I would to thank Carlos Acuna and his wife the the excellent rental RV they provided for me at the EAA Sun-n-Fun event in Lakeland, Florida recently. They provided a beautiful and extremely clean RV for us. They accomplished a complete setup and gave me a very good briefing on the operational aspects of the RV. The personal touches such as the personalized Welcome sign, snacks, coffee, and other items were greatly appreciated. I will definitely attempt to rent from them again in the future.

Miguel and Anna were amazing to rent from. Miguel installed my Wieght Distrobution Hitch and attached to our Truck. Anna was warm and considerate, chatting with us both before we left and again when we returned the camper. Anna also provided us oranges as a gift how nice is that! I would recommend this rental to others.

Great Experience! I Highly recommend! All you need to do is bring yourself, your clothes, and some food. Just about everything else is provided. They have a weight distribution hitch (which saved me a lot of money). They even had the cable to hook up my generator. Their A/C blew ice cold air, the refrigerator kept everything cold and the freezer worked perfectly. If you can get fresh water, you leave and have hot showers! All you have to do is back up your vehicle, hitch it up and go have fun. The owners are Very helpful and communicate very quickly to help with any questions you have. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend them. Thank you so much for a great experience.

Travel trailers typically start around $95 to $140 per night, Class C motorhomes generally run $150 to $235, and larger Class A coaches sit at the top of the range. What license do I need to rent an RV in Highland City, FL?

Great news, a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Highland City, FL. Florida does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal-use RVs, even larger Class A motorhomes you might rent for a trip to LEGOLAND or the Gulf Coast. You'll just need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID securely through the booking platform, so there's no paperwork shuffle at pickup. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Grab an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home auto association before you fly in. Most first-time renters are surprised how quick the whole process is.

Absolutely, dogs are very welcome on the road here. Plenty of Highland City hosts offer a pet-friendly RV rental: just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see them instantly. Once you're rolling, your pup will love Loyce E. Harpe Park in nearby Mulberry, which has shaded trails and a dog-friendly area a short drive from Highland City. Camp Margaritaville RV Resort in Auburndale features on-site dog parks, and Sanlan RV Resort in Lakeland welcomes pets across its large wooded property. Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Highland City?

Yes, RV delivery in Highland City is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers. Many local hosts will tow the trailer or drive the motorhome straight to your campground, vacation home driveway, or event site, then level it, hook up water, electric, and sewer, and walk you through every system before they leave. That means no nervous backing into a tight site at Saddle Creek Park or Sanlan RV Resort: you just show up and start your vacation. Delivery fees are typically based on distance, and many hosts will deliver to Auburndale, Bartow, Mulberry, Winter Haven, and the SUN 'n FUN grounds in Lakeland. Pro tip: filter by Delivery in your search to see qualifying RVs right away.

How far can I drive on my Highland City RV trip?

You've got serious range from Highland City, which sits near the crossroads of I-4 and US-98 in central Polk County. Most hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night, and some offer an RV rental with unlimited mileage, perfect for a longer Florida loop. From Highland City you're about 35 miles to Tampa, 55 miles to Walt Disney World in Orlando, 90 miles to Sarasota's Siesta Key Beach, 110 miles to Cape Canaveral, and roughly 200 miles to the Florida Keys gateway in Homestead. A popular RV road trip from Highland City is the Gulf-to-Atlantic loop hitting Clearwater, Sebring, and Cocoa Beach. Pro tip: ask your host about an unlimited-mileage add-on if you're planning more than 200 miles a day.

Where should I stay with my RV near Highland City, FL?

You've got fantastic options for RV camping Highland City visitors love, most within a 20-minute drive. Sanlan RV Resort in Lakeland offers full hookups, an on-site golf course, and a large wooded property with a wildlife area. Saddle Creek Park in Lakeland is a Polk County gem with lakeside sites and excellent birding. Camp Margaritaville RV Resort in Auburndale has hundreds of sites, multiple pools, and family amenities. Cypress Campground & RV Park in Winter Haven is family-friendly and open year-round, and Lake Juliana Boating & Lodge sits on a quiet lake near Auburndale. Pro tip: these are some of the best campgrounds near Highland City, and snowbird season (December through March) books out fast, so reserve early.

When is the best time to rent an RV in Highland City, FL?

Highland City is a true year-round RV destination thanks to its humid subtropical climate, but the sweet spot is October through April. During those months daytime highs generally run about 70 to 82°F with lower humidity and limited rainfall, ideal for campfires at Saddle Creek or kayaking on Lake Hancock. Summer (June through September) brings highs in the low 90s, high heat indices, and near-daily afternoon thunderstorms, so plan early-morning drives and AC-friendly campsites. Winter overnight lows are typically in the 50s, making a December or January Highland City RV trip a snowbird favorite. Pro tip: book your motorhome rental Highland City stay for February or March if you want warm weather without summer storms.

I've never rented an RV before, will I be okay?

Yes, first time renting an RV in Highland City is genuinely easy on RVezy. Every host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup or delivery, walking you through the generator, slide-outs, water hookups, propane, and dump valves so nothing is a mystery. You can message your host beforehand with questions, and 24/7 roadside assistance is included if you need help on the road. Central Florida is one of the friendliest places to learn: flat terrain, wide highways like I-4 and the Polk Parkway, and big-rig-friendly campgrounds like Sanlan and Camp Margaritaville. Pro tip: choose a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer for your first trip, they drive much like a large van or pickup.

What if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?

You're never on your own: 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every RVezy booking. Whether you've got a flat tire on US-98, a dead battery at Saddle Creek Park, or a slide-out that won't retract at Camp Margaritaville, one phone call connects you to dispatch for tows, jump-starts, lockouts, and tire service. Your host is also a message away through the RVezy app for quick questions about systems specific to their RV, and the RVezy support team is available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: save the roadside number in your phone as soon as you book so it's ready before you pull out of Highland City.

Can I take my Highland City RV rental out of state or into Canada?

Yes, cross-state travel is totally doable: many guests take their Highland City RV up to Georgia's Okefenokee Swamp, the Smoky Mountains, or even the Outer Banks. Travel to Canada may also be allowed, but because it involves crossing an international border and additional coverage considerations, confirm directly with your host before booking through the listing's message function. Important note: travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because protection coverage does not extend across that border. Within the U.S., popular routes from Highland City include the Florida Panhandle (about 6 hours to Destin) and the Keys (about 6 hours to Key Largo). Pro tip: share your full itinerary with the host upfront so they can confirm mileage and route fit.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validity

What kind of fuel mileage should I expect, and how do I budget for gas?

Fuel costs in Highland City are manageable with a little planning. Expect roughly 8 to 10 mpg for a Class A motorhome, 10 to 14 mpg for a Class C, 15 to 20 mpg for a Class B campervan, and 12 to 18 mpg for a tow vehicle pulling a travel trailer. Florida gas prices typically run a bit below the national average, and you'll find convenient fuel stops at Wawa, RaceTrac, and Pilot along US-98 and I-4 near Highland City. For a 4-night, 300-mile loop in a Class C, budget roughly $120 to $180 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Lakeland or Bartow rather than at Disney-area stations where prices tend to be higher.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Highland City?

Booking early pays off in central Florida. For snowbird season (December through March), reserve 6 to 9 months ahead at popular spots like Sanlan RV Resort, Camp Margaritaville Auburndale, and Lake Juliana Boating & Lodge. Florida State Park campgrounds, including Lake Kissimmee State Park about 30 minutes east, open reservations 11 months in advance through the official Florida State Parks reservation system, and prime waterfront sites can disappear within minutes. Polk County parks like Saddle Creek take reservations through the county system. Summer and shoulder months are much easier, often bookable just a week out. Pro tip: midweek arrivals (Sunday through Wednesday) almost always have openings, even during peak season near Highland City.

What are the driving conditions like around Highland City?

Highland City is one of the easier places in Florida to drive an RV. Roads are flat, wide, and well-maintained, with the Polk Parkway (SR 570) and I-4 providing fast access to Tampa (35 miles west) and Orlando (55 miles northeast). US-98 runs right through town and connects you to Bartow, Lakeland, and Sebring. Watch for sudden afternoon thunderstorms June through September, the heavy downpours can reduce visibility quickly, so pull over if needed. Hurricane season runs June through November, so check forecasts before long trips. Avoid downtown Lakeland at rush hour and Florida Polytechnic University during major events. Pro tip: if I-4 traffic looks heavy on Google Maps, take the Polk Parkway as a calmer toll-road alternative.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Highland City?

Campgrounds around Highland City are well-equipped and easy on first-timers. Most full-service parks, including Sanlan RV Resort, Camp Margaritaville Auburndale, and Cypress Campground & RV Park, offer 30/50-amp electric, fresh water, sewer hookups, WiFi, modern bathhouses, laundry, and pools. Dump stations are available on-site at every major park, and several travel centers along I-4 in Auburndale offer public dump access if you're between sites. Potable water fills are easy at any full-hookup site or at most Florida State Parks. Pro tip: Saddle Creek Park in Lakeland is a quieter Polk County option with electric and water but no sewer at the site, just use the on-site dump on your way out.

What's actually inside the RVs on RVezy in Highland City?

You'll be impressed by how livable these RVs are. Most Highland City listings come fully stocked: a real bed (queen or king in many), full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with shower and toilet, dining area, AC and heat, and seatbelted seats for travel. Larger Class A and Class C motorhomes often add a flat-screen TV, generator for off-grid power, outdoor speakers, and slide-outs for extra space. Travel trailers and fifth wheels offer similar comforts when towed. WiFi varies by host, some include a hotspot, others rely on your phone, so ask before booking. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps and Bathroom on RVezy to match the RV to your group size for your Highland City RV trip.

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Hosts in Highland City offer useful add-ons that can make your trip easier. Common extras include bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits, generators, bike racks, kayaks, outdoor grills, and propane top-ups. Most hosts set mileage policies around 100 to 150 free miles per night, with extra miles available at a per-mile rate, and a handful offer unlimited mileage for road-trippers. Pickup is typically at the host's home in Highland City, Lakeland, Mulberry, or Bartow, and many provide delivery to your campground or vacation rental for a flat fee. Pro tip: bundle the linen kit and kitchen kit if you're flying into Tampa or Orlando, you'll save a store run on day one.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Highland%20City%2C%20Florida

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay entirely through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card, with no cash handed over at pickup. Your security deposit is held (not charged) on your card just before the trip starts, then released after dropoff once the host confirms the RV came back in good shape. The security deposit is separate from your booking payment. To avoid any deposit issues, take photos of the interior and exterior at pickup, follow the host's fuel and dump-tank instructions, and return the RV on time. Pro tip: read the listing's mileage and generator policies carefully before booking to keep your final invoice clean.

Where can I park an RV overnight in Highland City outside a campground?

You've got options, though planned campgrounds are always the most reliable. Overnight parking on public streets in Polk County and the city of Lakeland is generally not permitted, but the Walmart Supercenter on US-98 in Lakeland and the Cracker Barrel just off I-4 commonly allow one-night RV stays with manager permission, a handy stopover if you're arriving late. For longer stays, head to one of the full-service parks within 20 minutes, such as Sanlan RV Resort or Lakeland RV Resort. Pro tip: always call the store manager ahead to confirm overnight parking is allowed that night, and never set up chairs, slide-outs, or grills at retail lots.
