The company was super easy to work with. Jay (owner) is super nice and communicative. The trailer was dropped off a few hours after the originally scheduled time. However, Caleb (driver) was awesome to work with and very accommodating. He came to pick up the trailer right on time which was very appreciated. We did rent it over 4th of July week so they were very busy. The trailer has a ton of extras that are provided which was really nice and made the trip really nice and convenient. Overall, I would use there services again.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Aurora?

Aurora's sweet spot for RV camping is mid-April through late October, when daytime highs run from a comfortable upper 60s in April to the high 80s in July and back to the mid-70s in October. Spring (April-May) brings dogwoods, wildflowers, and trout season at Roaring River; fall (late September-October) delivers stunning Ozark foliage and fewer crowds. Summers get hot and humid, so prioritize RVs with strong air conditioning and shaded campsites. Winter rentals are possible too, January lows average in the mid-20s F, but think of it as a cozy adventure with heated rigs and quiet trails. The shoulder seasons are the smart-money move.

I've never driven an RV. Will I be okay renting in Aurora?

You're going to do great. First time renting an RV in Aurora is genuinely manageable because the area's two-lane highways (like Route 60 and Highway 39) are open, well-maintained, and far less stressful than big-city driving. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through driving tips, slide-outs, the generator, water systems, and dump procedures. You can also message the host beforehand with any questions, and RVezy's support team is there if you need help mid-trip. Tip: start small with a Class C motorhome or campervan rental in Aurora, both drive much like a large van and are perfect for confidence-building on your first Ozarks loop.

You can also message your host directly through the RVezy app, most are local to the Aurora-Springfield area and can troubleshoot quickly. For medical or law-enforcement emergencies, dial 911; the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D covers the Aurora region. Tip: snap photos of the RV at pickup and save the host's number in your phone before you hit the road.

Can I take my Aurora RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Cross-border road tripping is on the table. Most Aurora hosts welcome interstate travel, popular routes include heading south into Arkansas for Eureka Springs and Buffalo National River, west to Tulsa, Oklahoma, or northeast to St. Louis and beyond. Travel to Canada is sometimes allowed depending on the host and the protection plan you choose, so message the listing directly before booking to confirm. One firm rule: travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance coverage does not extend there. Tip: a classic loop from Aurora is the four-state Ozarks circuit through Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas, doable in 5 to 7 days.

How much should I budget for fuel on an Aurora RV trip?

Fuel is easier to budget than you'd think. Missouri consistently has some of the lowest gas prices in the country, and Aurora has multiple stations on Business 60 and along Highway 39. Expect a Class C motorhome to get 8 to 10 miles per gallon, a campervan rental in Aurora to deliver 15 to 20 mpg, and a truck pulling a travel trailer to land around 10 to 12 mpg. For a typical 300-mile weekend loop to Branson and back, budget roughly $100 to $175 in fuel for a motorhome at current prices. Tip: fill up in Aurora or Marionville before heading into Branson, prices tend to creep higher inside the tourist zone.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Aurora?

For Missouri State Parks like Roaring River, Table Rock, and Bennett Spring, you can reserve up to 12 months ahead through the official system at icampmo.com or by calling 877-422-6766, and you absolutely should for big weekends. Trout season opener on March 1, Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day weekends sell out the moment the booking window opens. Private parks like Roaring River Hills and Oak Hill Court usually have more flexibility, often bookable a few weeks out. Same-day reservations are also accepted at state parks online up to 7 p.m. Pro tip: weekends at Table Rock and Lake of the Ozarks require a two-night minimum, so plan your itinerary accordingly.

What are the roads like around Aurora for RV driving?

You'll find Aurora's roads refreshingly RV-friendly. U.S. Route 60 (a four-lane divided highway) runs right through town and connects easily to Springfield and Branson, while Highway 39 heads north to Mt. Vernon and I-44. Expect rolling Ozark hills with some grades around Branson and Table Rock Lake, plus winding two-lane stretches near Roaring River, take those slowly and use lower gears on descents. Spring brings the occasional thunderstorm and rare tornado watches (April-June), so check the National Weather Service Springfield forecast before you roll out. Winter ice storms are possible December through February. Tip: avoid driving Branson's Route 76 strip in a big rig at peak hours; park outside town and use the trolley.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Aurora?

Campgrounds around Aurora come well-equipped for a comfortable stay. State parks like Roaring River and Table Rock offer basic, electric (30-amp), and full-hookup sites (50-amp with water and sewer), modern bathhouses with hot showers, dump stations, and potable water fill stations. Private parks like Roaring River Hills add Wi-Fi, laundry, swimming pools, and camp stores. Roaring River, Bennett Spring, and Montauk open earlier for trout season in late February. Dump stations are available at most state parks even if you stayed at a primitive site. Tip: top off fresh water in Aurora before heading to remote Mark Twain National Forest sites, where hookups are scarce.

Mileage policies vary by listing, expect 100 to 150 free miles per day with options to prepay extra, or look for unlimited-mileage listings. How do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and secure, no cash, no awkward handoffs. When you book your RV rental in Aurora, MO, RVezy charges your card for the rental total through the platform, protecting both you and the host. A refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your card before pickup and released after your trip, assuming no damage or policy violations. To avoid deposit issues, take timestamped photos of the RV inside and out at pickup and dropoff, return it with the fuel and propane levels noted in your agreement, and empty the tanks at a dump station.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

Can I rent an RV in Aurora during winter?

Yes, and winter RV camping in the Ozarks has its own quiet magic. Several Aurora hosts keep their rigs available year-round, just filter for winter dates on RVezy and message hosts about cold-weather readiness. January is Aurora's coldest month with average lows in the mid-20s F and occasional snow, so look for RVs with heated holding tanks, an enclosed underbelly, a working furnace, and the option to plug into 30/50-amp shore power at a campground. Roaring River State Park stays open with electric sites year-round, and trout season kicking off March 1 is a Missouri tradition worth experiencing. Tip: ask your host for a quick winterization walkthrough, disconnecting the freshwater hose at night helps prevent frozen pipes.
