RV & camper rentals in Jamestown, KY

RV rental in Jamestown is one of the more affordable lake vacation setups in the Southeast. On RVezy, you can typically find travel trailers starting around $90 to $150 per night, campervans from $125 to $200, and larger Class C motorhomes between $175 and $300 per night, with prices easing in spring and fall. Many hosts offer weekly discounts, and booking midweek around Lake Cumberland stretches your budget further. Target late April or mid-September for the best blend of warm weather boating and cheap RV rental Jamestown pricing before the Houseboat Capital of the World crowds arrive for the Fourth of July.

A regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Jamestown, with no CDL or special endorsement required by Kentucky, even for the larger Class A motorhomes and fifth wheels you will see around Lake Cumberland. Approved RVezy renters are generally 25 years or older, and RVezy verifies your ID securely through the platform when you book, so there is no extra paperwork at pickup. Visiting from outside the US? Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your home country license. Most first time renters in Russell County are surprised how quickly they are cleared and on the road toward Wolf Creek Dam.

Yes. Every RV rental in Jamestown booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can launch your Lake Cumberland trip with real peace of mind. You choose your protection level at checkout, and the plan covers damage to the RV during your rental up to the limits of the tier you select. If a branch scrapes the awning at Kendall Campground or a tire goes flat on US-127, you have a clear claims process and direct support from RVezy. Review the plan details before booking so you know exactly what is included.

You can book with confidence. RVezy applies a standard cancellation policy to every rent an RV in Jamestown booking, including a full money back grace period right after you reserve. After that, the refund amount depends on how far out you are from your trip start date. Because RVezy (not the individual host) manages cancellations, the rules are consistent across every listing you browse. Lock in your dates early for Memorial Day weekend at Lake Cumberland, and message the host with any questions before booking so you feel confident from day one.

Yes, pet-friendly RV rental Jamestown options are plentiful, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see hosts who welcome four-legged passengers. Lake Cumberland State Resort Park allows leashed pets in the campground and on hiking trails like the 4-mile Lake Bluff Trail, and the swim beach and most picnic areas at the park are dog-friendly too. The Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery grounds also allow leashed dogs along the outdoor exhibits. Pro tip: pack a towel and a long lead for the boat ramps at Jamestown Marina, your pup will absolutely want to splash in the lake after a humid Kentucky afternoon.

Yes, RV delivery Jamestown is one of the most popular options on RVezy, and it's a game-changer if you're nervous about towing on the hilly, curvy approach into Lake Cumberland State Resort Park. Many local hosts will deliver and set up your motorhome or travel trailer directly at Kendall Campground, Pinecrest RV Park, or a private lakefront site, then walk you through the systems before they leave. Filter by Delivery on RVezy to see exactly which hosts offer it, plus their per-mile fee. Pro tip: ask for delivery to your campsite at the State Resort Park because the Pumpkin Creek loop has tight turns that intimidate first-timers.

Hosts set their own mileage policies, and many Jamestown listings include 100 to 150 free miles per night, which is plenty for circling Lake Cumberland and exploring nearby attractions. If you are planning a bigger loop, ask the host about RV rental with unlimited mileage; several Russell County owners offer it as a flat add-on, especially for week long bookings. Additional miles beyond the included amount typically run $0.30 to $0.50 each. If you are staying put at the State Resort Park marina and only running into Jamestown for groceries, the standard mileage cap is more than enough.

You've got incredible options for RV camping Jamestown, all within 20 minutes of downtown. Lake Cumberland State Resort Park has three campground loops with water and electric sites right above the lake, plus a marina, pool, and the Lure Lodge restaurant. Kendall Campground, run by the Army Corps of Engineers just below Wolf Creek Dam, is legendary for trout fishing on the tailwater. Pinecrest at Lake Cumberland and Old Chimney RV Park both offer full hookups for larger rigs. Pro tip: book Kendall through Recreation.gov six months ahead for summer weekends because waterfront sites at the Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery area vanish almost instantly.

Late April through mid-October is prime time for a Jamestown RV trip, with summer highs typically in the mid-80s Fahrenheit and warm lake water great for swimming and houseboating. May and September are the sweet spot: temperatures hover in the mid-70s, humidity eases, and campgrounds are less crowded. October brings beautiful fall color along the Cumberland Parkway and into Daniel Boone National Forest. Winters are mild but campground water at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park is typically shut off in the coldest months, so confirm with the park before booking. Target the week after Labor Day when Jamestown Marina houseboats are still running but kids are back in school.

You're in great hands: first time renting an RV in Jamestown is genuinely easy because every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup, covering hookups, the awning, slide-outs, water, and propane before you drive off. The terrain around Russell County is rolling but manageable on US-127 and the four-lane Cumberland Parkway, and you can sidestep the trickiest stretches by booking delivery straight to your campsite. Your host stays reachable by message throughout the trip if questions pop up. Pro tip: ask for a smaller Class C or campervan rental Jamestown if you're new, they handle like a big van and park easily at Wolf Creek Dam Overlook.

You are covered. Every motorhome rental in Jamestown booked on RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you are on US-127 near Wolf Creek Dam or parked at Conley Bottom Resort. Roadside assistance covers the common issues: flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and running out of fuel. Your host is also a direct resource for quirks specific to their RV, and RVezy support backs you up before, during, and after the trip. Save the roadside number to your phone before you leave Jamestown because cell service can thin out along the lake back coves.

Jamestown is a fantastic launchpad for an RV road trip from Jamestown across south-central Kentucky and Tennessee. Mammoth Cave National Park is about 90 miles west (roughly 1 hour 45 minutes) and a must for cave tours. Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, home of the famous moonbow, is 75 miles southeast on US-27. Red River Gorge in Daniel Boone National Forest sits about 130 miles northeast for world-class hiking. Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area is just 80 miles south across the Tennessee line. Pro tip: stay overnight at Levi Jackson Wilderness Road State Park between Jamestown and Red River Gorge to break up the drive and explore pioneer history.

Plan smart and fuel will not blow your budget. Class C motorhomes around Jamestown average roughly 8 to 10 mpg, Class B campervans get about 16 to 20 mpg, and travel trailer fuel use depends on your tow vehicle. Kentucky gas prices typically run a little below the national average, and you will find convenient fill-ups along US-127 in Jamestown. For a 5 night stay with light driving (around 200 miles total in a Class C), budget roughly $80 to $120 in fuel. Top off in Jamestown before heading down to Burnside or out toward Albany because gas stations thin out once you leave the US-127 corridor.

For the best campgrounds near Jamestown, book early: Kendall Campground and other Army Corps sites release reservations up to 6 months in advance on Recreation.gov, and summer weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day fill within days. Lake Cumberland State Resort Park accepts reservations up to a year out through the Kentucky State Parks reservation system, and waterfront-view sites in the Lure Loop are the first to go. For Fourth of July or Poker Run America (early August on Lake Cumberland), aim for 6 months ahead minimum. Pro tip: midweek arrivals (Sunday through Wednesday) almost always have openings even in July, especially at Pinecrest and Old Chimney.

Driving around Jamestown is straightforward but worth a quick heads-up: US-127 is the main artery and a smooth four lanes through town, while the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Parkway (a four-lane connector) gets you to I-65 in about an hour with easy grades. Inside Lake Cumberland State Resort Park, the access road is hilly with sharp curves (Good Sam specifically flags caution), so take it slow with a larger rig. Watch for occasional deer at dawn and dusk on KY-92 and KY-619. Pro tip: avoid the narrow lakeside backroads like Sewell Cemetery Road in big motorhomes, stick to US-127 and the main park entrance for stress-free arrival.

You'll have no trouble keeping tanks happy around Jamestown. Lake Cumberland State Resort Park has a dump station and potable water fill near the campground entrance, free for registered campers. Kendall Campground offers a dump station and water spigots throughout the loops, with full hookup sites available at Pinecrest and Old Chimney RV Park. Note that water at Kentucky State Park campgrounds is shut off from November 1 to March 15 because of freeze risk. Pro tip: top your fresh water before leaving the park entrance because the next reliable RV-friendly fill is back in Jamestown proper, and your shower-loving crew at the swim beach will thank you.

Expect a fully kitted home on wheels: most RV rental Jamestown KY listings come with real beds (sleeping 4 to 8 depending on the rig), a kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge, sink, and cookware, a bathroom with toilet and shower, climate control, and seatbelted seating for travel. Many hosts include a TV, Bluetooth speakers, outdoor chairs, and a propane grill. Generators or solar are common on Class B and Class C rigs for off-grid stays at lakeside coves. WiFi is hit-or-miss because cell coverage varies around Lake Cumberland's hollows. Pro tip: filter for listings that include linens and a starter kit so you can roll straight from Jamestown to the campsite without a Walmart run.

Hosts in Jamestown make customization easy. Popular add-ons include linen and kitchen packages ($25 to $75), generators ($15 to $30 per day), portable grills, bike racks, kayaks or paddleboards (gold for Lake Cumberland), and camping chairs. Many hosts offer pickup right from their property near US-127 or delivery to Lake Cumberland State Resort Park, Kendall Campground, or your private lakefront rental. Mileage policies vary by listing, so check the listing card before booking. Pro tip: ask about a stocked fishing add-on if you're heading to the Cumberland River tailwater below Wolf Creek Dam, some hosts toss in rods and a Kentucky fishing license tip sheet free with multi-day bookings.

Payment is simple and secure. You pay through RVezy at booking using a credit or debit card, never directly to the host, which protects both sides. A refundable security deposit set by the host is pre-authorized on your card before pickup and released after the trip once the host confirms the RV was returned in good condition. To avoid deposit issues, take time stamped photos at pickup and dropoff, dump tanks before return, and refuel to the level shown on the rental agreement. Top off gas or diesel in Jamestown right before returning to keep your dropoff smooth.

Yes, most Jamestown hosts welcome interstate travel across the US, which makes Jamestown a great base camp for exploring Tennessee's Big South Fork (about 80 miles south), Nashville (around 130 miles southwest via the Cumberland Parkway and I-65), or destinations further east. Always confirm your travel plans with the host through RVezy messaging before booking, especially for longer trips. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals, and cross border travel into Canada depends on the host and the protection plan. A 3 night Lake Cumberland plus 2 night Nashville loop is a popular cross state itinerary out of Jamestown.
