Belle communication , très ouvert . Roulotte très propre et bien équipée. Le bbq extérieur aurait été à nettoyer mais c’était vraiment un détail versus le reste . Nous reprendrons la même roulotte pour l’an prochain .

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Malone, NY
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Malone, NY?
An RV rental in Malone, NY is one of the most affordable ways to experience the Adirondacks and the North Country. On RVezy, travel trailers typically start around $90 to $150 per night, campervans run $125 to $200, and larger Class A or Class C motorhomes range from $175 to $325 per night. Pricing depends on the RV's age, size, and amenities, and many Franklin County hosts offer weekly discounts. For a cheap RV rental in Malone, book a travel trailer midweek in May or September when demand cools. Pro tip: filter by Instant Book to lock in your dates quickly for fishing season on Lake Titus.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Malone%2C%20New%20YorkWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Malone, NY?
You're in luck: a regular driver's license from any U.S. state or Canadian province is all you need to rent an RV in Malone, NY. No commercial driver's license (CDL) or special RV endorsement is required in New York State, even for the largest Class A motorhomes on RVezy. You'll need to be 25 or older and verify your identity through the RVezy platform during booking. Visiting from outside North America? Pick up an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home country before you fly in, alongside your home license. Once that's done, you're cleared to roll toward the Adirondacks.
dmv.ny.gov/driver-license/about-driver-licensesIs an RV rental in Malone protected if something goes wrong?
Yes, every RV rental in Malone booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built right into your reservation. That means most accidental damage to the RV is covered, and help is one phone call away whether you're at Deer River Campsite or deep in the Adirondack Park. During checkout, you choose from multiple protection tiers so you can pick the level of coverage that fits your comfort, you decide, not the host. Pro tip: first-time renters often select the top tier for the lowest deductible and maximum peace of mind.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat is the cancellation policy if my Malone RV trip plans change?
Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and refund amounts depend on how far in advance you cancel relative to your trip start date. The exact terms apply to every reservation and are shown to you before you confirm payment, so there are no surprises. If a host cancels on you, RVezy helps refund or rebook your trip. Pro tip: lock in your dates early for July and August (Adirondack peak season), knowing the RVezy cancellation policy is consistent across listings.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Malone, NY?
Yes, plenty of hosts offer pet-friendly RV rentals in Malone, so your dog can come along for the adventure. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy when searching to see listings that welcome four-legged co-pilots. Malone is a great area for dog owners: pets are welcome on-leash at most Adirondack Park trails, at Deer River State Forest, and around Lake Titus. Many local campgrounds also allow dogs at sites (not always in cabins). Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fees, and pack a long lead for the wide-open lakeshore areas.
dec.ny.gov/things-to-do/camping/pets-campingCan the RV be delivered to my campsite in Malone?
Yes, RV delivery in Malone is one of the most popular add-ons and a game-changer if it's your first time renting an RV. Many RVezy hosts will drive the rig directly to your campsite at Deer River Campsite, Meacham Lake, or your driveway in Malone, level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. Filter by Delivery on RVezy to see local hosts who offer it, then message them with your destination for a quote. Delivery fees are typically based on distance from Malone. Pro tip: delivery is ideal for families heading to a remote Adirondack site.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Malone%2C%20New%20YorkHow far can I drive on a Malone RV trip, and is unlimited mileage available?
You'll have plenty of room to roam. Most RVezy hosts in Malone include 100 to 150 free miles per night, which easily covers a loop through the Adirondacks or a run up to the Canadian border. Some hosts offer RV rentals with unlimited mileage, perfect for a longer Malone RV trip. From Malone you can reach Lake Placid (about 65 miles south), Saranac Lake (about 60 miles), Plattsburgh (about 55 miles east), Ottawa, Ontario (about 110 miles northwest), and Montreal (about 75 miles northeast). Extra miles typically run $0.30 to $0.45 each. Pro tip: filter listings by unlimited mileage if you're planning a multi-stop Adirondack road trip.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Malone%2C%20New%20YorkWhere are the best campgrounds near Malone, NY?
You have great options for RV camping near Malone within a short drive. Deer River Campsite, just outside town, offers hookups along the Deer River and is a local favorite for families. Meacham Lake Campground (about 30 miles south, run by NY State DEC) sits on a beautiful Adirondack lake with a large sandy beach. Fish Creek Pond Campground (about 50 miles south near Tupper Lake) is one of the most beloved DEC campgrounds in the Adirondacks. Pro tip: NY State DEC campgrounds book through ReserveAmerica, and waterfront sites at Meacham and Fish Creek go fast for July weekends.
dec.ny.gov/places/meacham-lake-campgroundWhen is the best time of year to rent an RV in Malone?
Late June through mid-September is the sweet spot for an RV rental in Malone, with daytime highs in the 70s and comfortable nights in the 50s, perfect for campfires under Adirondack stars. July is the warmest month (average high around 78 F), while May and early June can still be chilly with overnight lows near 45 F. Fall foliage from mid-September through early October is spectacular and a quieter shoulder season. Winters are cold (January average lows around 7 to 11 F with heavy snow), so summer and early fall are the prime windows. Pro tip: book your rig 3 to 4 months ahead for peak July dates.
weather.gov/btv/I have never driven an RV before. Will I be okay in Malone?
You'll do great. A first time renting an RV in Malone is genuinely one of the easier places to learn. Local roads like Route 11, Route 30, and Route 374 are wide, two-lane, and lightly trafficked. Every RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup covering driving, leveling, hookups, and the wastewater system, so you won't be guessing. If you'd rather skip the driving altogether, book a host who offers delivery and they'll set the RV up at your campsite. A campervan rental in Malone is another stress-free option since they drive much like a large van. Pro tip: practice backing into a wide pull-through site your first night.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat happens if I break down during my Malone RV trip?
You're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so help is just a phone call away whether you're on Route 30 heading toward the High Peaks or parked near Lake Titus. Roadside covers common issues like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and towing. Your host is also reachable by message in the RVezy app, and RVezy support is available before, during, and after every trip. Cell service can be spotty deep in the Adirondack Park, so save the roadside number in your phone before you leave Malone. Pro tip: download offline maps for Route 30 south of Paul Smiths.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Malone RV rental into Canada?
Cross-border trips to Canada may be possible from Malone (you're only about 15 miles from the Trout River and Fort Covington border crossings), but it depends on the host and the insurance terms on that listing. Message the host directly from the listing page before booking and confirm in writing that Canada travel is approved. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. If you're cleared for Canada, popular destinations include Montreal (about 75 miles from Malone) and Ottawa (about 110 miles). Pro tip: bring your passport, rental agreement, and proof of insurance to the border crossing for a smooth wave-through.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat should I budget for fuel on a motorhome rental Malone trip?
Fuel is very manageable when you plan ahead. A motorhome rental Malone NY typically gets 8 to 12 miles per gallon for a Class C, 6 to 9 MPG for a Class A, and 16 to 20 MPG for a campervan towing nothing. Gas prices in Franklin County usually run slightly below the New York State average, and you'll find competitive pumps at Stewart's Shops and Mirabito on West Main Street in Malone. For a typical 4-night loop covering 400 miles, plan on roughly $130 to $220 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: fill up in Malone before heading south on Route 30, gas stations get sparse once you're in the Adirondack Park.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far ahead should I book campgrounds near Malone?
Plan ahead for the best sites. New York State DEC campgrounds like Meacham Lake, Fish Creek Pond, and Rollins Pond open reservations 9 months in advance through ReserveAmerica, and prime July and August waterfront sites can sell out within hours of opening. For private parks like Deer River Campsite, 2 to 3 months ahead is usually plenty for summer weekends. Shoulder season (late May, early June, and September) is much more relaxed and often bookable a week or two out. Pro tip: if you strike out at Meacham Lake, check Buck Pond Campground or Lake Harris just down Route 30, they're equally beautiful and often have last-minute openings.
dec.ny.gov/things-to-do/camping/campground-reservationsWhat are driving conditions like around Malone?
Driving is genuinely pleasant: Malone sits at the northern edge of the Adirondacks where roads are open, scenic, and never crowded. Route 11 east-west and Route 30 south are the two main RV-friendly corridors, both wide with gentle grades. Watch for white-tailed deer at dawn and dusk (Franklin County has a high deer population), and slow down through small village centers like Constable and Brushton. From November through April, expect snow, ice, and occasional whiteout conditions, which is why most RVezy hosts here operate May through October. Pro tip: avoid narrow seasonal roads like the Floodwood Road area west of Saranac Lake in a big rig, stick to numbered state routes.
511ny.org/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Malone?
You'll find a great mix. Private parks like Deer River Campsite offer full hookups (water, 30/50 amp electric, sewer), Wi-Fi, hot showers, and a camp store. New York State DEC campgrounds such as Meacham Lake and Fish Creek Pond are more rustic with no hookups but include potable water spigots, dump stations, vault or flush toilets, and hand-pumped or pressurized water. In Malone itself, you can dump and fill at Deer River Campsite for a small fee even if you're not camping there. Pro tip: top off your fresh water tank and dump before heading deep into the Adirondacks since DEC sites are boondock-style and the nearest dump may be 20+ miles away.
dec.ny.gov/things-to-do/campingWhat amenities come standard in a Malone RV rental?
Today's RVs are surprisingly well-equipped. Most rentals from RVezy hosts in Malone include a full kitchen (fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with toilet and shower, comfortable sleeping for 4 to 8 people, climate control (furnace and air conditioning), seatbelts for traveling passengers, and basic kitchenware. Many include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor speakers, and a power awning. A generator is common in Class A and Class C motorhomes, which is helpful for boondocking at DEC sites like Meacham Lake. Wi-Fi varies (cell signal is spotty in the Adirondack Park). Pro tip: check the listing's amenities list and message the host to confirm linens, a coffee maker, and outdoor chairs are included.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Malone%2C%20New%20YorkWhat add-ons and pickup options are available for Malone rentals?
You can customize easily. Common host add-ons include linen and towel packages, kitchen kits, generators, bike racks, outdoor camping chairs, propane fire pits, kayak and paddleboard rentals, and Starlink Wi-Fi. Many Malone hosts offer delivery directly to Adirondack campgrounds, your hotel, or even Adirondack Regional Airport in Saranac Lake. Pickup is usually flexible in the early afternoon with return in the late morning, and hosts will often accommodate slightly different windows if you ask. Mileage policies vary by listing (typically 100 to 150 free miles per night). Pro tip: bundle add-ons at booking, it's almost always cheaper than buying them separately mid-trip.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Malone%2C%20New%20YorkHow do payment and the security deposit work for an RV rental in Malone?
Payment is simple and secure: everything goes through RVezy, no cash, no checks, and no third-party apps. You'll pay your total online when you book. The security deposit is handled separately from your booking payment and is held (not charged) on your card before pickup, typically a few hundred to a few thousand dollars depending on the RV. If the rig comes back in the same condition with tanks emptied and a clean interior, the hold is released after your trip. To avoid issues, do a thorough walkaround with the host at pickup and take dated photos of the exterior, interior, and odometer. Pro tip: ask the host for the nearest dump station before drop-off.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksAre Malone RV rentals available in winter, and how do I prep for cold weather?
Winter rentals do exist in Malone, though availability tightens from December through March due to deep cold (January average lows around 7 to 11 F) and heavy snow. If you're chasing a winter adventure (Titus Mountain skiing, snowmobiling on the Franklin County trail system, or ice fishing on Chateaugay Lake), filter RVezy for four-season RVs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and double-pane windows. Choose a site with full shore power so the furnace can run all night, and skirting the RV with foam board helps retain heat. Pro tip: book delivery to a winter-friendly park so you're not driving an unfamiliar rig on snow.
