Thanks to Chrystal and her husband we had a wonderful and relaxing time on vacation. The rental, delivery, and set up went smoothly, and the camper was so cozy and comfortable with plenty room. Chrystal even had a snack basket for us with all kind of goodies we enjoyed. Plan to rent again in April !!

Kelsey was very responsive as this was our first time renting/driving/experiencing an RV. Easy pick up and drop off and she was great to work with. The RV was very clean. We did have to provide sheets for the other two beds as the only sheets provided were the ones for the queen, but that wasn't a huge deal, as we liked having our own linens. She had plenty of towels and kitchen amenities. Everything was very clean. But for the fridge that stopped working on our way back and the base of the toilet slowly leaking clean water (none of these were her fault), everything went very smoothly.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Cadiz, Kentucky?

Great news for first-time renters: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Cadiz, Kentucky. Kentucky does not require a Commercial Driver License (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for motorhomes or travel trailers that you'll find on RVezy. You'll just need to be 25 or older and upload a valid driver's license through the RVezy platform so we can confirm your ID before pickup. International visitors should grab an International Driving Permit (IDP) from their home auto club before flying in. That's it, you're ready to head for Lake Barkley.

What is the cancellation policy if my Cadiz trip plans change?

You are covered: RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and there is a money-back grace period after booking so you can lock in your Cadiz RV rental with confidence. Beyond the grace period, refund amounts depend on how far in advance you cancel. If a host cancels, guests receive a refund or travel credit. Review the full cancellation terms on the RVezy Help Center before booking. The bottom line: reserving your rent-an-RV-in-Cadiz dates is low-risk, so go ahead and grab those summer weekends at Lake Barkley before they fill up.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip in Cadiz?

Honestly, Cadiz is a three-season sweet spot. Late April through mid-June and September through late October are golden, with highs in the 70s and low 80s, low humidity, and fall foliage rolling through Land Between the Lakes in mid to late October. July and August are hot and muggy (highs near 88 to 90°F with heat index over 100°F), which is fantastic if you're chasing lake days but be sure your RV has strong air conditioning. Winters are mild with average January highs around 42°F and only about 6 inches of snow per year, so cold-weather RV camping in Cadiz is genuinely doable. Book shoulder-season weekends now.

I am a first-time renter, how do I learn to operate the RV?

You will feel like a pro by the end of pickup day. Every host on RVezy provides a hands-on orientation walking you through the engine, slide-outs, awning, propane, water tanks, generator, and dump procedures, so first time renting an RV in Cadiz feels approachable. Many hosts share a printed cheat sheet or short video links you can rewatch at your campsite. On the road, message your host directly through the RVezy app, and 24/7 roadside assistance is one tap away through your protection plan. Pro tip: ask your host to demo the leveling jacks before you head to Lake Barkley, lakefront sites are gently sloped.

Roadside can dispatch tire service, jump-starts, fuel delivery, lockout help, and towing throughout the Cadiz, Eddyville, Grand Rivers, and Land Between the Lakes corridor. Your host is also available through in-app messaging for system questions like resetting a generator or relighting the water heater. Save the roadside number in your phone before pickup and snap a photo of your RV's VIN, you will be back to lake time fast.

Can I take my Cadiz RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, interstate travel is fair game and Cadiz is well placed for it. Your RV rental in Cadiz, KY can travel into Tennessee (Nashville is about 90 miles south), Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri, with RVezy insurance coverage valid across the United States. Travel into Canada may be allowed with advance host approval, so message the owner before booking if a cross-border RV road trip from Cadiz is on your radar. Travel into Mexico is not permitted because coverage does not extend there. Popular interstate runs from Cadiz include Nashville, Memphis, and the Great Smoky Mountains; pick a route and go.

What kind of fuel mileage should I budget for around Cadiz?

Budgeting is easy because Cadiz has flat-to-rolling terrain. Expect roughly 8 to 10 MPG for a Class A, 10 to 14 MPG for a Class C motorhome, 12 to 18 MPG for a tow vehicle pulling a travel trailer, and 18 to 22 MPG for a Class B campervan rental in Cadiz. Check current Kentucky pump prices on the EIA before your trip, and note diesel typically runs higher than regular unleaded. Fill up in Cadiz or Hopkinsville before heading into Land Between the Lakes since fuel stations inside the recreation area are limited. Pro tip: stations on US-68 in town usually beat lakeside prices.

How far ahead should I book a campground near Cadiz?

Book early and you'll get the lakefront site you really want. For Lake Barkley State Resort Park and Land Between the Lakes campgrounds (Hillman Ferry, Energy Lake, Piney), reservations open up to 6 months in advance through Recreation.gov and the Kentucky State Parks system, and Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day weekends literally sell out the day the window opens. For Prizer Point KOA and Cadiz RV Park, 2 to 3 months ahead is usually fine outside major holidays. Shoulder-season weekdays in April, May, September, and October are often bookable just a week or two out. Lock in your dates first, then book your RV.

What are driving conditions like around Cadiz and Land Between the Lakes?

Driving an RV around Cadiz is refreshingly easy. The terrain is gently rolling, traffic on US-68 and I-24 is light compared to any big metro, and the famous Trace road through Land Between the Lakes is a 43-mile, well-maintained two-lane corridor built for RVs and tow rigs. Watch for white-tailed deer at dawn and dusk (especially along the Trace and KY-274), summer pop-up thunderstorms, and the occasional Amish horse-and-buggy on backroads near Crofton. Bridges over Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake on US-68 have generous shoulders and no low clearances. Pro tip: keep the RV under 55 mph on the Trace, the wildlife viewing is part of the fun.

Will my Cadiz RV rental be ready for cool or cold-weather trips?

Yes, and Cadiz is actually a great year-round destination because winters here are mild, average January highs of 42°F and only about 6 inches of snow per year. Many RVezy listings in Kentucky come furnace-equipped with propane heat, and a good number have heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and 30-amp shore power so you can plug in at Lake Barkley State Resort Park or Cadiz RV Park (both open year-round). Toggle the listing filters for furnace and heated tanks, and ask the host about winterizing tips. Pro tip: a crisp October or November RV camping trip in Cadiz means bald-eagle sightings on Lake Barkley and zero crowds on the Trace.
