Carlos went out of his way to make everything work. It was an especially crowded weekend in Miami with a lot of traffic, and Carlos delivered the RV like a professional. The RV itself, is extremely accommodating. Our favorite part where the wonderful meals we had. My family really enjoyed it. Everything was as described or better. It came with bedding, and everything you need for a wonderful experience. Everything was perfectly clean, and smelled good, etc. Don't take that for granted, sometimes RVs have a little smell to them. Carlos keeps this one smelling fantastic. It was clean, it was nice, and I would highly recommend.

What license do I need to rent an RV in The Crossings, Florida?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in The Crossings, FL. Florida does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal-use motorhomes, campervans, or travel trailers available on RVezy. To be an approved driver on RVezy you generally need to be 25 or older and complete a quick ID verification when you book. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto association. Most first-time renters are surprised how simple the paperwork is, so you can focus on planning your Everglades sunset instead of red tape.

What if I need to cancel my RV rental in The Crossings?

Booking is low-risk because RVezy (not the individual host) sets the cancellation policy that applies to every reservation, so the rules are consistent across listings. Whether your plans shift because of a tropical storm warning, a flight change, or a family emergency, the platform-wide policy is designed to be fair to both guests and hosts. Because the cancellation policy is not displayed on individual listings, review the current guest cancellation policy in the RVezy Help Center before you book so you know exactly how refunds and timing work. Pro tip: book early to lock in your preferred RV for a Florida Keys getaway, knowing the same clear policy applies.

Can I bring my dog on an RV rental in The Crossings?

Absolutely, pet-friendly RV rental in The Crossings is easy to find. On RVezy, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter and you'll see plenty of motorhomes and travel trailers whose hosts welcome dogs (some allow cats too). Once you've booked, South Florida is a fantastic place to travel with your pup: Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park has shaded, leashed-dog-friendly loops, Matheson Hammock Park has a dog-friendly beach area, and Amelia Earhart Park in nearby Hialeah has a dedicated off-leash bark park. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee and breed notes, and pack a cooling mat because Miami-Dade pavement gets hot by mid-morning even in winter.

Can the RV be delivered to me in The Crossings instead of picking it up?

Yes, RV delivery in The Crossings is one of the most popular options on the platform, and it's a game-changer if you're a first-time renter or flying into Miami International Airport (MIA) without a tow vehicle. Many local hosts will drive the RV to your driveway, hotel, marina, or directly to a campground like Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park or Miami Everglades RV Resort in Homestead. They'll set up the slides, level the rig, connect hookups, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy to see hosts who offer it, then message them with your delivery address for an exact quote. Pro tip: campground delivery means you skip city traffic entirely.

Miami Everglades RV Resort in Homestead (about 15 miles southwest) has 327 sites, a pool, and easy access to Everglades National Park. Goldcoaster RV Resort in Homestead is a gated, snowbird-friendly resort about 20 miles south. When is the best time of year for an RV trip from The Crossings?

The sweet spot for RV camping in The Crossings is mid-November through April, when daytime highs sit comfortably in the upper 70s to low 80s°F, humidity drops, and mosquitoes go on vacation. This is South Florida's dry season, perfect for exploring Everglades National Park (which is actually best in winter when wildlife concentrates around water holes) and the Florida Keys. Summer (June to September) runs hot and humid in the low 90s°F with daily afternoon thunderstorms and active hurricane season through November 30. If you do book a summer rental, you'll score lower rates and quieter campgrounds. Pro tip: late January and February are peak snowbird months, so reserve your RV and your campsite at least 60 to 90 days ahead.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay?

You'll do great, and you won't be figuring it out alone. Every RVezy host provides a full orientation and walkthrough at pickup, showing you how to operate the awning, slides, generator, propane, water systems, and waste tanks. First time renting an RV from The Crossings? Start with a Class B campervan or a smaller Class C motorhome (22-25 feet), which handle like a large van and fit easily in Florida campgrounds and grocery store lots. Stick to highways like the Florida Turnpike and US-1 for your first day and avoid downtown Miami and South Beach until you're comfortable. Pro tip: ask your host to record a short walkthrough video on your phone so you can rewatch the tank-dump steps later.

What happens if the RV breaks down during my trip?

You're covered around the clock. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so if you get a flat on the Overseas Highway, a dead battery at Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park, or a generator hiccup in the Everglades, one phone call gets help dispatched. Your host is also typically just a text away to walk you through quick fixes (sometimes it's just a tripped GFCI outlet or a closed propane valve). RVezy's customer support team is reachable before, during, and after your trip too. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number in your phone before you leave The Crossings, and snap a photo of the RV's VIN and license plate for faster service.

Can I take the RV across state lines or into Canada or Mexico?

Driving across U.S. state lines is generally fine, so a Florida-to-Georgia-to-the-Carolinas road trip from The Crossings is totally doable, and many guests use rentals here as the starting point for Gulf Coast or East Coast adventures. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance and protection coverage does not extend there. Cross-border travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host and coverage, so message the host directly through the listing before booking if that's part of your plan. Pro tip: a popular RV road trip from The Crossings is the 4-day loop through the Florida Keys, the Tamiami Trail, and Naples, all without leaving the state.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validity

How much should I budget for fuel on a Florida RV trip?

Fuel is the biggest variable in your budget, but it's manageable with a little planning. Florida gas prices typically run close to the national average (recently around $3.10-$3.40 per gallon for regular, slightly more for diesel). A Class C motorhome averages 8-10 miles per gallon (mpg), a Class B campervan returns 15-20 mpg, and a travel trailer reduces your tow vehicle by about 30-40%. For a 4-day, 400-mile loop from The Crossings to Key West and back in a Class C, plan on roughly $150-$200 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up at the Pilot or Love's near Florida City before heading into the Keys, where prices climb noticeably the farther south you drive on US-1.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campsite near The Crossings?

For South Florida's prime dry season (December through April), book campsites as early as possible. Florida State Parks open reservations 11 months ahead through the Florida State Parks reservation system, and Everglades National Park's Flamingo and Long Pine Key campgrounds open up to 6 months ahead on Recreation.gov. Private parks like Miami Everglades RV Resort and Goldcoaster often fill 2 to 4 months out for winter weekends. For summer trips, you can often grab a site a week or two ahead. Pro tip: if you strike out on Flamingo, check John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Key Largo (about 50 miles south) right when the booking window opens, that's when cancellations and new inventory drop.

What's driving like around The Crossings and greater Miami?

The Crossings sits in west Kendall, a suburban area with wide roads (Kendall Drive, Coral Reef Drive, SW 137th Avenue) that are easy to navigate in any RV size. The keys to a smooth motorhome rental in The Crossings: avoid I-95 and the downtown Miami core during rush hour (7-9 a.m. and 4-7 p.m.), watch for 11-foot clearance signs on older overpasses in Coconut Grove and South Beach, and skip Ocean Drive entirely (low palms and tight turns). The Florida Turnpike, US-1 south, and the Tamiami Trail (US-41) west are all RV-friendly. Pro tip: afternoon thunderstorms from June to September can drop visibility fast, so plan to be parked by 3 p.m. in summer.
fdot.gov/traffic/

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near The Crossings?

South Florida campgrounds are well-equipped for RV travelers. Most parks within 30 miles of The Crossings, including Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park, Miami Everglades RV Resort, and Goldcoaster RV Resort, offer full hookups (water, 30/50-amp electric, and sewer), Wi-Fi, laundry, swimming pools, and on-site dump stations. Need to dump or fill water mid-trip? Larry and Penny Thompson and the Pilot Travel Center in Florida City both offer dump services to non-guests for a small fee. Cell service is strong everywhere except deep inside Everglades National Park. Pro tip: book a 50-amp site if your rental has two air conditioners, you'll absolutely want both running during a Miami summer evening.
miamidade.gov/global/parks/camping.page

What's actually inside the RVs I can rent in The Crossings?

You'll find a real rolling apartment. Most RV rentals in The Crossings come fully equipped with sleeping for 2-8 (queen or king beds plus convertible dinettes), a kitchen with refrigerator, freezer, microwave, propane stove, and sink, a wet or dry bathroom with toilet and shower, roof-mounted air conditioning (essential in Florida), and seatbelted travel seats. Many also include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor shower, awning, and onboard generator for off-grid power. Wi-Fi varies, so ask the host if you need to work remotely. Pro tip: a campervan rental in The Crossings is perfect for couples wanting nimble Keys driving, while a Class C is the sweet spot for a family RV trip in The Crossings with kids who need their own bunks.

What add-ons can I get, and how do pickup and drop-off work?

Hosts offer a buffet of add-ons that make life easier: linens and bedding packages ($25-$75), kitchen kits with cookware and dishes ($25-$50), camping chairs and outdoor mats ($15-$30), generators or extra propane, bike racks, kayak racks, and even pre-stocked groceries. Pickup and drop-off times are set by the host (typically late morning for pickup, late morning for return) and happen at the host's address in or near The Crossings, with delivery to your home, hotel, or campground available from many hosts for a flat fee based on distance. Each listing shows the included daily mileage, generator hours, and any overage rates. Pro tip: add a bike rack and ride the Underline trail or Old Cutler Bike Path during your stay.
miamidade.gov/global/transportation/home.page

How does payment and the security deposit work for an RV rental in The Crossings?

Payment is straightforward and fully handled through RVezy: no cash, no awkward Venmo requests with strangers. You pay the trip total (nightly rate, fees, taxes, and your chosen protection plan) securely on the platform when you book. A refundable security deposit is handled separately from the booking payment and released back to your card after the trip wraps up cleanly. The deposit amount varies by RV and is shown clearly before you confirm. Pro tip: to avoid any deposit issues on your RV rental in Florida, take time-stamped photos of the interior, exterior, odometer, and fuel level at pickup and again at drop-off. Most hosts appreciate it, and it protects everyone if there's ever a question.

What's a great insider weekend itinerary from The Crossings?

Here's a local favorite that uses The Crossings as your launchpad. Day 1: pick up your RV, stock groceries at the Publix on Kendall Drive, and drive 25 minutes south to Schnebly Redland's Winery in Homestead for tropical fruit wines, then overnight at Goldcoaster RV Resort. Day 2: head into Everglades National Park (entrance 15 minutes from Homestead), do the Anhinga Trail at dawn for guaranteed gator sightings, then drive the 38 miles down to Flamingo Campground for sunset over Florida Bay. Day 3: take US-1 to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Key Largo for snorkeling. Pro tip: stop at Robert Is Here fruit stand on SW 192nd Avenue for a key lime milkshake, it's a non-negotiable South Florida ritual.
