not charged, and released after the host confirms the RV came back in good condition. The protection plan you select handles most accidental damage up to its limits. Pro tip: do a thorough video walk-around with the host at both pickup and drop-off, that short clip prevents most deposit disputes and helps get your hold released faster.
