The awning was not operational. And was not told until pick up. Was told he is waiting on parts to repair. We had to buy a 10x10 pop up canapy. There was also a soft spot in the bathroom by the shower. We did not use the bathroom. We used the RV park restrooms. Other than that it was great!

What is RVezy's cancellation policy for Saint Martinville rentals?

Booking is low risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not the individual host), and there's a grace-period window after booking where you can cancel for a full refund. After that, refund amounts depend on how far in advance you cancel. Because Saint Martinville sits in hurricane country during late summer, RVezy support is available if weather forces a change of plans, and host cancellations result in a full refund or travel credit for the guest. You'll see the exact terms on the booking page before you confirm, and RVezy support is available before, during, and after your trip if anything comes up.

When is the best time of year to take an RV trip from Saint Martinville?

The sweet spot for a Saint Martinville RV trip is mid-October through late April, when daytime highs hover between 65°F and 80°F and humidity finally backs off. Spring (February to April) is magical: azaleas bloom around the Evangeline Oak, crawfish season peaks, and festivals fill every weekend. Fall brings cooler nights perfect for a campfire at Lake Fausse Pointe. Pro tip: book a campervan rental in Saint Martinville for Festival International in late April in nearby Lafayette, it's one of the best free music festivals in the South.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay?

You're going to do great, and Saint Martinville is actually a wonderful place for first time renters because the surrounding roads are flat, traffic is light, and speed limits are modest. Every RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup, covering driving, water and waste systems, leveling, hookups, and the propane stove. Many local hosts also offer delivery and setup so your first miles aren't behind the wheel of a 25 foot rig. If you're nervous about driving, start with a Class B campervan or small travel trailer. And remember: 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every booking through RVezy.

You're never alone out there. The renter protection plan covers physical damage to the RV, removing a big chunk of financial worry. Your host is also a phone call or message away, and they often know the quirks of their rig better than anyone. Plus, RVezy's customer support team is available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: save the roadside number in your phone before you pick up the keys.

Can I take my Saint Martinville RV rental to other states or across the border?

Popular RV road trip from Saint Martinville routes include the Creole Nature Trail (about 2.5 hours west), Gulf Shores AL (about 5 hours east), and the Natchez Trace Parkway (about 3 hours north). How much should I budget for fuel on a Saint Martinville RV trip?

Louisiana has some of the lowest gas prices in the country, which makes fueling an RV rental in Louisiana easier on the wallet than most states. Expect roughly $2.80 to $3.20 per gallon for regular unleaded around Saint Martinville (well below the U.S. average). Class B campervans average 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. For a 4 day trip with 400 miles of driving in a Class C, plan on roughly $120 to $160 in fuel. Pro tip: Murphy USA stations near I-10 in Lafayette and Breaux Bridge are usually a few cents cheaper than gas stations downtown.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Saint Martinville?

For Louisiana state parks like Lake Fausse Pointe and Chicot State Park, you can reserve campsites up to 13 months in advance through the official Louisiana State Parks reservation system, and weekends from March through May book up fast thanks to crawfish boils and festival season. Private parks like Poche's RV Park and Cajun Palms typically book 2 to 4 weeks ahead, longer for Festival International (late April) or Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival (first weekend of May). Pro tip: if everything's full in Saint Martinville, look at Henderson or New Iberia, both within 25 minutes and often have last-minute openings.

What are the driving conditions like around Saint Martinville?

Driving an RV in Saint Martinville is refreshingly easy compared to bigger metros. The terrain is flat, elevations sit just 20 feet above sea level, and the main routes (Highway 31, Highway 96, and I-10 to the north) are wide and RV friendly. Watch for narrow shoulders on rural bayou roads, occasional sugarcane trucks during fall harvest (October to December), and sudden afternoon thunderstorms in summer that can drop visibility fast. The historic downtown around the Evangeline Oak has tight turns and overhanging branches, so park at the visitor lot and walk in. Hurricane season runs June through November, so check the National Weather Service forecast before traveling.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Saint Martinville?

Most campgrounds in the Saint Martinville area come well equipped. Expect 30 and 50 amp electric, water hookups, sewer connections (full hookups at Poche's and Cajun Palms), bathhouses, laundry, and Wi-Fi in many private parks. Dump stations are available at Lake Fausse Pointe State Park and most private parks for a small fee. Potable water fill is standard. Many local parks include extras like fishing ponds, pools, and pavilions for boudin and crawfish boils. Pro tip: bring a water pressure regulator, as some older Acadiana parks have high line pressure that can stress RV plumbing.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy with a credit card during booking, never directly to the host, which protects both sides. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment, and the exact amount is shown on the listing before you confirm. After your Saint Martinville rental returns in good shape, the deposit is released back to you. To avoid issues, do a thorough walkthrough video at pickup and dropoff, follow the host's mileage and generator policies, and dump tanks before return. Pro tip: keep all fuel and dump-station receipts, they're handy if questions ever come up.
