2022 Jayco Class C
Jason and Gina were excellent hosts.I don't want to say too much in case we were being spoilt but they are genuinely great people. RV was spotless, clean, cooled and full of water and petrol. We were newbies to RVing and any questions we had Jason answered quickly by what's app. Pick up and drop off were flawless and times were very flexible. Jason also dropped us back to the airport which was very handy. We would recommend hiring from Jason and Gina and he has some other trailers he rents out also.

Antwain, delivered the RV to my home and took as much time as needed to show all of the options of the RV and how they worked. The RV met all of my expectations from condition to drivability. I would definitely rent from him again.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Barker, NY
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Barker, NY?
Good news: RV rental in Barker, NY is one of the most affordable ways to experience the Lake Ontario shoreline. On RVezy, travel trailers typically start around $90 to $150 per night, campervans and Class B rentals run about $150 to $225 per night, and larger Class A or Class C motorhomes range from $200 to $350 per night. Because Barker is a small lakeshore community, hosts often price more competitively than you would see closer to Niagara Falls. For a cheap RV rental in Barker, target shoulder season weeks in May or September, book midweek, and filter for travel trailers with shorter minimum stays. Pro tip: many hosts offer weekly discounts that can knock 10 to 20 percent off your total.
niagarafallsusa.com/places-to-stay/campgrounds-rv/What license do I need to rent an RV in Barker, NY?
Great news for first-time renters: your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Barker, NY. New York does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special endorsement for personal-use RVs, whether you're driving a campervan, Class C motorhome, or larger Class A. You'll just need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID through the platform during booking. Visiting from outside the US? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you're set to roll up the Seaway Trail toward Golden Hill State Park.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs my Barker RV rental protected if something goes wrong?
Yes, every RV rental in Barker, NY booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can focus on the lake views instead of the what-ifs. At checkout you choose between protection plan tiers (not the host), each offering different levels of coverage for accidental damage to the RV. This provides real financial peace of mind whether you're parked at Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse or driving Route 18 along Lake Ontario. Roadside help is just a phone call away if you have a flat, a dead battery, or a lockout, day or night.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Barker RV trip?
Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets a clear cancellation policy for every reservation, including a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your dates with confidence. Cancellation outcomes depend on how far in advance you cancel relative to your trip start date. Hosts don't set their own cancellation terms, RVezy does, which keeps things consistent and fair. If your plans shift, just log into your RVezy account, open your trip, and follow the cancellation steps. Customer support is available before, during, and after every booking, including if lake-effect weather off Lake Ontario disrupts a spring or fall trip.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a Barker RV rental?
Absolutely, a pet-friendly RV rental in Barker, NY is easy to find on RVezy, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when you search and you'll see hosts who welcome four-legged travelers. Once you're here, your pup will love the area: Golden Hill State Park allows leashed dogs on its six miles of trails (proof of rabies vaccination is required at check-in), and Daisy Barn Campground in nearby Wilson is famously dog-friendly with open green space between the sites and the lake. Krull Park in Olcott, about 10 miles west, also has plenty of room to stretch four legs. Pro tip: message the host before booking if your dog is large or sheds heavily so cleaning expectations are clear.
parks.ny.gov/parks/goldenhillCan the RV be delivered to my campsite in Barker?
Yes, RV delivery in Barker is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers who'd rather skip driving a big rig altogether. Many local hosts will deliver and set up your RV directly at Golden Hill State Park, Hartland Hills Campground, or a private property along Lake Ontario, then walk you through the systems before they leave. Delivery fees are usually based on mileage from the host's location, so closer destinations like the Town of Somerset or Newfane cost less than delivery toward Lockport or Medina. Filter your search by Delivery on RVezy, then message the host to confirm your campsite address and any setup add-ons like generators or outdoor furniture.
parks.ny.gov/parks/goldenhill/details.aspxHow far can I drive from Barker on a typical RV rental?
You've got tons of range from Barker, and many hosts offer generous daily mileage allowances (some even with unlimited mileage for longer bookings). From Barker you can reach Niagara Falls in about 45 minutes (35 miles west), Buffalo in roughly 1 hour (55 miles), Rochester in about 1 hour 15 minutes (65 miles east along the lake), the Finger Lakes wine region in 2 hours, and the Adirondack foothills in around 5 hours. A Barker RV trip pairs perfectly with the Great Lakes Seaway Trail, a scenic byway that hugs Lake Ontario right past town. Pro tip: ask your host about their per-mile overage rate before booking so you can plan a route that fits your package.
fhwa.dot.gov/byways/byways/2310Where are the best campgrounds near Barker, NY?
You're spoiled for choice when RV camping in Barker. Golden Hill State Park (9691 Lower Lake Road, right in Barker) has roughly 60 sites with electric hookups, lake views, and the historic Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse on-site. Hartland Hills Campground in nearby Gasport offers 50-amp full hookups and pull-through sites that fit rigs up to 70 feet. Daisy Barn Campground in Wilson has 90 full hook-up sites right on Lake Ontario. A bit further east, Lakeside Beach State Park in Waterport and Hamlin Beach State Park near Rochester both offer wooded lakefront sites. Insider tip: Golden Hill's east-loop sites have the best sunset views over the lake.
parks.ny.gov/parks/goldenhill/details.aspxWhen is the best time of year for an RV trip from Barker?
The sweet spot for camping in Barker runs from mid-May through mid-October, with July and August offering warm 75 to 85°F days perfect for swimming and lighthouse tours. June is a local favorite: long daylight, fewer bugs than later summer, and easier campsite availability. September brings cool 60 to 70°F days, fall colors along the Niagara Escarpment, and harvest season at nearby Becker Farms and BlackBird Cider Works. Most New York State Parks campgrounds, including Golden Hill, close from late October until early May because of harsh lake-effect winter weather. If you love quiet, book the first two weeks of June or the week after Labor Day for the best combination of weather and elbow room.
weather.gov/buf/climateI've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay in Barker?
You'll do great, Barker is actually one of the friendlier places in Western New York to learn. The roads around town (Route 18, Quaker Road, Lower Lake Road) are flat, lightly trafficked, and well-suited to first-time renters. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering the propane, water, electrical, and slide-outs, and you can call or message them anytime during the trip with questions. Choosing delivery means you skip driving altogether: the host brings the RV to your campsite. Pro tip for first time renting an RV here: start with a travel trailer or Class C under 30 feet, and avoid driving through downtown Lockport or central Niagara Falls during peak summer afternoons.
dmv.ny.gov/driver-licenseWhat happens if I have a breakdown during my Barker RV trip?
You're covered: every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance with the protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you're parked along Lake Ontario or driving the Seaway Trail back toward Niagara Falls. Roadside support handles common issues like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and towing to a qualified service provider. Your host is also a direct lifeline, they know their RV better than anyone and can usually troubleshoot smaller issues by phone. Save both numbers in your phone before you leave. Pro tip: cell coverage is generally strong along Route 18 and Route 104, but can get patchy on rural farm roads inland, so download offline maps before you head out.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Barker RV rental across the border to Canada?
Cross-border travel from Barker into Canada (Niagara Falls, Toronto, Prince Edward County) is sometimes allowed, but it depends on your specific host's insurance and approval, so message them before booking. Many Barker hosts do allow Ontario trips since Toronto is literally visible across the lake from Daisy Barn Campground. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental. If you do head to Canada, you'll cross at the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge or Peace Bridge (about 35 to 50 minutes from Barker), so bring your passport, vehicle registration, and written permission from the host. Pro tip: avoid the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls with larger rigs, the approach is tight and traffic backs up.
cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/know-before-you-goWhat should I budget for fuel on an RV road trip from Barker?
Fuel is usually the second-biggest line item after the rental itself, but it's easy to plan for. Expect 8 to 12 miles per gallon for larger Class A and Class C motorhomes, 14 to 18 mpg for campervans and Class B rentals, and your tow vehicle's normal mpg minus 30 to 40 percent if you're pulling a travel trailer. New York gas prices typically run a bit above the national average, and you'll find the most competitive prices at stations in Lockport or Medina rather than the smaller stops directly in Barker. For a 4-day, 400-mile loop around Niagara Wine Country, budget roughly $150 to $250 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up before leaving Lockport heading north, options thin out fast.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Barker?
Lock in your campground as soon as your RV rental in Barker, NY is confirmed, especially for summer weekends. New York State Parks (including Golden Hill, Lakeside Beach, and Hamlin Beach) open reservations up to 9 months in advance through ReserveAmerica, and the best lakefront sites at Golden Hill book out within hours when the booking window opens for July and August. Private parks like Daisy Barn and Hartland Hills typically take direct phone or website reservations 3 to 6 months out. For shoulder-season trips in May, late September, or October, you can often book just 2 to 4 weeks ahead. Pro tip: if Golden Hill is full, set a ReserveAmerica alert, cancellations pop up frequently.
newyorkstateparks.reserveamerica.com/camping/golden-hill-state-park/r/facilityDetails.do?contractCode=NY&parkId=317What are driving conditions like around Barker?
Driving in and around Barker is refreshingly easy compared to most of Western New York, the area is rural, flat, and surrounded by farms and orchards. Route 18 (the Seaway Trail) and Route 104 are your two main east-west routes and both handle RVs of any size comfortably. Watch for agricultural equipment in spring and fall, deer at dawn and dusk, and lake-effect snow squalls from late November through March if you're traveling off-season. Summer thunderstorms can roll in fast off Lake Ontario, so check the forecast before driving. Pro tip: skip the Niagara Scenic Parkway with bigger rigs (some sections have low clearance) and use I-190 or Route 104 to reach Niagara Falls instead.
511ny.org/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Barker?
Campgrounds around Barker offer a wide range of amenities to make your stay easy. Golden Hill State Park has electric sites, restrooms with hot showers, a dump station, and potable water fill, but no sewer hookups at individual sites. Hartland Hills Campground and Daisy Barn offer full hookups (water, electric, and sewer) plus 50-amp service and WiFi. Most parks include picnic tables, fire rings, and pet-friendly common areas. For dumping and filling tanks between stops, Golden Hill's dump station and Newfane's marina facilities are reliable options. Pro tip: bring a 30-to-50 amp adapter and at least 50 feet of fresh water hose, some sites at state parks have hookups that are further from the pad than you'd expect.
parks.ny.gov/parks/goldenhill/details.aspxWhat's included inside a typical Barker RV rental?
Most motorhome rentals in Barker come fully equipped so you can essentially show up with clothes and groceries. Expect a queen or king bed, a kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, sink, and cookware, a bathroom with toilet and shower, climate control with air conditioning and a furnace, and seatbelted seats for everyone traveling. Class C and Class A motorhomes usually include a generator, and many hosts add bedding, towels, and outdoor chairs. WiFi and TVs vary, and since cell signal in rural Niagara County can be patchy, check the listing's amenity list and ask the host about cellular hotspots. Pro tip: confirm sleeping capacity matches the number of seatbelts before booking for a family RV trip in Barker.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Barker,%20New%20YorkWhat add-ons and pickup options should I know about?
RVezy hosts in Barker offer a variety of helpful add-ons that turn a good trip into a great one: generators (often $20 to $50 per day), bike racks, kayak and SUP carriers, outdoor grills, fire pits, linens and bedding packages, and even pre-stocked kitchen kits. Pickup is typically at the host's home in or near Barker, with delivery available for an extra fee tied to mileage. Mileage policies vary by listing, some include 100 to 200 free miles per day, others offer unlimited mileage on longer bookings, with overage rates usually $0.30 to $0.50 per mile. Pro tip: if you're planning a loop through Niagara Falls, Buffalo, and the Finger Lakes, book a listing with unlimited mileage to save real money.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Barker,%20New%20YorkHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is simple and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit card, never directly to the host, which keeps your booking protected. Your rental total and protection plan are charged when you book, and the security deposit is held separately a few days before pickup (typical range is $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV class). The deposit hold is released after your trip ends, provided the RV is returned on time, clean, with the fuel and propane at the agreed levels, and without damage beyond what the protection plan covers. Pro tip: take date-stamped photos of the inside, outside, and dashboard at both pickup and drop-off to make any deposit questions easy to resolve.
