2020 Forest River Travel Trailer
Thank you! Our family thoroughly enjoyed this rental on our first trip to the East Coast! Nigel was patient with our many pre-trip questions, had the trailer ready to go when we arrived to pickup and was accommodating of our drop-off time too! The trailer was perfectly stocked for our trip. Highly recommend Nigel's trailer to anyone looking for a "home away from home" rental this summer! It's clear why he is a Super-Host!

All previous five star reviews are accurate! Kyle and Connie are lovely people who take the time to ensure you know how to operate all aspects of Sgt Meep. We are total newbies with lots of questions and Kyle patiently answered every one. The RV had absolutely everything we could need, including a spotless, well maintained interior. We are considering a future purchase and they took their time to answer so many additional questions that were totally unrelated to the rental. Good people with a fabulous RV. Thanks for sharing Sgt. Meep with us. Heather & Dave

We had an incredible experience with Ol' Scramper, our trusty RV that exceeded all our needs! Exploring PEI and Nova Scotia during the peak of fall colours was a dream. We splashed in the Atlantic Ocean, drove across the Confederation Bridge with breathtaking views, and enjoyed a scenic ferry ride back. While some tourist spots were closed, having our home on wheels allowed us to park and soak in the stunning landscapes at our own pace. The RV's slide-out provided ample space to prep for a wedding, and the fridge kept our snacks and drinks perfectly chilled. The bathroom was convenient, and dumping was a breeze at a free RV dump. Ol' Scramper was the perfect way to experience the Maritimes' natural beauty – we highly recommend it!

We took Tyler's van for a three-week adventure in PEI, NB, and Quebec in September, and could not have had a better time. Tyler's van is well-designed, and had absolutely everything we needed for a wonderful holiday. The blackout blinds, comfortable bed, and cozy comforter meant that we had great sleeps. Tyler is great to deal with, and responded quickly when we had questions on the road. I can't recommend this van highly enough, and can't wait to take it on the road again.

My family and I just returned from an east coast adventure in this beautiful Class C. Stocked with everything you would need to bring only your food and clothes we had an exceptional time. The RV is clean and everything works as it should. Also very easy to drive. I would describe it more as a car than a 31 foot bus! I will be renting from Didi again! Didi and his wife were more than accommodating with pick up and drop off times. Even allowed an extension after booking our original trip.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Belfast, PE

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Belfast, PE?

An RV rental in Belfast is one of the most affordable ways to explore PEI's south shore. Most travel trailers in the area run about $100 to $180 CAD per night, while Class C motorhomes typically range from $200 to $325 CAD per night, with campervans falling in between. For the best value, book a shoulder-season trip in late May, early June, or September when nightly rates drop and Northumberland Strait beaches still feel warm. Pro tip: look for a cheap RV rental Belfast option with included delivery, so you can skip a tow vehicle altogether. Weekly bookings often unlock host discounts of 10 to 20 percent.

What licence do I need to rent an RV in Belfast?

A regular Class 5 driver's licence (or its equivalent from your home province, state, or country) is all you need to rent an RV in Belfast. No commercial licence, air brake endorsement, or special RV permit is required for motorhomes, campervans, or travel trailers booked through RVezy. Approved drivers are generally 25 or older, and you will upload a photo of your licence through RVezy so your host can confirm your ID before pickup. Visiting from outside Canada or the US? Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your home licence to keep things smooth on the Trans-Canada Highway through Belfast.

Is my Belfast RV rental protected if something goes wrong?

Every booking on RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can rent an RV in Belfast with real peace of mind. The protection plan helps cover accidental damage to the RV during your trip, which removes the biggest worry first-time renters have. You choose your coverage level at checkout (not the host), so you can pick the package that fits your trip, whether you are staying close to Wood Islands or driving the full Points East Coastal Drive. Pro tip: review the protection options before you book so you know exactly what is included, then enjoy the lobster suppers without a second thought.

What happens if I need to cancel my Belfast RV trip?

You can book your Belfast RV trip with confidence because RVezy (not individual hosts) sets one consistent cancellation policy across the platform. There is a grace-period window after booking where you can cancel for a full refund, and additional refund tiers apply depending on how far out you cancel from your trip start date. If a host has to cancel, RVezy refunds you or offers travel credit. Pro tip: book early to lock in the rig you want, then use that grace period to finalize ferry tickets from Wood Islands to Nova Scotia knowing you have flexibility if plans shift.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Belfast?

Yes, pet-friendly RV rental Belfast options are easy to find: just tick the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you will see rigs whose owners welcome your four-legged crew. Many Belfast-area hosts are dog owners themselves and provide little extras like washable mats or a pet towel for sandy paws. Your pup will love Pinette Provincial Park's quiet beach close to Belfast, and Brudenell River Provincial Park (about a 35-minute drive) has on-leash trails through Acadian forest. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee and share your dog's size and breed: most are happy to accommodate.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Belfast?

Yes, RV delivery Belfast is one of the most popular options on RVezy and a game-changer if it is your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will tow the trailer or park the motorhome directly at your campsite, cottage, or even a friend's driveway, then level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. That means no towing, no backing into a tight site, and no setup stress. Just filter for Delivery, enter your destination (Pinette Provincial Park and the Belfast area are popular drop-offs), and message the host for a delivery quote based on distance from their home base.

How far can I drive on a Belfast RV rental, and what is the mileage policy?

You will have plenty of road to roam. Many Belfast hosts include generous daily kilometre allowances (often 200 to 300 km per day), and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is perfect since PEI is only about 280 km end to end. From Belfast you are roughly 30 minutes to Charlottetown, about 90 minutes to Cavendish Beach, around 2.5 hours to North Cape, and just 15 minutes from the Wood Islands ferry. Confederation Bridge trips into New Brunswick are easy too. Pro tip: check the mileage policy on each listing before booking, and if you are planning a full-island loop, message the host to confirm an unlimited add-on for total freedom.

Where are the best campgrounds near Belfast, PE?

You are spoiled for choice for RV camping Belfast. Pinette Provincial Park, just minutes from Belfast, offers quiet waterfront sites with services along the Northumberland Strait. Northumberland Provincial Park near Wood Islands (about 20 minutes south) has hot showers, a heated saltwater pool, and ferry-view sunsets. Brudenell River Provincial Park (about 40 minutes east) features full-service sites, trails, and a beach. For a resort vibe, Cornwall/Charlottetown KOA (about 35 minutes north) has a pool and family activities. Pro tip: PEI's provincial campgrounds open reservations in early spring through the Tourism PEI booking system and fill fast for July and August, so book your dates the same week you confirm your RV.
tourismpei.com/pei-provincial-parks

When is the best time to visit Belfast, PE in an RV?

The sweet spot for a Belfast RV trip is mid-June through mid-September, when daytime highs sit around 20 to 25 degrees Celsius, the Northumberland Strait warms to swimmable temperatures, and lighthouses, lobster suppers, and provincial parks are all open. July and August are peak season with the warmest water and the Cavendish Beach Music Festival nearby. For fewer crowds and lower nightly rates, late May, early June, and the first three weeks of September are gorgeous, with crisp mornings and quieter beaches. Pro tip: late September can bring lovely fall colour along Route 1 and clear, starry nights perfect for stargazing.

I have never driven an RV before. Will I be okay around Belfast?

You will be just fine: Belfast is one of the most beginner-friendly places in Canada to drive an RV. Roads here are flat, well-paved, lightly travelled, and have generous shoulders. Your host will give you a full walkthrough at pickup, covering propane, water, dump valves, levelling, and the awning, and you can message them anytime during your trip. For your first time renting an RV, start with a short drive to a nearby provincial park, practice parking and backing into your site, then build up to the scenic Points East Coastal Drive. Pro tip: choose a Class B campervan or small travel trailer if you want the easiest handling possible.

What if I have a breakdown or roadside issue during my trip?

24/7 roadside assistance is included with RVezy renter protection plans, so help is one phone call away whether you are parked at a provincial park or pulled over on Route 1 near Eldon. The roadside team can help with flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and fuel delivery anywhere on PEI. Your host is also just a message away inside RVezy for quick questions about systems like the water pump or furnace. Pro tip: save the RVezy support number and your host's contact in your phone before you leave the driveway. Cell coverage along the Belfast shoreline is generally strong, so you stay connected.

Can I take my Belfast RV rental off the Island to Nova Scotia or New Brunswick?

Yes, an RV road trip from Belfast across the Maritimes is one of the most popular itineraries on RVezy. Most hosts allow travel to New Brunswick via the Confederation Bridge and to Nova Scotia via the Wood Islands ferry (just 15 minutes away), with RVezy insurance and protection valid across Canada. Just confirm your route with the host when you book so they can approve the mileage. Travel into Mexico is not permitted, and any US travel should be cleared with your host in advance. Popular Maritime drives from Belfast include Halifax, Cape Breton's Cabot Trail, and Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick.

What should I budget for fuel on a Belfast RV trip?

Fuel budgeting is wonderfully predictable for a Belfast RV trip because PEI is so compact. Most Class C motorhomes average about 18 to 22 litres per 100 km, campervans get roughly 12 to 15 L/100km, and a tow vehicle plus travel trailer typically lands around 16 to 20 L/100km. Gasoline prices on PEI are regulated by the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission, so rates are consistent island-wide. Fill up in Charlottetown (about 30 minutes away) for the most pump options. Pro tip: a full week touring Belfast, Cavendish, and the Points East coast rarely tops 500 km, so many travellers spend around $100 to $175 CAD on fuel for the whole trip.
irac.pe.ca/petroleum/

How far in advance should I book a campground near Belfast?

Book early and you will snag the best waterfront sites. PEI provincial park campground reservations open in early spring through the Tourism PEI online booking system, and prime July and August weekends at parks near Belfast can sell out within days. For shoulder-season trips in June or September you can usually book 2 to 4 weeks out. Private parks like Cornwall/Charlottetown KOA take reservations year-round and tend to have more last-minute openings. Pro tip: secure your campsite first, then book your RV on RVezy and use the listing's delivery option to have the rig waiting on arrival, no setup required after a long drive in from the Confederation Bridge or Wood Islands ferry.
tourismpei.com/pei-provincial-parks

What are driving conditions like around Belfast?

Driving around Belfast is genuinely relaxing. Route 1 (the Trans-Canada Highway) runs right through the area with two smooth lanes, wide shoulders, and gentle rolling terrain. Traffic is light outside the morning Charlottetown commute. Watch for slow-moving farm equipment in summer, cyclists on the Points East Coastal Drive, and the occasional fog patch rolling in off the Northumberland Strait at dawn. Posted highway speed limits are typically 90 km/h on Route 1, dropping through populated areas. Winter brings snow and ice from late November through March, so most RVezy trips run May to October. Pro tip: the Wood Islands lighthouse pullout about 15 minutes south is a perfect spot to stretch your legs.
princeedwardisland.ca/en/topic/road-safety

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Belfast?

You will be well looked after at Belfast-area campgrounds. Pinette Provincial Park offers serviced sites, hot showers, and a sandy beach on the Northumberland Strait. Northumberland Provincial Park near Wood Islands adds a heated saltwater pool, kitchen shelters, and a sani-dump station. Brudenell River Provincial Park east of Belfast features full-service sites, laundry, and trails. Potable water fills and dump stations are clearly marked at park entrances. Pro tip: top up fresh water and dump your tanks before leaving any provincial park so you start each leg of your trip with full tanks and an empty grey, this also helps prevent surprises on the road.
tourismpei.com/pei-provincial-parks

What is typically included inside a motorhome rental Belfast?

You will feel right at home from minute one. A typical motorhome rental Belfast comes fully equipped with sleeping for 4 to 8, a kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, an indoor bathroom with toilet and shower, furnace, dining table, and seatbelted travel seats. Most listings include linens, pots and pans, cutlery, and basic outdoor chairs, with many hosts adding extras like Bluetooth stereos, outdoor speakers, generators for off-grid stays, and TVs. Campervan rental Belfast options are smaller (sleeping 2 to 4) but include the same kitchen and bed essentials. Pro tip: check each listing's amenity list and message the host if you need specifics like a coffee maker, beach chairs, or a child booster seat, many will add them at no charge.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Belfast,%20Prince%20Edward%20Island

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about for my Belfast rental?

You have great flexibility. Popular add-ons from Belfast hosts include delivery and setup (often quoted per kilometre from the host's home base), generators, bike racks, kayak racks, propane fire pits, linen and kitchen kits, and mileage upgrades. Pickup is usually at the host's address in or near Belfast, with check-in commonly in the afternoon and return late morning. Many hosts will meet you at the Wood Islands ferry terminal or Charlottetown Airport for a small fee. Pro tip: bundle delivery, linens, and a generator if you are heading to a remote spot along the Points East Coastal Drive, you will save the hassle of hauling gear from home.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Belfast,%20Prince%20Edward%20Island

How does the security deposit and payment work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and secure. When you book your RV rental in Belfast, RVezy charges your card for the trip total at the time of booking, then holds a separate refundable security deposit (the amount depends on the rig) shortly before your trip starts. The deposit is released back to your card after the trip, assuming the RV is returned in the same condition. All payments run through the RVezy platform: never pay your host directly or off-platform. Pro tip: do a quick walkaround video with your host at pickup and dropoff so any pre-existing scratches are documented, this is the single best way to ensure a smooth deposit return.
