2025 East to West Travel Trailer
My family and I just returned from an unforgettable RV trip. We rented Randy & Kim's travel trailer and had it delivered to the Fort Custer Recreation Area near Kalamazoo, MI. The RV was literally brand new, very clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed. We really appreciated the spacious living area, kitchen, comfortable beds, outdoor awning and most of all - Kim's and Randy's hospitality. They made sure that we were always taken care of,- starting with proper & prompt communication, having the travel trailer set up & ready to walk into to a detailed walkthrough and ensuring that everything worked as it should. I highly recommend Randy & Kim! You can't find better hosts!!

Your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Three Rivers. Michigan does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for personal-use motorhomes or trailers under 26,000 pounds, which covers essentially every Class B campervan, Class C motorhome, and travel trailer on RVezy. What if my plans change? Can I cancel my Three Rivers RV rental?

Booking is low-risk, so go ahead and lock in those dates. Plans shift, weather changes, and the RVezy policy is built to flex with you, including considerations for severe weather and natural disasters. You can review the full details on the RVezy Help Center before you book. Tip: book early to secure the best Three Rivers rigs for summer weekends, since you can always review your options later.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Three Rivers?

Yes, RV delivery in Three Rivers is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if you have never towed before. Many local hosts will drive the RV to your campsite at Klines Resort, Covered Bridge Farm Park, or a private property, level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Delivery fees are usually based on mileage from the host's location, so request a quote through the listing. This is the secret weapon for a stress-free first time renting an RV: you show up with groceries and start your vacation. Many hosts also offer pickup at the end of your stay.

When is the best time of year to rent an RV in Three Rivers?

Late May through mid-October is prime time for renting an RV in Three Rivers, with peak weather from mid-June to early September when daytime highs typically sit in the upper 70s to mid-80s F. Spring (May to early June) brings blooming trees along the St. Joseph River and lower nightly rates, while fall (late September into mid-October) delivers stunning Southwest Michigan color and crisp 50 to 65 F days perfect for campfires. Winters get cold (often in the 20s F with snow), and most local campgrounds close from late October through April. If you want a quieter, cheaper Three Rivers RV trip with great fishing and fewer mosquitoes, target the first two weeks of September.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay?

You will do great, and you will not be figuring it out alone. Every RVezy host gives a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering driving, leveling, propane, water hookups, generator, and waste tanks, and they are a text message away during your trip. For your first time renting an RV in Three Rivers, consider a Class C motorhome or a smaller travel trailer under 25 feet, which handle well on rural roads like M-60 and US-131. Practice a few right turns and reverse stops in a large parking lot before heading out. Within an hour of driving, most first-timers feel completely comfortable.

Your host is typically your first text for quick questions about RV-specific systems like the awning or slide-out. The RVezy support team is available before, during, and after your trip, so help is always just a tap away.

You have room to roam. Interstate travel is welcome on most RVezy rentals, so road-tripping from Three Rivers to Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, or Wisconsin is no problem. Cross-border trips into Canada (Ontario is only about 3.5 hours away via Detroit) may be allowed depending on the host and insurance coverage, so message the host directly from the listing before booking to confirm. One firm rule: travel into Mexico is not allowed on any RVezy rental due to insurance limitations. Popular routes from Three Rivers include the Lake Michigan shoreline north toward Traverse City and a quick hop into Indiana for Amish Country and the Indiana Dunes.

Plan ahead and you will not be surprised at the pump. Class C motorhomes around Three Rivers typically get 8 to 12 miles per gallon on regular gas, Class B campervans average 15 to 20 mpg, and a truck towing a travel trailer lands around 10 to 14 mpg. Michigan gas prices generally track close to the national average, so figure roughly $0.35 to $0.55 per mile for fuel on a Class C. There are plenty of pumps along US-131 and M-60 with easy RV access in and around Three Rivers. Pro tip: GasBuddy shows the cheapest diesel and regular within a 20-mile radius before you fill up.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Three Rivers?

For the best Three Rivers RV trip, book your campsite as soon as you confirm your dates. Michigan state parks open reservations up to six months in advance through MiDNRReservations.com, and prime summer weekends at Fort Custer Recreation Area or Warren Dunes fill quickly once dates open. Private parks like Klines Resort and Covered Bridge Farm Park typically book 2 to 3 months ahead for July and August. Shoulder-season trips (May, early June, September) are usually easy to grab two to three weeks out. Pro tip: midweek arrivals (Sunday or Monday) almost always have availability even in peak season, and rates are often lower too.

What are driving conditions like around Three Rivers?

Driving an RV around Three Rivers is genuinely relaxing. The main routes (US-131, M-60, and M-86) are wide two-lane and four-lane highways with gentle curves and no mountain grades, great for new RV drivers. Watch for occasional Amish horse-and-buggy traffic on rural roads east toward Centreville and Colon (the Magic Capital of the World), and be ready for tight turns through historic downtown Three Rivers, where some older bridges over the St. Joseph, Rocky, and Portage Rivers have posted weight limits. Summer thunderstorms can pop up quickly, so check the radar before hitting the road. Winter brings ice and lake-effect snow, which is why most local RV rentals run April through October.

Fort Custer Recreation Area has modern restrooms, hot showers, and a sanitation station, and many sites have fire rings and picnic tables. Potable water fill stations are available at most state parks. Cell coverage from major carriers is generally solid in this region, though it can dip in wooded areas. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot drinking-water hose and a surge protector, two small items that make every campground stay smoother.

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment is simple and secure, all through RVezy, with no cash exchanged with the host. You pay your nightly rate, taxes, any add-ons, and the chosen protection plan at checkout with a credit or debit card. A refundable security deposit (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV) is pre-authorized on your card before pickup and released after your trip once the host confirms no damage. To avoid any deposit issues, take photos of the RV inside and out at pickup, dump your tanks before return if required, and refuel to the agreed level. That keeps everything smooth and gets your deposit back fast.
