Carlos went out of his way to make everything work. It was an especially crowded weekend in Miami with a lot of traffic, and Carlos delivered the RV like a professional. The RV itself, is extremely accommodating. Our favorite part where the wonderful meals we had. My family really enjoyed it. Everything was as described or better. It came with bedding, and everything you need for a wonderful experience. Everything was perfectly clean, and smelled good, etc. Don't take that for granted, sometimes RVs have a little smell to them. Carlos keeps this one smelling fantastic. It was clean, it was nice, and I would highly recommend.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Hialeah, FL

How much does an RV rental in Hialeah cost?

RV rental in Hialeah is more affordable than you might think, with most peer-to-peer rentals on RVezy ranging from about $90 to $200 per night for travel trailers and campervans, and $200 to $400 per night for larger Class A and Class C motorhomes. Snowbird season (December through March) drives the highest prices, so booking a cheap RV rental in Hialeah during the May to early November shoulder months can save you 20 to 30 percent. Pro tip: filter for weekly or monthly discounts, since many Hialeah hosts drop nightly rates significantly for stays of seven nights or longer, perfect for exploring Miami, the Everglades, and the Keys at a relaxed pace.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Hialeah, FL?

Good news: a regular Florida driver's license (or your home state or country's equivalent) is all you need to rent an RV in Hialeah. Florida does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or special RV endorsement for the motorhomes and travel trailers available on RVezy. Approved drivers on RVezy are generally required to be at least 25 years old, and your ID is verified through the RVezy platform during booking. Visiting from abroad? Pair your home license with an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto association before you fly in, and you'll be cleared to hit I-95 or the Florida Turnpike like a local.

Is my RV rental in Hialeah protected if something goes wrong?

Yes, every RV rental in Hialeah booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the road with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers most damages to the vehicle, and you choose your coverage tier (not the host) during checkout, so you can pick the option that matches your comfort level and budget. Pro tip: review the coverage tiers carefully before confirming, since the higher tiers often pay for themselves the first time a stray palm frond meets your awning on US-1.

What if I need to cancel my Hialeah RV trip?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual Hialeah hosts), and refund eligibility depends on how far out you cancel relative to your trip start date. South Florida travelers should also keep an eye on hurricane warnings during the June to November Atlantic hurricane season. If a named storm threatens your travel window, RVezy's support team is reachable to help you adjust. Pro tip: book early for snowbird season, but watch the National Hurricane Center forecasts in late summer so you can plan with confidence.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Hialeah?

Absolutely, pet-friendly RV rental in Hialeah is easy to find on RVezy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on the search page and you'll see dozens of motorhomes and travel trailers from hosts who welcome dogs (and sometimes cats) along for the ride. Hialeah and the wider Miami area are full of dog-friendly stops: Amelia Earhart Park has off-leash areas and lakes, and Hollywood Beach Broadwalk allows leashed dogs in the early morning and evening. Larry and Penny Thompson Park, about 20 miles south, also welcomes pets at its campground. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee and ask about their favorite local dog parks.

Can the RV be delivered to me in Hialeah?

Yes, RV delivery in Hialeah is one of the most popular options, especially for first-time renters and travelers flying into Miami International Airport (MIA), which sits just minutes from Hialeah. Many RVezy hosts will drive the RV to your campground, hotel, vacation rental, or even your driveway, set it up with the hookups, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Use the Delivery filter on the search page to see hosts who offer this, then message them for a quote based on your address. Pro tip: ask for delivery directly to Larry and Penny Thompson Park or Miami Everglades Resort so your vacation starts the moment you arrive.

How far can I travel on a Hialeah RV trip?

You can cover serious ground on a Hialeah RV trip. From Hialeah, Key Largo is about 65 miles south via the Florida Turnpike and US-1, Key West is roughly 160 miles, the main Everglades National Park entrance at Homestead is around 35 miles, Naples on the Gulf Coast is 125 miles via Alligator Alley (I-75), and Orlando's theme parks are about 235 miles north on the Turnpike. Each Hialeah host sets their own mileage policy, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is ideal if you're planning a longer road trip from Hialeah. Pro tip: filter listings by mileage allowance and message hosts about extra-mileage rates before booking the bigger loop.

Where are the best campgrounds near Hialeah for RV camping?

There are excellent options for RV camping in Hialeah and the surrounding area. Miami Everglades RV Resort in Southwest Miami-Dade sits on 34 tropical acres with full hookups and a heated pool, perfect as a base for Everglades day trips. Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park, about 20 miles south, offers 240 sites with electric and water near Zoo Miami. Goldcoaster RV Resort in Homestead is a gated park close to both Biscayne and Everglades National Parks. Up in Broward County, C.B. Smith Park in Pembroke Pines features 60 full-hookup sites with a water park onsite. Pro tip: book Miami Everglades and Goldcoaster three to six months ahead for January through March snowbird season.

When is the best time to visit Hialeah in an RV?

The sweet spot for RV camping in Hialeah is November through April, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 70 to 82 degree Fahrenheit range, humidity drops, and mosquitoes back off, especially in the Everglades. December through March is peak snowbird season with the best weather but the highest rates and busiest campgrounds. Late April, May, and early November are shoulder-season gold: warm, sunny, and noticeably cheaper. Summer (June to October) brings 90-plus degree heat, daily afternoon thunderstorms, and Atlantic hurricane season, though early mornings on the beach are still magical. Pro tip: a March visit lines up perfectly with Calle Ocho festivities in nearby Little Havana, a true Miami experience.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving in Miami traffic?

You've got this, even if it's your first time renting an RV. Every RVezy host in Hialeah gives a thorough pickup walkthrough covering driving tips, slide-outs, hookups, and the dump station, so you won't be left guessing. For driving confidence, choose a Class B campervan or smaller Class C motorhome (under 25 feet) if you're nervous about Miami traffic on I-95 or the Palmetto Expressway (SR 826). Plan to leave Hialeah outside of rush hour (avoid 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.) and you'll find highway driving much calmer. Pro tip: pick delivery if you'd rather skip the city drive entirely and start your trip at a campground.
fdot.gov/traffic/

What happens if my RV breaks down during my trip?

You're covered: every RVezy booking in Hialeah includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you're stuck on the Florida Turnpike, somewhere along Tamiami Trail near the Everglades, or down in the Keys on US-1. Roadside support handles common issues like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and towing. Your host is also just a message away in the RVezy app and usually knows their RV inside and out. Pro tip: snap a quick photo of the tire pressure sticker and propane shut-off during your walkthrough so you can troubleshoot small things yourself before calling, especially in cell-spotty parts of the Everglades.

Can I drive my Hialeah RV rental into other states or countries?

Yes, interstate travel is welcome on most RVezy rentals from Hialeah, so a road trip up to Orlando, the Florida Panhandle, Savannah, or even the Smoky Mountains is totally on the table. Just confirm long-distance plans with your host through the listing page before booking, since some have mileage caps. Important to know: travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance coverage does not extend there. Trips into Canada may be possible with host approval, though it's a long haul from South Florida. Pro tip: a popular RV road trip from Hialeah is the Overseas Highway to Key West, then up through Naples and Sanibel on the Gulf Coast.
fdot.gov/agencyresources/maps

What kind of fuel mileage should I budget for in South Florida?

Budgeting fuel is straightforward in flat South Florida, which is actually friendlier on mileage than mountainous regions. Class B campervans get about 18 to 22 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes average 10 to 14 MPG, and large Class A motorhomes typically deliver 7 to 10 MPG. Most rentals run on regular unleaded, and gas prices in the Hialeah and Miami area generally hover near the Florida state average, with cheaper stations along US-27 and the Turnpike than at MIA-adjacent stops. For a 300-mile round trip to Key West in a Class C, plan on roughly $90 to $110 in fuel. Pro tip: download the GasBuddy app and fill up in Florida City before heading into the Keys, where prices jump noticeably.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near Hialeah?

Earlier is better, especially for the high season. For November through April stays at popular spots like Miami Everglades RV Resort, Goldcoaster RV Resort, and Larry and Penny Thompson Park, aim to book three to six months ahead, with January through March snowbird weekends often filling up six-plus months out. Everglades National Park's Long Pine Key and Flamingo Campground reservations open through Recreation.gov six months in advance and go fast. Summer and shoulder seasons are much more flexible, often bookable a week or two out. Pro tip: if your preferred park is full, set a cancellation alert on Recreation.gov, since spots routinely free up within 48 hours of arrival.
recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232466

What are driving conditions like around Hialeah?

Hialeah sits in the heart of Greater Miami, so expect busy urban driving on the Palmetto Expressway (SR 826), I-75, and the Florida Turnpike, plus tight residential streets in the historic core. The terrain is famously flat (no mountain passes, no grades), which makes RV driving easier once you're out of traffic. Watch for low clearances on older overpasses (a few drop below 12 feet) and avoid downtown Miami's MacArthur and Venetian Causeways in larger rigs. Summer afternoons bring intense thunderstorms with brief flooding on low streets, so plan driving for mornings. Pro tip: stick to the Turnpike or I-75 over surface streets when you're heading to the Everglades or the Keys for a smoother experience.
fl511.com/

What amenities do campgrounds near Hialeah typically offer?

Campgrounds near Hialeah are well-equipped for a comfortable stay. Most established RV parks like Miami Everglades RV Resort, Goldcoaster, and C.B. Smith Park offer full hookups (30 and 50 amp electric, water, sewer), Wi-Fi, laundry, heated pools, and onsite dump stations. County parks such as Larry and Penny Thompson and C.B. Smith add bonuses like swimming lagoons, water parks, and miles of paved trails. If you're heading to Everglades National Park's Long Pine Key, expect a more rustic setup with no hookups but flush toilets and a nearby dump station. Pro tip: fill your freshwater tank before leaving Hialeah, since potable fill stations are spaced out along the route to the Keys and through the Everglades.
nps.gov/ever/planyourvisit/lpkcamp.htm

What features and amenities come inside the RVs?

RVs on RVezy in Hialeah are personally owned and well-loved, so most come stocked and ready to enjoy. Expect a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with toilet and shower, comfortable sleeping for 2 to 8 depending on layout, air conditioning (essential in South Florida), and seatbelted travel seats. Many include flat-screen TVs, Bluetooth stereos, outdoor awnings, and onboard generators for off-grid stops. Wi-Fi varies; some hosts include a mobile hotspot for an extra fee. For a motorhome rental in Hialeah, look for listings with strong A/C (15,000 BTU or higher) to handle Miami summer heat. Pro tip: check the listing's Amenities section for outdoor showers, perfect for rinsing off after a beach day at Crandon Park or Bill Baggs Cape Florida.
floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/bill-baggs-cape-florida-state-park

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Hialeah hosts offer plenty of add-ons to customize your trip. Common extras include kitchen kits, bedding and linens, camping chairs, bikes, paddleboards, generators, portable grills, and Wi-Fi hotspots, typically ranging from $25 to $150 each for the trip. Pickup logistics are flexible: meet at the host's address, arrange RV delivery in Hialeah to MIA-area hotels and campgrounds, or set up curbside handoff. Mileage policies vary, with many hosts offering 100 to 150 free miles per night and some advertising unlimited mileage for an upcharge, perfect for a longer RV road trip from Hialeah. Pro tip: bundle delivery plus a stocked kitchen kit when flying in, you'll skip a Walmart run and start vacationing the second the keys hit your hand.
miami-airport.com/ground_transportation.asp

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment is simple and secure through the RVezy platform: you pay online with a credit or debit card when you book, and the trip total covers the nightly rate, protection plan, service fees, and any add-ons you've selected. Hosts also collect a refundable security deposit (commonly $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV's value), which is held separately from your booking payment and released after the trip once the host confirms the RV is returned in the same condition. To avoid issues, do a detailed walkthrough video at pickup and dropoff, and return the RV with the agreed fuel and propane levels. Pro tip: keep your dump-station receipt as proof in case any questions come up later.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

Where can I legally park an RV overnight in Hialeah outside a campground?

In Hialeah and Miami-Dade County, the safe answer is to stay at a campground or RV park overnight rather than on public streets. Miami-Dade County code allows RVs to be parked at developed residential properties under specific conditions (registered, under 30 feet long, under 10 feet tall), but RVs cannot be used as living quarters there, and Florida rest areas have a 3-hour limit, so they don't work for overnight stays. Your best bets close in are Miami Everglades RV Resort, Larry and Penny Thompson Park, and Goldcoaster RV Resort. Pro tip: if you need a quick stopover between destinations, the Miccosukee Resort on Tamiami Trail west of Miami has allowed RV overnighting in its large lot, just call ahead to confirm.
