Thanks to Chrystal and her husband we had a wonderful and relaxing time on vacation. The rental, delivery, and set up went smoothly, and the camper was so cozy and comfortable with plenty room. Chrystal even had a snack basket for us with all kind of goodies we enjoyed. Plan to rent again in April !!

Kelsey was very responsive as this was our first time renting/driving/experiencing an RV. Easy pick up and drop off and she was great to work with. The RV was very clean. We did have to provide sheets for the other two beds as the only sheets provided were the ones for the queen, but that wasn't a huge deal, as we liked having our own linens. She had plenty of towels and kitchen amenities. Everything was very clean. But for the fridge that stopped working on our way back and the base of the toilet slowly leaking clean water (none of these were her fault), everything went very smoothly.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Benton?

Good news: a standard driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Benton, KY. Kentucky does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal-use RVs, including Class A motorhomes and fifth wheels you will find on RVezy. Approved drivers on RVezy are generally 25 or older, and you will upload a clear photo of your license during checkout so RVezy can verify your ID. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring your home-country license along with an International Driving Permit (IDP). Once you are verified, you are cleared to point the rig toward Kentucky Lake and start your adventure.

Is my RV rental in Benton protected if something goes wrong?

Yes, every RV rental in Benton, KY booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance included with your reservation. The protection plan helps cover damage to the RV and gives you real peace of mind whether you are navigating the Purchase Parkway or backing into a lakeside site at Kenlake State Resort Park. What if I need to cancel my Benton RV trip?

Booking with confidence is easy because RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy for every reservation. There is a grace period right after you book during which you can cancel for a full refund, plus structured refund tiers based on how far out you cancel. Because western Kentucky can see spring storms, that flexibility matters when plans shift. The cancellation policy is handled centrally by RVezy rather than posted on individual listings, and the RVezy support team is available before, during, and after your trip if you need help adjusting your booking.

Can I bring my dog on a Benton RV rental?

Absolutely, Benton is a fantastic spot for a pet-friendly RV rental. Plenty of hosts on RVezy welcome dogs, and you can narrow your search with the Pet-Friendly filter to see only those listings. Once you're here, your pup will love Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, where dogs are allowed on most trails including the easy Hematite Lake Trail and Honker Lake Trail near Golden Pond. Mike Miller County Park in Draffenville also has open green space perfect for stretching four legs. Just bring tick and mosquito protection, especially from May through September. Message the host directly through the listing to confirm any pet fee or breed notes before you book.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground in Benton?

Yes, RV delivery in Benton is one of the smartest ways to start a stress-free trip, especially if you're new to RVing. Many RVezy hosts will drive the rig straight to popular spots like Kenlake State Resort Park, Hillman Ferry Campground in Land Between the Lakes, or Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park, set it up on your site, level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system. You arrive, drop your bags, and start grilling. Use the Delivery filter when browsing listings, then message the host with your campground address to confirm the fee, which is usually based on mileage from their location.

That's helpful here because so much of the fun is within a short drive: Land Between the Lakes is about 25 minutes east, Paducah's historic downtown is 30 miles north, Nashville sits roughly 130 miles southeast, and St. Louis is about 230 miles northwest. When is the best time of year to rent an RV in Benton, KY?

The sweet spot for a Benton RV trip is mid-April through mid-June and then again from early September through late October. Spring brings dogwoods, redbuds, and crappie season on Kentucky Lake, with daytime highs in the 65 to 80 degree range. Summer is gorgeous but warm and humid, often hitting 88 to 92 degrees in July and August, which is great for swimming but means you'll want an RV with strong air conditioning. Winters are mild but damp, so most lakeside campgrounds run from March through late October or November.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay?

First time renting an RV? You'll do great in Benton, because western Kentucky is one of the friendliest places in the country to learn. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering hookups, the slide-out, water systems, and how to use the generator, and they're a text away during your trip. Pro tip: ask your host about a smaller Class C motorhome or travel trailer for your first run, since they're easier to maneuver than a 35-foot Class A.

What should I budget for fuel on a Benton RV trip?

Fuel is one of the bigger line items on any Kentucky RV trip, but Benton sits in a region where gas is consistently cheaper than the national average. Expect regular unleaded in Marshall County to run roughly $2.80 to $3.20 per gallon and diesel slightly higher. Travel trailers towed by a half-ton truck average 9 to 12 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 MPG, and big Class A coaches sit around 6 to 8 MPG. Land Between the Lakes campgrounds like Hillman Ferry and Energy Lake book through Recreation.gov, also up to 6 months out. What are driving conditions like around Benton?

Driving an RV around Benton is refreshingly easy. The terrain is flat to gently rolling, the major routes (US 68, US 641, I-24, and the Purchase Parkway) are wide and well-maintained, and traffic is light outside of summer holiday weekends. The two things to watch are the Eggners Ferry Bridge over Kentucky Lake on US 68, which is tall but narrow with no shoulder, and sudden spring thunderstorms that can include high wind, especially across open water on the bridges. Check the forecast each morning. Deer are active at dawn and dusk in Land Between the Lakes, so avoid night driving on The Trace if you can. Otherwise, it's smooth lake-country cruising.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure. When you book your RV rental in Benton, KY through RVezy, your booking total is charged and held by RVezy rather than paid directly to the host, so your funds are protected until the trip starts. A refundable security deposit is placed on hold separately from your booking payment and released back to your card after the trip wraps up, assuming the RV is returned in the same condition. What's a local insider tip for first-time visitors to Benton?

Here is a tip locals love sharing: time your visit around Tater Day, held the first Monday of April in downtown Benton. It is one of the oldest continuous trade day festivals in the country, with a parade, mule pull, carnival, and street vendors filling Main Street. Beyond that, plan a sunset drive across the Eggners Ferry Bridge on US 68 with a stop at Patti's 1880's Settlement in nearby Grand Rivers for their famous 2-inch pork chop. For mornings, the Kentucky Lake sunrise from the Kentucky Dam observation area is genuinely spectacular. These small moments are what turn a good Benton RV trip into one you will talk about for years.
