For a first time private renter, I must say I was very please with the RV! It was exactly as pictured and described. The pop-outs made for increased space and all areas were comfy. The RV was well maintained and clean. Everything was in working order though the generator and shower pluming were out of order, which I was informed well before my trip and had accommodations at my destination. The vehicle operated very easily and there were no mechanical issues at all. The AC, fridge and microwave worked perfectly. This RV made me very envious of owning my own!

I've never rented an RV before, will I be okay driving in the Ozarks?

You've got this, and your host has your back. Every RVezy rental in Ozark, AR begins with a hands-on walkthrough where the owner shows you how to operate the generator, slide-outs, water systems, propane, and dump valves before you ever turn a key. The roads around Ozark are very manageable: Interstate 40 runs straight through town for easy highway driving, and Highway 64 offers a flatter alternative if you'd rather skip the curves. Save the famously twisty Pig Trail (Highway 23) for once you're comfortable. Pro tip: pick a smaller Class C motorhome or campervan for your first time, they drive much more like a truck than a bus and make tight Ozark forest roads stress-free.

What are the roads like for driving an RV around Ozark?

Ozark sits right on Interstate 40, which makes the approach into town a breeze for any size rig. Highway 64 is a flat, easy alternative that runs parallel to I-40. Once you head north into the Ozark National Forest, things get more interesting: Highway 23 (the Pig Trail) is famously twisty with steep grades and tight switchbacks, gorgeous but slow going. Highway 21 to Boxley Valley is similar. Larger Class A coaches do fine on I-40 and Highway 64 but should plan ahead on mountain routes. Summer afternoons bring quick thunderstorms, and winter ice is occasional but real. Pro tip: drive mountain roads in the morning when traffic is light and visibility is best, then settle into camp before the afternoon storms roll through.

National Forest sites like Shores Lake and Redding are more primitive (vault toilets, no hookups) but offer dump stations and water fills nearby. Free dump stations are also available at the Pilot Travel Center on I-40 in Alma. Pro tip: if you're boondocking in the Ozark National Forest, fill your fresh tank at Aux Arc before heading up, potable water spigots get rare past Highway 23.
