Had such a great time. Camper was clean and ready to pack up and leave. Camper was showing it’s age, but the price seemed to be adjusted for it.. Over all we were very happy with this rental.

2022 Jayco Travel Trailer
Renting Brandon's 2022 Jayco Jay Feather Micro 199mbs was an awesome and smooth experience! He was super flexible with the pickup, and drop-off time. This was my first time renting a camper trailer and to be honest, it was kind of overwhelming at first, but Brandon walked me through every detail and put all of my concerns to rest. He was also available for any and all questions and responded immediately. There were quite a few features on this trailer, and with his help, I'm now an experienced trailer camper! He's also super friendly and professional. Furthermore, I requested a few add-ons that made the experience even better: we got the fishing, smores and inflatable SUP kit add-ons. The inflatable paddle board was of amazing quality, it was hard to believe it was just inflatable. Now I want one for myself. Brandon was on point and I'm already looking for an excuse to rent it again from him. My Family didn't want to leave the trailer and I wish I had rented it for longer.

Host was great, very quick to respond and communicate. RV ran smoothly. My rental was right after Burning Man festival usage so unfortunately there was residual dust and dirt that was difficult to clean.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Paris, ID

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Paris, ID?

RV rental in Paris, ID is one of the best values in the Mountain West. Travel trailers often start around $90 to $150 per night, while Class C motorhomes typically run $175 to $275 per night depending on size and season. Because Paris sits in quiet Bear Lake County, prices tend to be lower than launching from Salt Lake City or Jackson. For a cheap RV rental Paris, ID travelers love, look at weeknight stays in June or September when nightly rates drop and Bear Lake is still gorgeous. Pro tip: filter by Instant Book to lock in the best-priced rigs before the Raspberry Days crowd arrives in early August.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Paris, ID?

Great news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Paris, ID. Idaho does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal-use motorhomes or travel trailers, including the Class A, Class C, and fifth wheels you'll see on RVezy. You'll just need to be 25 or older, and we'll confirm your ID quickly through the platform during booking. Visiting from another country? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside your home license and you're set. Most first-time renters are surprised how straightforward the process is, leaving you free to focus on planning your Bear Lake itinerary.

The protection plan helps cover damages to the vehicle, giving you real peace of mind without the hassle of buying a separate policy. During checkout, you'll choose between different protection levels so you can pick the coverage that feels right for your trip, whether that's a quick weekend at Bear Lake State Park or a longer loop through southeastern Idaho. What happens if I need to cancel my Paris, ID RV rental?

Cancellations are easier than most people expect. RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy, and every booking includes a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in a rig without that all-or-nothing feeling. After the grace period, refunds depend on how far out you are from your trip start date and circumstances like natural disasters, which matter in a mountain region where early-season snow at 6,000 feet can occasionally change plans. You can review the full policy on the RVezy website before you confirm. Pro tip: book early for July weekends at Bear Lake, where the best rigs sell out fast, knowing you have flexibility if life shifts.

Can I bring my dog on a Paris, ID RV trip?

Absolutely, and Bear Lake country is a fantastic place to do it. Plenty of hosts offer pet-friendly RV rental Paris, ID guests can book with confidence, just filter by Pet-Friendly when you search. Dogs are welcome at most Caribou-Targhee National Forest campgrounds like Paris Springs and St. Charles, and the Bear Lake National Wildlife Refuge dike trails just north of the lake are a beautiful leashed walk. One local note: pets are restricted from designated swim beaches inside Bear Lake State Park, so plan beach time accordingly and keep dogs leashed in developed areas. Bring a long leash, fresh water, and a towel for sandy paws after a Bear Lake swim.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Paris, ID?

Yes, RV delivery Paris, ID is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters who'd rather skip driving a big rig on Highway 89. Many hosts deliver directly to Bear Lake State Park campgrounds, North Beach, or private RV parks like Bear Lake North in St. Charles. They'll level the rig, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. Some hosts also deliver to forest sites like Paris Springs Campground in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest. Just message the host through the listing to confirm your delivery address and any mileage fee. It's the easiest possible start to a Paris, ID RV trip.

How far can I drive on my Paris, ID RV rental?

Plenty far, and many hosts in the Bear Lake area offer generous mileage packages, including some RV rental with unlimited mileage options if you ask. Each host sets their own mileage policy, which is shown right on the listing along with the per-mile fee for anything beyond the included amount. From Paris, popular day trips like the short drive to Bear Lake State Park's East Beach or up to Paris Springs Campground barely move the needle. If you're planning a bigger loop to Jackson, Wyoming (about 165 miles) or Yellowstone (around 215 miles), look for listings that highlight 150+ free miles per day. Message the host before booking to confirm what fits your itinerary.

Where are the best campgrounds near Paris, ID?

You're spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near Paris, ID start with Paris Springs Campground, just 5 miles up Paris Canyon at 6,600 feet, with shaded sites along Paris Creek (vault toilets, drinking water, no electric hookups). Bear Lake State Park's Mountain Fawn and East Beach Campgrounds, about 11 miles east on E. Beach Road, offer serviced sites with electricity, water, and a dump station right on the turquoise shoreline. St. Charles Campground sits in St. Charles Canyon about 8 miles from North Beach, with flush toilets and easy access to Minnetonka Cave. For full hookups and showers, Bear Lake North RV Park in St. Charles and Montpelier Creek KOA, about 25 miles north, are reliable favorites.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Paris, ID?

Late June through mid-September is the sweet spot for RV camping Paris, ID, when daytime highs sit between 75°F and 85°F and Bear Lake's water warms enough for swimming, paddleboarding, and waterskiing. Early August brings the famous Raspberry Days Festival in Garden City on the south end of Bear Lake, with a parade, fireworks, and rodeo. For fewer crowds and golden-aspen views in Paris Canyon, plan a September trip. Winters here are genuinely cold and snowy at 5,900 feet, so most campgrounds, including Bear Lake State Park's water and dump station, shut down from late October through April. Shoulder-season travelers should pack layers, even sunny June mornings can dip into the 40s.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving in Paris, ID?

Yes, and honestly, Paris is one of the most beginner-friendly places in the country for your first time renting an RV. Highway 89 through town is a wide, low-traffic two-lane road, the local speed limits are modest, and parking lots at Bear Lake's North Beach and East Beach are sized for big rigs. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup, covering propane, water, slides, leveling, and the dump station so nothing is a mystery. If you'd rather skip driving entirely, choose a host who offers delivery and setup. Pro tip: practice a few turns in the empty lot at the Bear Lake County Fairgrounds before heading up Paris Canyon's narrower forest roads.

What if I have a breakdown or problem during my trip?

You're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you're at Paris Springs Campground, on the dike road through the Bear Lake National Wildlife Refuge, or rolling back from Minnetonka Cave. Roadside support handles the standard stuff like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and tow coordination. For questions about the rig itself, your host is your first call (they know their RV best), and RVezy's support team is available before, during, and after the trip if anything escalates. Cell coverage is solid in town and along Highway 89, though it gets patchy up in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, so screenshot key numbers before you head into the canyons.

Can I take my Paris, ID RV rental into Utah or Wyoming?

Yes, cross-state travel is welcomed by most hosts and makes for an incredible RV road trip from Paris, ID. Bear Lake itself straddles the Idaho-Utah line, so you'll likely cross into Garden City, UT just by driving the lake loop. Popular extensions include Jackson, WY and Grand Teton National Park (about 165 miles north on Highway 89), Yellowstone's south entrance (around 215 miles), Salt Lake City (130 miles south), and Logan, UT (60 miles southwest). Travel into Canada may be possible with host approval, but trips into Mexico are not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance doesn't extend across that border. Message your host before booking with your full route so everyone's aligned.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Paris, ID RV trip?

Fuel is one of the bigger line items, but very manageable on a Paris, ID RV trip because distances between great destinations are short. Expect roughly 8 to 10 miles per gallon for a Class C motorhome, 10 to 14 MPG for a truck towing a travel trailer, and 16 to 20 MPG for a Class B campervan. Idaho gas prices typically run slightly below the national average, and the nearest reliable fuel stops are in Paris itself, Montpelier (13 miles north), and Garden City, UT on the south end of Bear Lake. Pro tip: top off in Montpelier before heading into the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, prices in St. Charles can be 20-30 cents higher in peak summer.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near Paris, ID?

For summer weekends at Bear Lake State Park, book as soon as the reservation window opens through Idaho State Parks (online at parksandrecreation.idaho.gov or by phone). North Beach day-use passes for busy July and August weekends also go fast, so reserve as early as possible. Caribou-Targhee National Forest sites like Paris Springs and St. Charles Campground are reservable through Recreation.gov, and the popular weekends typically fill 4-6 months out. Midweek and shoulder-season trips (June and September) are much easier and often have same-week availability. Pro tip: if Bear Lake State Park is full, check St. Charles Campground in St. Charles Canyon, it's a quieter alternative just a short drive from the lake.
recreation.gov/camping/gateways/1102

What are the driving conditions like around Paris, ID?

Driving around Paris is mostly relaxed, two-lane mountain valley driving on Highway 89, with light traffic and big sky views. The biggest things to watch for are sudden afternoon thunderstorms in July and August (pull over if hail starts), wildlife on the road at dawn and dusk (mule deer especially), and steep grades if you head west over Emigration Canyon toward Logan, UT, where engine braking helps. Forest roads up Paris Canyon and Bloomington Canyon turn to dirt and tighten quickly, fine for most travel trailers and Class Cs but slower going. In winter (November through March), expect snow, ice, and chain-up zones, which is why most renters stick to the May-October window for their motorhome rental Paris, ID adventures.
511.idaho.gov/

What hookups and dump stations are available at campgrounds near Paris, ID?

You've got solid options at every comfort level. Bear Lake State Park's East Beach and Mountain Fawn Campgrounds offer electric and water hookups plus an on-site dump station, perfect for a fully serviced stay. Bear Lake North RV Park in St. Charles has 22 pull-through sites with sewer, water, and 30-amp electricity (five sites have 50-amp), making it the easiest big-rig option in the area. Forest Service campgrounds like Paris Springs and St. Charles Campground provide drinking water and vault or flush toilets but no electric hookups, great for self-contained rigs. The Bear Lake State Park dump station is closed in winter when water is turned off, so plan dumps before heading home if you're traveling in shoulder season.
parksandrecreation.idaho.gov/state-park/bear-lake-state-park/

What amenities will my Paris, ID RV rental have?

Expect comfortable, vacation-ready amenities. A typical campervan rental Paris, ID listing includes a queen or convertible bed, a kitchen with fridge, stove, sink, and cookware, and either an interior or outdoor shower. Class C and Class A motorhomes step it up with a private bathroom, multiple sleeping areas (often sleeping 6-8), roof AC, a furnace for cool Bear Lake mornings, and frequently a TV with DVD player. Most rigs include a generator or solar setup since Paris Springs and forest sites don't have shore power. Wi-Fi is typically not built in (cell signal is limited up the canyons anyway), so download maps and entertainment before you head out. Every listing details exactly what's included.
energy.gov/energysaver/recreational-vehicles

What add-ons and pickup details should I know about?

Hosts in the Paris area commonly offer add-ons that make life easier: camping chairs, outdoor grills, bedding and linen packs, kayak or paddleboard rentals, generators, and bike racks, with most extras running $10 to $40 each for the trip. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Paris, Montpelier, or nearby Bear Lake County towns, and delivery to your campground is often available for a flat fee that scales with distance. Each listing spells out the mileage policy (commonly 100-150 free miles per day) and any generator-hour or pet fees up front. Pro tip: ask for a paddleboard add-on, Bear Lake's glassy 7 a.m. water is unbeatable for SUP from Mountain Fawn Campground's beach.
fs.usda.gov/recreation/programs/rv-camping

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment is simple and fully handled through RVezy, so there's no awkward cash exchange at pickup. You'll pay your rental total at booking using a credit or debit card, and a refundable security deposit (set by the host and clearly listed on each rig) is held separately before your trip begins. As long as you return the RV in the same condition with the agreed fuel and tank levels, the deposit is released back to you after the trip. To avoid surprises, take dated photos at pickup and dropoff, confirm the generator-hours policy, and follow the host's dump and refuel instructions. It's the same straightforward process whether you're booking a budget travel trailer or a premium Class A for your Bear Lake getaway.
