We had such a great experience with this RV! It was perfect for our family of five — the beds were spacious and comfortable, and the RV was spotless with all the equipment we needed, which made our trip super convenient. Before our trip, they explained everything about the RV in detail, so we didn’t have any trouble and could just relax and enjoy. Communication was also very easy — they always responded quickly whenever we had questions. We’ll definitely rent again next time! Highly recommended!

Cross-border travel into Canada is allowed with some RVezy hosts but requires advance written approval, message the host before booking. What kind of fuel mileage should I budget for a Kernersville RV trip?

Budgeting fuel for your Kernersville RV rental is straightforward once you know what you're driving. Class B campervans get 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 MPG, and larger Class A motorhomes typically run 6 to 10 MPG. Travel trailers don't burn fuel themselves but cut your tow vehicle's MPG by about 25 percent. North Carolina gas prices typically run slightly below the national average, and you'll find plenty of large pull-through stations along Business 40, I-40, and US-421 around Kernersville. Pro tip: download GasBuddy and fuel up in Kernersville or Winston-Salem before heading into the mountains, where prices climb noticeably past Mount Airy.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Kernersville?

For the best campgrounds near Kernersville, aim to reserve 2 to 3 months ahead in summer, and up to 6 months out for October fall-foliage weekends, which are wildly popular along the Blue Ridge Parkway. North Carolina State Parks like Hanging Rock and Pilot Mountain open their reservation window in advance through the official NC State Parks reservation system, so set a calendar reminder. Private parks like Greensboro KOA and Jomeokee take bookings further out. For a spontaneous Kernersville RV trip, Tuesday through Thursday nights almost always have availability somewhere within 30 minutes. Pro tip: pair your campground booking with your RVezy confirmation date to avoid scrambling for a site after you have already paid for the rig.

What are local driving conditions like around Kernersville?

Driving an RV around Kernersville is genuinely easygoing compared to most metros. The town sits at the I-40 and US-421 interchange between Winston-Salem and Greensboro, with wide highway lanes and gentle Piedmont terrain (elevations 800 to 1,000 feet). Watch for two specific things: low railroad bridges on side streets in downtown Winston-Salem (stick to numbered routes in anything over 11 feet), and afternoon thunderstorms in July and August that can bring sudden heavy rain on I-40. Summer humidity makes pavement slick during the first few minutes of rain. The route north on US-52 toward Mount Airy is RV-friendly with long passing lanes. Pro tip: avoid I-40 east through Greensboro between 4 and 6 PM on weekdays.

What amenities do campgrounds near Kernersville offer for RVs?

Campgrounds near Kernersville range from rustic state-park sites to full-resort RV parks, so you can pick your level of comfort. Greensboro KOA Journey and Jomeokee Campground offer full hookups (water, 30/50-amp electric, sewer), Wi-Fi, pools, and laundry. Oak Hollow Campground in High Point provides water and electric plus a centralized dump station. Hanging Rock and Pilot Mountain State Parks have water spigots and bathhouses with hot showers but no in-site hookups, so you'll dump on the way out at the park dump station. Most private parks sell propane and firewood on site. Pro tip: fill fresh water and dump tanks before leaving Kernersville at the Sheetz on South Main if your campground is hookup-free.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy at booking with a credit or debit card, never directly to the host, which protects both sides. A refundable security deposit is placed as a separate hold on your card before pickup and released after drop-off, assuming the RV comes back in the same condition. To avoid issues, do a thorough walk-around with your host at pickup and take date-stamped photos and video of the exterior, interior, and odometer. Same drill at drop-off. Pro tip: return the RV with the fuel and propane levels noted on your agreement to skip any refill fees after your Kernersville RV trip.
