Hosts and camper were awesome. Communication was easy and productive. Flexibility on drop off/pick up was great. They were very nice and helpful all along the process. The camper itself was wonderful. Very clean and comfortable with plenty of throw-in's to have a solid trip. Honestly, if I do this again, I won't even look elsewhere. I'll go straight to Beth and Dane as first choice.

This was our first family RV trip. I have experience with big rigs, but my only RV experience was in my childhood. We needed to make a quick weekend trip with lots of driving. Taking an RV was a great way to get the miles, and be able to comfortably rest when needed. We made it to our event, and were able to rest for a few hours when we arrived. It was wonderful. The kids loved the space and freedom, and our family if 6 had a bed for each kid, so no sharing!! The RV is pet friendly, but for us non pet owners, it was clean and fresh, so rest assured, if you’re a non pet person, it’ll be great! The value was excellent, and Aaron went above and beyond. We even took on some minor road damage, and Aaron was able to correct everything himself, and kept us in our budget. He could have easily sent this to the shop, and hit up big charges. It’s evident he cares about his renters, and their experience! It was an A+ experience, and my kids have already asked when are we doing it again. Which is crazy, because it was a 1600 mile car ride in3.5 days! Kids never ask to ride in our Car for that long, but they loved the RV! If you’ve been dreaming about it, do it, YOLO! But maybe pick a shorter drive than we did for your first time.

Great camper, great price. We have never camped in an rv before so we had to figure some things out. Luckily we were able to connect with them to get things hooked up. Once we got all that taken care of we had a good time camping. The camper had all the essentials like pots, pans, silverware, dinner ware, etc. Bath fan does not work.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in London, KY

How much does an RV rental in London, KY typically cost?

RV rental in London, KY is one of the more affordable getaways in the region. On RVezy, most travel trailers start around $90 to $150 per night and Class C motorhomes generally range from $175 to $275 per night, with pricing varying by season, rig age, and amenities. What license do I need to rent an RV in London, Kentucky?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in London, Kentucky. No commercial or special RV endorsement is required for the Class A, Class B, Class C, travel trailers, and fifth wheels listed on RVezy. Approved drivers must generally be at least 25 years old, and RVezy verifies your ID right through the platform before pickup, so there's no extra DMV trip. Visiting from outside the US? Bring an International Driving Permit along with your home-country license. Lexington's Blue Grass Airport is about 75 miles north of London via I-75. Most first-timers are surprised how simple the handoff feels once their host walks them through the rig.

Is my RV rental protected if something goes wrong?

Every RV rental in London, KY booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance included, so you can explore the Daniel Boone National Forest backroads with real peace of mind. The protection plan helps cover damage to the RV during your trip, and you choose your coverage level at checkout, not the host, so you decide what feels right for your trip. Whether you're heading to Cumberland Falls or Laurel River Lake, knowing help is one call away makes a first RV adventure feel far less intimidating. You can review the full details of each plan on the RVezy Help Center before you book.

What happens if I need to cancel my London RV booking?

You can book with confidence. RVezy applies a standard cancellation policy to every reservation, including a money-back grace period right after booking so a change of plans doesn't sink your trip. Cancellation terms depend on how far out you are from the trip start, and the policy is handled by RVezy directly rather than the individual host. If a host cancels on you, RVezy will help you get a refund or rebooking credit. That's especially helpful in eastern Kentucky, where the occasional severe thunderstorm or winter ice event can affect plans. Review the current terms in the RVezy Help Center, then lock in your London RV trip while the dates you want are still open.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground in London?

Yes, RV delivery in London is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if you're a first-time renter. Many RVezy hosts will drive the rig directly to Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park, Holly Bay Campground at Laurel River Lake, or a private property in Laurel County, then level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. That means no parallel-parking a 30-footer on your first day. Use the Delivery filter when you search, and message hosts to confirm the delivery fee, most charge a flat rate plus a per-mile amount beyond a set radius. It's the closest thing to glamping near the Daniel Boone National Forest.

How does mileage work, and how far can I realistically drive from London?

Most RVezy hosts in London, KY include a daily mileage allowance (commonly 100 to 150 miles per day) with optional unlimited-mileage upgrades, perfect for a Kentucky road trip from London. Here's what's actually reachable: Cumberland Falls State Resort Park is about 35 miles southwest, Red River Gorge sits roughly 70 miles north, Mammoth Cave National Park is around 140 miles west, the Great Smoky Mountains entrance at Gatlinburg is about 150 miles south, and Nashville is roughly 230 miles southwest via I-75 and I-40. If you're planning a multi-stop loop, ask your host about an RV rental with unlimited mileage add-on. Pro tip: I-75 makes north-south travel easy, but pad your daily drive time, mountain grades around Jellico are slower than flat-state miles.

For an interstate-easy stop, the Corbin/Laurel Lake KOA Journey at I-75 Exit 29 has long pull-throughs. Book Levi Jackson up to 11 months in advance for World Chicken Festival weekend, it fills fast.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from London, KY?

London, KY shines from mid-April through late October, with the absolute sweet spots being May (wildflowers and 70s) and late September through October (fall color in the Daniel Boone National Forest with daytime highs in the 60s and 70s). Summer days hover in the mid-80s with high humidity, so use the AC and plan hikes for morning. The last full weekend of September brings the World Chicken Festival downtown, a four-day blowout featuring the world's largest stainless-steel skillet. Winters are short but chilly, with January lows around 27°F and occasional snow. Pro tip: book your fall-foliage week by early summer, October is peak color and peak demand.

I've never driven an RV before. Is renting in London, KY beginner-friendly?

You're in a great spot for a first time renting an RV. London sits on flat-to-rolling terrain just off I-75, so highways are wide and the city traffic is mild compared to Louisville or Lexington. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through the generator, slide-outs, tanks, propane, and hookups before you drive off. Choose delivery to Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park if you'd rather skip the driving on day one entirely. A travel trailer under 25 feet or a Class C motorhome is the easiest starting point. Pro tip: practice a few turns in an empty lot near the Laurel County Fairgrounds before merging onto I-75.

What happens if I have a breakdown or roadside issue?

Take a breath, you're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so a flat tire on US-25, a dead battery at a Laurel River Lake overlook, or a lockout at Levi Jackson is just a phone call away. RVezy's customer support team is available before, during, and after your trip, and your host is typically only a text away too. London is well-served by towing and RV-friendly service shops thanks to its position on I-75, so help usually arrives quickly. Save the roadside number in your phone before you leave the driveway, and keep the host's contact pinned, that's all the prep you really need.

Can I take my London RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, interstate travel is fine for an RV road trip from London, KY, and it's one of the best things about this location. You're a quick hop to Tennessee (Knoxville is about 90 miles south on I-75), Virginia via Cumberland Gap (about 70 miles southeast), West Virginia's New River Gorge (around 200 miles east), and Ohio (Cincinnati is about 170 miles north). Cross-border travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host and the insurance terms, message the host through the listing before booking to confirm. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. A Cumberland Gap loop into Virginia and Tennessee is doable in a long weekend.

What should I budget for fuel on a London, KY RV trip?

Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost, but it's easy to budget. Most Class C motorhomes around London average 8 to 10 mpg, travel trailers tow at 10 to 14 mpg behind a half-ton truck, and campervans (Class B) can stretch to 16 to 20 mpg. Kentucky gas prices typically run a bit below the national average, and London has plenty of large-format fuel stops including the Pilot and Love's at I-75 Exits 38 and 41 that easily fit big rigs. For a 300-mile weekend loop to Cumberland Falls and back, plan on $80 to $150 in fuel depending on rig size. Pro tip: GasBuddy plus the Pilot Flying J app saves real money on a longer Kentucky RV trip.

How far in advance should I book a campground near London, KY?

For the best sites at Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park, book as early as 11 months ahead through the Kentucky State Parks reservation system, especially for Memorial Day, July 4th, the World Chicken Festival in late September, and fall-color weekends in October. Daniel Boone National Forest campgrounds like Holly Bay and Grove on Laurel Lake use Recreation.gov and open reservations 6 months in advance. Mid-week stays in spring or late fall are often bookable just a week or two out. Pro tip: if a holiday weekend looks full, set a Recreation.gov availability alert, cancellations pop up constantly in the 7 to 10 days before a trip start.

What are the driving conditions like in and around London, KY?

Driving an RV around London, KY is genuinely manageable. I-75 runs straight through town with wide lanes and gentle grades, and most local roads in Laurel County are open and rural. The trickier stretches are the curvy two-lanes heading east into Daniel Boone National Forest (KY-80, KY-192, and White Oak Road toward Laurel River Lake), where you'll want to take it slow in anything over 28 feet. Watch for occasional fog in low-lying areas at dawn and afternoon thunderstorms in summer. Winter ice events are short but real, December through February. Pro tip: avoid US-25 through downtown London during the World Chicken Festival, road closures start Wednesday afternoon of festival week.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds around London?

You'll find more amenities than you might expect. Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park offers full hookups (electric, water, sewer) on many sites, a dump station, three bathhouses with hot showers, laundry, free Wi-Fi, and a seasonal community pool with two water slides. Holly Bay Campground on Laurel River Lake has electric and water hookups, a boat ramp, and a dump station. Most Daniel Boone National Forest campgrounds offer potable water fills and dump stations even at non-hookup sites. Pro tip: where to park an RV in London is largely answered by your hookup needs, pick Levi Jackson for full hookups and the KOA at Corbin if you want laundry, propane, and a camp store all on site.

What's inside a typical RV rental in London, KY?

Expect a fully-equipped little home on wheels. Most London, KY RV rentals on RVezy come with a queen or king bed, convertible dinette, full kitchen (fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with shower and toilet, roof AC and furnace, a flatscreen TV, and seatbelts for everyone riding. Many include a generator for off-grid power at Daniel Boone National Forest sites, outdoor speakers, and an awning for shaded campsite afternoons. Wi-Fi inside the rig is host-dependent, but cell service is generally solid in Laurel County and patchy deep in the forest. Check each listing's amenities tab carefully, and message the host if a specific item (like a tow hitch or roof rack) is a must-have for your motorhome rental London plans.

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

London, KY hosts offer some genuinely useful add-ons that can make your trip easier. Common ones include linen and kitchen kits ($30 to $75), camp chairs and outdoor rugs, generator usage packages, bike racks, and propane top-offs. Many hosts also offer delivery and setup to nearby spots like Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park or Holly Bay Campground for a flat fee plus per-mile beyond a set radius. Pickup is usually from the host's driveway in Laurel County, and one-way rentals (drop-off in another city) may be available, message the host directly from the listing to ask. Pro tip: bundling delivery, linens, and a generator add-on often costs less than the equivalent at a campervan rental London chain.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card at booking, never in cash to the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the rig) and released after your trip once the host confirms there is no damage and the RV is returned per the listing rules. To avoid deposit issues, take date-stamped photos at pickup and drop-off, follow the host's fuel and dump-station instructions, and don't smoke inside. London's closest dump stations are at Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park and many I-75 truck plazas, easy to hit on your way back to drop-off.

What's a great family RV trip itinerary from London, KY?

London is the perfect launchpad for a family RV trip Kentucky travelers rave about. A classic 4-night loop: night 1 at Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park (pool, mini-golf, Mountain Life Museum), night 2 at Holly Bay Campground on Laurel River Lake (swim and kayak), nights 3 and 4 at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park (35 miles southwest) to see the famous moonbow on a clear full-moon night, one of only a handful in the world. Add a stop at the original Harland Sanders Cafe and Museum in nearby Corbin for an only-in-Kentucky photo op. Pro tip: book the moonbow weekend at Cumberland Falls 6+ months out, it's the single most requested night in the Kentucky State Parks system.
