2022 Jayco Class C
Jason and Gina were excellent hosts.I don't want to say too much in case we were being spoilt but they are genuinely great people. RV was spotless, clean, cooled and full of water and petrol. We were newbies to RVing and any questions we had Jason answered quickly by what's app. Pick up and drop off were flawless and times were very flexible. Jason also dropped us back to the airport which was very handy. We would recommend hiring from Jason and Gina and he has some other trailers he rents out also.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Akron, NY
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Akron, NY?
RV rental in Akron, NY is one of the more affordable ways to explore Western New York. On RVezy you will typically find travel trailers from around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes from $175 to $275 per night, and Class A coaches starting near $250 per night. Hosts set their own nightly rates, mileage caps, and add-ons like generators or camp chairs, so you can tailor the booking to your budget. For a cheaper RV rental in Akron, book midweek in late May or early September when nightly rates are lower and Niagara Falls crowds are thinner. Filter by Delivery to skip towing if you are new to RVing.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Akron,%20New%20YorkWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Akron, NY?
A standard New York State or any U.S. state driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Akron, NY. No commercial driver's license (CDL) or special RV endorsement is required for Class A, Class B, or Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, or fifth wheels booked through RVezy. Approved drivers must generally be at least 25 years old, and RVezy verifies your ID securely during the booking process so there is no paperwork shuffle at pickup. Visiting from overseas? Bring an International Driving Permit along with your home-country license. Verification is usually completed in just a few minutes.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs RV rental insurance and roadside assistance included for my Akron trip?
Yes. Every RV rental in Akron, NY booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can head out on Route 5 or I-90 with peace of mind. The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV up to the plan limits and offers far more financial protection than a standard car-rental waiver. During checkout you choose the protection tier that fits your trip, so you control the level of coverage. RVezy, not the individual host, sets these plans, which keeps coverage consistent across every booking. If you are driving through lake-effect weather between Buffalo and Rochester, the higher tier is worth considering.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if my plans change? Can I cancel my Akron RV rental?
Yes, you can book your Akron RV rental with confidence. RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy across the platform, and every booking includes a grace period right after you reserve so there is a real safety net if your plans shift. Refund amounts after that grace window depend on how close you are to your trip start date. If your host cancels, RVezy refunds you or provides travel credit so you are never left without options. You will see full cancellation terms in your booking confirmation and on the RVezy Help Center. If a Buffalo Bills home-game weekend forces a change, message your host early since many will help with rescheduling.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on an Akron, NY RV rental?
Yes, a pet-friendly RV rental in Akron, NY is easy to find. Toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see listings whose hosts welcome dogs (and sometimes cats). Hosts set their own pet rules and may charge a small cleaning fee, which is shown upfront before you book. Once you are rolling, your dog will love the leashed trails at nearby Akron Falls Park, the Erie Canal towpath in Lockport, and the loops at Darien Lakes State Park about 20 miles south. New York State Parks require proof of current rabies vaccination for all dogs at campgrounds, so pack a copy before you leave.
parks.ny.gov/regulations/pets.aspxCan the RV be delivered to me in or near Akron, NY?
Yes, RV delivery in Akron, NY is one of the most popular options on RVezy and a great choice if it is your first time renting an RV. Use the Delivery filter on the listing page to see hosts who will drive the RV to your campground, driveway, or event site, level it, hook up water and electric, and walk you through every system before they leave. Common drop-off spots include Akron Falls Park, Darien Lakes State Park, and campgrounds near Niagara Falls about 35 miles northwest. Hosts typically charge a per-mile delivery fee that is shown upfront. Ask about a full setup package so you can arrive, unpack groceries, and start your trip with zero stress.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038104634-What-is-RV-deliveryHow far can I drive on an Akron RV trip, and is unlimited mileage available?

Most RVezy hosts include a daily mileage allowance (often 100 to 150 miles per day), and many offer an RV rental with unlimited mileage, ideal for a long loop. Each listing shows the mileage policy clearly before you book, and extra miles typically run about $0.30 to $0.45 each. From Akron, popular drives include Niagara Falls (about 35 miles, 45 minutes), Letchworth State Park (about 60 miles, 75 minutes), Seneca Lake wine country (about 90 miles, under 2 hours), and Watkins Glen (about 110 miles, just over 2 hours). Estimate your mileage at booking and add a buffer, it is almost always cheaper than paying overage at return.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Akron,%20New%20YorkWhere are the best campgrounds near Akron, NY?
You have great choices when it comes to RV camping near Akron, NY. Top picks include Darien Lakes State Park (about 20 miles south in Darien Center) with wooded electric sites near the amusement park; Niagara Falls KOA Resort in Niagara Falls, which puts you minutes from the Falls with full hookups; Branches of Niagara Campground on Grand Island with big-rig pull-throughs and a pool; and Hamlin Beach State Park on Lake Ontario, which delivers lakeshore sunsets about an hour east. Evangola State Park on Lake Erie is another solid option roughly an hour southwest. New York State Parks open reservations up to 9 months ahead through ReserveAmerica, so book early for July and August weekends.
newyorkstateparks.reserveamerica.com/When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Akron, NY?
Late May through early October is the sweet spot for an RV road trip from Akron, NY. June brings warm days averaging in the mid-70s°F and lush greenery, July and August peak in the low 80s°F with long evenings perfect for campfires, and September into early October delivers fiery foliage along the Genesee Valley with crisp 60s°F by day. Winters in Western New York are cold (highs often in the upper 20s°F with frequent lake-effect snow) and most campgrounds close from November to mid-April. Aim for the second or third week of September to catch early fall color at Letchworth State Park, thinner Niagara Falls crowds, and lower nightly rates on your motorhome rental.
weather.gov/buf/I've never rented an RV before. Will I know what to do?
You will be in good hands, first-time RV renters are exactly who RVezy is built for. Every host provides a walkthrough at pickup (or at delivery if they bring the RV to you), covering how to operate the propane, water, generator, slide-outs, awning, and dump tanks. You can message your host directly through the listing before booking to ask anything, including what size RV is right for your group. During your trip, 24/7 RVezy support and roadside assistance are one tap away. For your first Akron, NY trip, consider a Class C motorhome or a small travel trailer, they drive much like a large van and fit easily at Darien Lakes and Niagara-area campgrounds.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat happens if something goes wrong on the road near Akron?
You are covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you are parked at Akron Falls Park or somewhere along I-90. Roadside service handles flat tires, jump-starts, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing to the nearest qualified repair facility. If something more complex comes up, RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip to coordinate with your host and keep your plans on track. Program both the RVezy support line and your host's number into your phone before you leave. Cell coverage is generally solid throughout Erie County but can get patchy in the Letchworth gorge.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Akron RV rental into Canada or other states?
Cross-border travel is often possible on an RV road trip from Akron, NY, you are only about 35 miles from the Peace Bridge and Rainbow Bridge into Ontario. Many RVezy hosts allow Canada trips, but you must get the host's written approval in advance because protection coverage needs to be confirmed for cross-border travel. Message the host directly from the listing before booking. Interstate travel within the U.S. is generally allowed; popular routes from Akron include Niagara Falls, the Adirondacks (about 5 hours east), Pittsburgh (about 3.5 hours south), and Cleveland (about 3 hours west). Travel to Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental. Have your passport, vehicle registration, and host permission letter ready at the border.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat kind of fuel mileage and gas budget should I plan for?
Budgeting fuel for your Akron RV trip is easy once you know the ballpark. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 MPG, Class A coaches run 6 to 10 MPG, and a truck towing a travel trailer typically delivers 10 to 14 MPG. Most rentals run on regular gasoline; some Class A and diesel pushers use diesel, which the listing will note. Gas prices in the Buffalo–Akron area typically run somewhat above the U.S. average due to New York fuel taxes. Fill up in Pembroke or Batavia along I-90 before heading to Niagara or Letchworth, prices there are often noticeably cheaper per gallon than in tourist zones.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Akron?
Book sooner than you think, especially for prime summer weekends. New York State Parks (Darien Lakes, Letchworth, Hamlin Beach, Evangola) open reservations 9 months in advance through ReserveAmerica, and July 4th, Labor Day, and Bills home-game weekends can fill quickly. Private parks like Branches of Niagara and Niagara Falls KOA usually take reservations 6 to 12 months out. For shoulder-season trips in May, June, or September, 2 to 4 weeks ahead is usually enough. If a state park site is full, set a ReserveAmerica alert, cancellations happen regularly and you can often snag a Letchworth site within a week of your trip. Combine that with RVezy delivery for a stress-free first trip.
newyorkstateparks.reserveamerica.com/What are driving conditions like around Akron, NY?
Driving an RV around Akron, NY is beginner-friendly. The village sits just off NY Route 93 with easy access to I-90 (the New York State Thruway), where wide lanes and gentle grades make highway miles relaxed. Local roads through Newstead, Clarence, and Lockport are flat-to-rolling farmland, perfect for getting comfortable behind the wheel. Two things to watch: lake-effect snow off Lake Erie can reduce visibility quickly between November and March, and some older bridges in and near downtown Buffalo have low clearances, so stick to the Thruway in a tall RV. Most listings include a backup camera and side cameras, ask your host to show you the views during the walkthrough so you are confident before your first turn.
511ny.org/What hookups and amenities will I find at campgrounds near Akron?
Campgrounds near Akron, NY range from basic to fully loaded. New York State Parks like Darien Lakes and Letchworth typically offer electric (20/30/50-amp) sites with central water spigots, hot-shower bathhouses, and a sanitary dump station, but not full hookups at the site. Private parks such as Branches of Niagara and Niagara Falls KOA usually offer full hookups (water, electric, sewer) plus Wi-Fi, laundry, and pools. Most campgrounds have potable water fill stations near the entrance. For where to park an RV in Akron without a hookup, many Cracker Barrel locations off I-90 allow free overnight parking with permission, and the Walmart in Batavia is generally RV-friendly, just call ahead and stay only one night.
parks.ny.gov/camping/What features and amenities come inside the RV?
Today's RVs are well equipped. Most RVezy rentals near Akron, NY come with real beds (often a queen master plus convertible dinette or bunks), a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, air conditioning, a propane furnace for cool Western New York nights, and seatbelted seating for everyone listed on the booking. Many include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor awning, and a generator for off-grid power. Wi-Fi hotspots, bikes, kayaks, and camp chairs are common add-ons hosts offer for a small fee. Filter listings by your group size and read the amenities list closely, a family RV trip in Akron is smoother when you confirm seatbelts match the number of passengers before booking.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Akron,%20New%20YorkWhat add-ons and pickup options should I expect?
Hosts offer plenty of options to customize your RV rental near Akron, NY. Common add-ons include generators ($25 to $50 per day), bedding and linen packages ($30 to $75 per trip), kitchen kits, outdoor chairs, propane fire pits, kayaks, bike racks, and Wi-Fi hotspots. Delivery (with optional setup and pickup) is very popular in the Akron area, and many hosts deliver within 50 miles of the village. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Newstead, Clarence, Lancaster, or Buffalo, with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough included. Mileage policies vary by listing and are shown clearly before booking. For your first trip, consider bundling delivery, setup, generator, and bedding, the small upcharge buys a true turn-key vacation.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038104634-What-is-RV-deliveryHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is straightforward and secure. When you book an RV in Akron, NY through RVezy, you pay the full trip cost (rental, protection plan, fees, and any add-ons) by credit card through the platform, never in cash to the host. A refundable security deposit is held on your card before pickup; the amount is shown on each listing and depends on the RV, typically $500 to $1,500. As long as you return the RV in the agreed condition with the agreed mileage and a clean interior, the hold is released after check-in per RVezy's deposit process. Do a quick walkaround video at pickup and drop-off, time-stamped photos protect both you and the host and keep your deposit return smooth.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksHow do I handle cold weather or shoulder-season trips from Akron?
Shoulder-season camping around Akron, NY can be excellent if your RV is set up for it. October nights drop into the 30s°F and April can still see snow, so look for listings labeled 4-season, heated tanks, or enclosed underbelly on RVezy. Most Class C motorhomes have a propane furnace that handles nights in the 20s°F with no problem; just keep a fresh propane tank and run the water pump rather than rely on a frozen exterior hookup. Several private campgrounds near Niagara Falls stay open into late October, and some KOAs offer winter electric sites with heated bathhouses. Pair a heated RV with a fall foliage drive through Letchworth State Park in mid-October, the gorge in peak color is one of the East Coast's best-kept secrets.
