Michael was a great host, easy communication and timely with needs. We needed some extra space for a family trip. Perfect for small group or family even with pets. The fact they can bring you the RV and pick it up was a plus. Kitchen and bed supplies also provided. We also took advantage of the provided chairs and smores to enjoy a campfire with the fam. Enjoy staying anywhere for less than a hotel room. Will use again...

Top notch experience! Kyle and his camper are both first class. The camper itself is gorgeous- plenty of room for my wife and I, daughter, son in law and grandson. This is a first class rig packed with all the goodies. Having 2 bathrooms was a big plus with 4 adults! We liked that it was chock full of cleaning supplies- Swiffer, cordless vac, etc. we could use daily just to spruce up. As far as Kyle goes- fantastic communicator, not only on drop off day but also leading up to the rental. A great experience all and all and we are looking forward to booking this camper for next year!

My family and I had a wonderful time at Southwick Beach State Park! Michael's RV has solar power which kept the refrigerator cold the entire week!!! Great for non-electric sites! We loved the strip lighting on the porch. The RV had everything we needed inside and out for a perfect stay. The generator and awning were easy to operate (push button). We will definitely rent from Michael again! Great family! Excellent communication! Thank you Michael & Family!

What happens if I need to cancel my Fair Haven RV booking?

Booking an RV rental in Fair Haven, NY is low-risk because RVezy sets the cancellation policy across the platform, not individual hosts. The policy is the same on every listing, so you don't have to read each one's fine print. Refund amounts depend on how far ahead of your trip you cancel, and the platform also outlines what happens in special situations such as host cancellations or major events. If a host cancels, RVezy helps you secure a refund or credit toward a replacement RV. Tip: book earlier rather than later so you have first pick of pet-friendly and delivery-ready RVs around Cayuga County, knowing the cancellation terms are consistent and transparent.

Many RVezy listings include generous mileage allowances, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage so you can roam freely. A central dump station and potable water are available to all campers, and RVs up to 35 feet can be accommodated. Cayuga Lake State Park about 40 minutes south offers another lakefront base, and Selkirk Shores State Park roughly an hour north along Lake Ontario is fantastic for fishing. Southwick Beach State Park, a bit farther up the coast, is also popular. Tip: pair your RV camping Fair Haven booking with a reservation at one of these parks well in advance for July weekends.

When is the best time to visit Fair Haven, NY in an RV?

July is the warmest month and brings the Sterling Renaissance Festival just minutes from town. I've never rented an RV before. How does the pickup work in Fair Haven?

First time renting an RV? You're in great hands. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup that covers the propane stove, water pump, slide-outs, awning, generator, and waste tanks. They'll show you how to hitch a travel trailer or simply hand you the keys for a motorhome, answer every question, and most are reachable by text throughout your trip. Many Fair Haven hosts also offer delivery, which means no stress about towing into Fair Haven Beach State Park's campground loops. Tip: arrive about 30 minutes early at pickup, record the walkthrough on your phone, and ask the host for their favorite local breakfast spot. Bayside Grill in the village is a popular pick.

You're never on your own. Your host is usually a quick text away too. Tip: snap a photo of the RV's tire size, VIN plate, and propane setup during your walkthrough so you can share details fast if something comes up on the road.

Can I take my Fair Haven RV rental across the border into Canada?

Cross-border trips from Fair Haven to Canada are possible on some RVezy rentals (Niagara Falls and Toronto are tempting just hours away), but you'll need the host's written approval and confirmation that their insurance extends across the border. Always message the host before booking to ask directly. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance does not extend there. You'll need a passport or other approved travel document for the Canadian crossing, and pets need up-to-date rabies certificates. Tip: the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge is a convenient crossing point from Fair Haven heading west, and Canadian campgrounds along Lake Ontario's north shore make for a memorable extension to your itinerary.

A weekend loop from Fair Haven to Watkins Glen and back (around 180 miles) usually costs $60 to $100 in fuel for a mid-size Class C. Tip: fill up in Wolcott or Fulton rather than directly in the village, where stations are limited, and use a fuel-price app for the cheapest pumps along Route 104.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Fair Haven?

For Fair Haven Beach State Park, book as early as possible. New York State Parks open campground reservations up to nine months in advance through ReserveAmerica, and prime summer weekends (especially Independence Day and Sterling Renaissance Festival weekends in July and August) routinely sell out quickly. For private parks in the area, three to six months ahead is usually safe. Midweek availability is much easier and a smart move for spontaneous trips. Tip: if Fair Haven Beach is full, try Selkirk Shores or Southwick Beach State Park up the coast, both also bookable on ReserveAmerica, then drive into Fair Haven for the day to enjoy the beach and grab a bite at Bayside Grill.

The village itself is small with low speed limits, and the entrance to Fair Haven Beach State Park has plenty of room for typical RVs (note the park accommodates RVs up to about 35 feet). Watch for sudden lake-effect downpours in summer and snow squalls from late fall through early spring. The Thruway (I-90) about 30 minutes south is your fastest route to Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo. Tip: stick to Route 104A as your main artery and avoid narrow side streets near the bluff overlooking Little Sodus Bay. Wineries along Sodus Bay and the Cayuga Wine Trail are very RV-accessible.

Private parks in the area generally provide full water, electric, and sewer hookups plus laundry and Wi-Fi. Dump and fill stations are also available at Selkirk Shores State Park. Tip: if your site has electric only or no hookups, fill your fresh tank on arrival and plan a quick dump on departure day at the park's exit dump station to avoid waiting in line.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment for your RV rental in Fair Haven, NY happens entirely through the secure RVezy platform, never directly to the host, which protects both sides of the booking. You'll pay the trip total through RVezy using a credit card, and a refundable security deposit is pre-authorized (not charged) on your card a few days before pickup. The deposit amount is shown on the listing and is released after the trip if the RV is returned in the same condition. To avoid issues, do a thorough walkaround with the host at pickup and dropoff, take date-stamped photos of the interior, exterior, tanks, and odometer, and follow the fuel and dump-station instructions. Tip: keep receipts for propane and fuel top-offs so any questions are easy to resolve quickly.

How do I handle cold weather if I rent an RV in Fair Haven in the shoulder season?

Shoulder-season RV camping Fair Haven is a hidden gem, and cold nights are very manageable with the right rig. Many RVezy listings in the area come with propane furnaces, and some include heated holding tanks and 30-amp shore power compatibility, which is perfect for crisp September and early October evenings when lows can drop into the 40s F. Fair Haven Beach State Park's main loops typically stay open into mid-October, giving you fall foliage along Lake Ontario without the summer crowds. Filter listings for four-season features or message the host to confirm furnace, insulation, and tank heater specs. Tip: pack an extra propane tank, bring a small electric space heater for electric sites, and plan an evening at a local winery, where the autumn lakeside views are spectacular.
