We had a fantastic time. Went to Tuscaloosa and Talledaga with 5 people. Tanya/David provided us a cooler, chairs, table, and everything else we needed. We didnt need anything fancy in the RV so this was perfect for us. They were responsive to anything we asked. Would definitely boon again!

2019 Thor Motor Coach Class C
Matt was an an excellent host and attentive to all our questions and concerns. Only downside was that the RV was a rough drive. Didn’t realize seeing that it was our first experience utilizing an RV. In the future I will not rent for a long distance drive. More for local and campground use. We will chalk it up to our experience (or lack there of) rather than anything the host did. Host was professional and accommodating.

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Vance, AL?
Good news: an RV rental in Vance, AL is one of the most affordable ways to explore West Alabama. On RVezy, travel trailers typically start around $90 to $140 per night, campervans run $125 to $200, and larger Class A or Class C motorhomes range from $175 to $300 nightly. Great news for first-time renters: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Vance, AL. Alabama does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal RVs, even larger Class A motorhomes. Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you are set. You will see the full cancellation details that apply to your booking during checkout and in your confirmation email. So if your plans for a Tuscaloosa game weekend or a Talladega camping trip shift, you have flexibility. alapark.com/parks/lake-lurleen-state-parkCan the RV be delivered to my campsite or home in Vance?
Yes, RV delivery in Vance is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if you're new to RVing. Many RVezy hosts will drive the RV directly to your campground, driveway, or a nearby park, level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. That means no towing, no backing into a tight site, and no figuring out the awning on your own. Popular delivery destinations from Vance include Lake Lurleen State Park (about 25 miles), Deerlick Creek (30 miles), and Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park (15 miles). Filter by Delivery on the listing page and check each host's delivery radius and fee, it's a game-changer for first-timers.

Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park has 193 shaded RV sites and Civil War-era ruins to explore, just 15 miles east. For RV camping near Vance with a quieter vibe, try Oak Mountain State Park near Pelham (about 50 minutes). Pro tip: reserve Lake Lurleen and Tannehill 4 to 6 months out for spring and fall weekends, they fill fast.
alapark.com/When is the best time to plan an RV trip from Vance?
Vance shines for RVing from mid-March through late May and again from mid-September through early November, when daytime temperatures sit in the comfortable 65 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit range and humidity drops off. Summers in West Alabama are hot and humid, often 88 to 95 degrees with afternoon thunderstorms, which is why many RVs here come with strong air conditioning and you'll want a campsite with electric hookups for that AC. Winters are mild, typically 40 to 60 degrees during the day, so RV camping in Vance runs year-round. Pro tip: fall weekends overlap with Alabama Crimson Tide football, book your motorhome rental in Vance early if you're heading to a game.
weather.gov/bmx/I've never rented an RV before, will I be okay driving one around Vance?
Yes, first time renting an RV in Vance is genuinely manageable, and your host is your secret weapon. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking through driving tips, leveling, hookups, the awning, the generator, and the bathroom systems. Vance sits along I-20/59 with wide lanes and easy on-ramps, and most local campgrounds have pull-through sites so you barely need to back up. If city driving worries you, skip downtown Birmingham and Tuscaloosa game-day traffic by sticking to highways and rural routes. Pro tip: ask your host to record a quick video walkthrough you can rewatch at the campsite, it's the cheat code every first-timer wishes they'd used.
alea.gov/dps/highway-patrolWhat happens if I break down during my Vance RV trip?
You are never on your own, 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every RVezy booking through the renter protection plan. One call connects you to dispatch for flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, or towing, whether you are parked at Tannehill Ironworks, cruising I-20 toward Birmingham, or near the Talladega National Forest. Your host is also a phone call away for quick troubleshooting on things like generators, slide-outs, or water pumps. Save both numbers in your phone before you leave Vance and keep your booking confirmation handy. Pro tip: do a quick pre-trip walk-around with your host, check tire pressure, fluids, and lights, it knocks out most issues before they happen.

Class B campervans average 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes 8 to 12 MPG, and Class A motorhomes 6 to 10 MPG. Alabama gas prices typically run a bit below the national average, often around $2.85 to $3.20 per gallon, which makes a Vance RV trip a budget-friendly option. For the best sites, plan ahead, especially in spring and fall. Alabama State Parks like Lake Lurleen and Tannehill Ironworks open reservations 12 months in advance through ReserveAmerica, and prime weekends from March through May and September through November book up 3 to 6 months out. Deerlick Creek and other US Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds use Recreation.gov with a 6-month booking window. Weeknights and winter dates are much easier, often available a week or two out. Pro tip: if your dates are locked but the campground shows full, set up a free cancellation alert on Recreation.gov or Campnab, last-minute openings near Vance happen all the time, especially Sunday and Monday nights.
recreation.gov/What are driving conditions like around Vance, AL?
Driving around Vance is refreshingly easy compared to big-city RVing. I-20/59 runs right past town with wide lanes, gentle grades, and plenty of truck stops, perfect for a first motorhome rental in Vance. Two-lane state highways like AL-216 and US-11 are scenic and low-stress. Watch for afternoon thunderstorms from June through August, they can drop visibility fast, so pull off if it gets heavy. Deer are active at dawn and dusk on rural roads, so slow down after sunset. Avoid downtown Tuscaloosa on Alabama football Saturdays, traffic gridlocks for miles. Pro tip: the back route via AL-216 and Old Greensboro Road bypasses game-day traffic and is one of the prettiest drives in West Alabama.

If you need to dump or refill between trips, Love's Travel Stop at I-20 Exit 89 in Vance has an RV dump and fresh water. Cell service is strong on AT&T and Verizon throughout the area, though it weakens slightly inside Talladega National Forest. Pro tip: pack a 25-foot drinking-water hose and a 30-amp to 50-amp adapter, they cover almost every hookup you'll meet.

A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment for the duration of your trip, with the amount set by the host and shown on the listing.
