Was a quick 3 day weekend. It couldn’t have been easier. Mark was very accessible and helpful. Would definitely recommend renting from him.

Mark was easy to work with, and Ruby was a great way for us to put our toes in the RV world.

We loved this pop-up trailer! Found this trailer through a search. I don’t think we could have found a better person to rent from for our first RVezy trip. Stephen was very helpful and speedy in his communication. Everything worked great. AC was a beast and handled Texas heat no problem. The heater worked great for the cold nights in Louisville. Stephen helped us get on our way with a bag of tools and practically everything we needed. We towed this thing with our 2015 Honda Odyssey. I would absolutely recommend renting this trailer from Stephen.

Travis S. - Jun 2024

The Adkins Family pop-up was just what we needed to get outta town and unplug. Stephen did a great job showing us how to set it up and take it down. The pop-up was stocked with cooking supplies and full on propane when we picked it up. It travelled well on the road and was a perfect for for a family of 4. Stephen was a great host and communicated quickly before and throughout the trip. We would definitely consider renting again.

Planning to rent an RV in Ohio off-peak (like spring or fall) means more availability and lower rates. For the best deal, filter for 'cheap RV rental Columbus' and consider weekday travel, which is less expensive. Some hosts offer discounts for longer rentals or early bookings. Booking early, especially during OSU football season or festivals, helps you snag the best options before they're gone.

Pro tip: reach out to the host with any special pet requests to make your rental even smoother.

Can the RV be delivered to my location in Columbus?

Yes, many hosts offer RV delivery in Columbus! Choose delivery at checkout and your RV can come straight to your driveway, a local campground, or even your spot at Alum Creek, Buckeye Lake, or Scioto Grove. The host will handle setup and give you a walkthrough: perfect if you're a first-timer or just want to skip the city traffic. Get all the adventure, none of the stress.

How do mileage and travel limits work when renting an RV in Columbus?

Most motorhome rental options in Columbus include a set amount of free miles per night: often 100 to 200. Some hosts offer RV rental with unlimited mileage on select vehicles. You'll see the policy at booking, so there are no surprises. If you're dreaming about a road trip from Columbus to Hocking Hills or even Cedar Point, ask the host for extra miles up front. It's easy to plan your perfect adventure and avoid overage fees.

Where can I park or camp my RV around Columbus?

You've got great options for RV camping near Columbus! Try Alum Creek State Park Campground (beachfront, full hookups), Cross Creek Camping Resort (family-friendly, near Delaware), or Buckeye Lake/Columbus East KOA. For local city events, look for temporary overnight RV parking offered during Ohio State football weekends. For more urban stays, Scioto Grove Metro Park offers beautiful riverside sites: just remember to book ahead during peak season.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip in Columbus?

Spring and fall are the sweet spots for RV camping in Columbus: think April to early June and September through October. Summers (highs in the 80s °F) mean festivals and lake days, but more crowds. Winters bring cold (lows near 20°F), but cozy RVs with heated tanks still make Buckeye Lake or Hocking Hills a winter wonderland. Book early for fall colors, and pack some layers for Ohio's famous weather swings.

I've never rented an RV before. Is it hard to drive around Columbus?

You'll be pleasantly surprised: RV driving in Columbus is straightforward, especially with wide city streets and direct freeway access via I-70 and I-71. Every host gives a personal walkthrough, includes a practice drive, and answers all your questions. If city driving feels daunting, try RV delivery and pickup outside the downtown core or camp near John Glenn Columbus International Airport for an easy start. There's plenty of support to make your first RV adventure a breeze.

What happens if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?

You're never on your own: every RV rental in Columbus comes with 24/7 roadside assistance. If you get a flat tire, lose power, or have any mechanical issues, help is just a phone call away, day or night. The host is also your direct contact and can help troubleshoot little things. Colder months? Teams can even guide you through winterizing for sudden freezes. All you need to focus on is the adventure.

You're free to take your RV anywhere in the contiguous United States from Columbus: road trip possibilities are wide open! Popular destinations from Columbus include Hocking Hills (60 miles), Cincinnati (115 miles), Cleveland (145 miles), and even Kentucky's Red River Gorge (180 miles). Just check with your host before booking if you're thinking of crossing state lines, and remember, travel to Canada or Mexico isn't covered. Enjoy the open road!

How much should I budget for fuel on my Columbus RV trip?

Plan on most motorhome rentals in Columbus averaging 8-12 miles per gallon; travel trailers and campervans often do a bit better. Ohio gas prices typically range from $3-$3.50/gallon. For a loop to Hocking Hills and back (about 120 miles total), expect $30-$50 in fuel for most RVs. Tip: Keep an eye out for Ohio Turnpike rest stops with easy RV lanes and stations. Budget a little extra if you'll use the generator or do lots of AC.

How far ahead should I book campgrounds near Columbus, and how do I get the best spots?

For best odds, book Columbus-area campgrounds like Alum Creek or Buckeye Lake State Parks at least two to three months ahead, especially for summer weekends or OSU events. Use the official Ohio State Parks reservation system for waterfront or electric sites. Private resorts like Cross Creek and KOA fill even quicker for holidays. Many offer online reservations with site maps, making it easy to get the perfect spot for your RV camping Columbus getaway.

What driving conditions should I expect for an RV rental in Columbus?

Most of Columbus has wide, flat streets and easy freeway entrances: perfect for first-time or family RV trips. Watch for low-clearance bridges in older downtown neighborhoods and occasional construction on I-70/270. Spring and fall bring rain and sudden storms, so drive cautiously and use headlights as needed. For city events, allow extra travel time. For a relaxing drive, escape the city toward Delaware or Hocking Hills for scenic rural routes.

What campground amenities can I expect when RV camping near Columbus?

Columbus-area campgrounds offer everything from full hookups (water, electricity, sewer) at places like Alum Creek and Buckeye Lake to simpler electric-only and primitive sites. Most have dump stations, drinking water fill-ups, hot showers, playgrounds, and laundry. If you need a full-service site, KOA Columbus East is a great pick. Many campgrounds now offer wifi and strong cell service so you can stay connected during your trip.

What equipment and amenities come with Columbus RV rentals?

Expect your Columbus RV rental to be fully equipped for comfort: beds with sheets, a working kitchen (stove, fridge, microwave), full bathroom, heater/AC, and plenty offer TVs or DVD players for movie night. Many units have WiFi hotspot options, and all have seatbelts for safe travels. Just check the listing to confirm if you need a generator or specific bed sizes for your family RV trip near Columbus. Hosts will walk you through setup at pickup.

What features, add-ons, or options can I expect with my Columbus RV rental?

You can customize your Columbus RV rental: popular add-ons include bike racks for Olentangy Trail rides, generators for power at Buckeye Lake, or even kayaks for the Scioto River. Hosts set reasonable pickup and dropoff windows and will explain mileage policies before you commit. Just select the features you want right on the listing and message the host about anything extra to make your Ohio getaway perfect.
