We had such a great experience with this RV! It was perfect for our family of five — the beds were spacious and comfortable, and the RV was spotless with all the equipment we needed, which made our trip super convenient. Before our trip, they explained everything about the RV in detail, so we didn’t have any trouble and could just relax and enjoy. Communication was also very easy — they always responded quickly whenever we had questions. We’ll definitely rent again next time! Highly recommended!

What license do I need to rent an RV in High Point?

A regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in North Carolina, even for big Class A motorhomes. The state does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or special endorsement for personal RVs. To book on RVezy, approved drivers are generally required to be at least 25 years old, and identity verification happens right in the platform during checkout, so there is no extra paperwork at pickup. When is the best time of year for an RV trip from High Point?

High Point's humid subtropical climate makes RV camping comfortable much of the year. The sweet spots are April through early June (highs in the 70s and 80s, wildflowers blooming) and September through early November (60s and 70s with brilliant fall foliage across the Piedmont and Blue Ridge). July and August get hot and humid with highs near 90F and afternoon thunderstorms, so look for a rental with strong air conditioning. Winters are mild with highs typically in the upper 40s to low 50s and modest snowfall, so a winter High Point RV trip is doable for well-prepared travelers.

I have never driven an RV before. Is renting in High Point a good idea?

Yes, High Point is a great place for first time renting an RV. The terrain is gentle rolling Piedmont (no steep mountain grades), and roads like US-311, I-74, and routes toward Asheboro and Lexington are wide, well maintained, and low stress. Your RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup, covering driving, leveling, hookups, generator, and waste systems, and you can message them anytime during your trip. Choose delivery and you can skip driving altogether on your first night. Start with a smaller Class C motorhome or campervan rental in High Point, both easy to handle and forgiving for new drivers.

Can I take my High Point RV rental into Canada or Mexico?

Mexico trips are not allowed on RVezy rentals because protection and insurance coverage do not extend south of the border. Canada trips may be possible with explicit written approval from your host through the RVezy messaging system before booking, since not every owner permits cross-border travel. Within the US, you are free to roam wherever your mileage allowance allows. A popular RV road trip from High Point is the multi-state Blue Ridge Parkway run from Virginia through North Carolina, entirely within insured territory and one of the most scenic drives in the country.

How much should I budget for fuel on a High Point RV trip?

Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost, but it is predictable. Travel trailers towed by a truck average roughly 10 to 14 mpg, Class C motorhomes typically get 8 to 12 mpg, and campervans can stretch to 16 to 20 mpg. North Carolina gas prices often run slightly below the national average, with plenty of stations along I-40, I-85 and US-311 near High Point. For a 3 night trip covering about 300 miles in a Class C, plan on roughly $90 to $130 in fuel. Use the GasBuddy app and fuel up off the interstate in towns like Thomasville or Archdale for the best prices.

How far in advance should I book a campground near High Point?

For most of the year, 2 to 4 weeks ahead is plenty for the best campgrounds near High Point. The exceptions are NC State Parks like Hanging Rock, Pilot Mountain, and Stone Mountain, which open reservations through the official NC State Parks reservation system and fill quickly for October fall foliage weekends. Oak Hollow Campground takes reservations through the City of High Point, and Greensboro KOA Journey books through KOA.com. If you are visiting during the April or October High Point Market, book your campsite the moment you confirm your RV, since lodging demand across the Triad spikes hard.

What are the local driving conditions like around High Point?

Driving an RV around High Point is relaxing compared to most metros. The city sits in the flat to gently rolling Piedmont Triad, with major routes like I-40, I-85, I-74 and US-311 all RV friendly and well paved. Rush hour around Greensboro (about 10 minutes east) and Winston-Salem (about 20 minutes northwest) can slow you down on weekday mornings and from 4 to 6 p.m., so plan around it. Summer brings strong afternoon thunderstorms; pull off at a rest area for 30 minutes and they usually pass. Watch for occasional ice storms from December through February. Avoid the narrow downtown streets near the High Point Market showrooms during market weeks in April and October.

Oak Hollow Campground has full hookup sites and lake access with kayak rentals at Oak Hollow Marina. Greensboro KOA Journey adds a pool, dog park, propane refill, and playground. Most NC State Parks and KOA locations have public dump stations available. Fresh water fill is available at virtually every campground entrance. Ask your host if the RV comes with a sewer hose, drinking water hose, and surge protector (most do).

How do payments and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy's platform with a credit or debit card (never directly to the host), which keeps everything documented and protected. Your booking total covers the nightly rate, RVezy service fees, taxes, your chosen protection plan, and any add ons. A refundable security deposit is handled separately from your booking payment and is released after dropoff if the RV is returned in the same condition. To avoid deposit issues on your North Carolina RV rental, take dated photos and a short video at pickup and dropoff, return with a full fuel tank, and follow your host's instructions on emptying tanks.

Is a family RV trip from High Point a good idea?

It is one of the best family vacations in the Carolinas. Closer to home, kids love Oak Hollow Lake's beach and kayak rentals and the Piedmont Environmental Center's trail network.
