Recent Martin RV rental reviews

2018 Coachmen Class C
Adam made this experience seamless. From the many questions we had before our trip to prepare and during even though we rented on a holiday weekend he was quick to respond anytime. This RV made it so nice to travel a long distance with 5 family members and 4 dogs and we were comfortable the whole trip. The RV interior was very easy to get the animal hair out as well at the end. We wanted to spend our last road trip with our girl (dog) so this was extra special to us to get to do this as many hotels do not allow her size. Threw in some of our own pillows, dog fencing and gas grill since our kiddos allergic to wood and it was perfection! Gas mileage was exactly as Adam advised as well making it easy to budget for gas. Will be renting from him again!

Travel trailers typically start around $80 to $150 per night, while Class C motorhomes generally range from $175 to $275 per night. What license do I need to rent an RV in Martin, Tennessee?

A regular Class D driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Martin, Tennessee. The state does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special endorsement for personal-use RVs, even larger Class A motorhomes. What happens if I need to cancel my Martin RV rental?

Booking your Martin RV trip is low-risk because RVezy (not individual hosts) manages cancellations through a clear, standardized policy that isn't displayed in individual listings. There is a grace period after booking where you can cancel for a full refund, and the refund amount after that depends on how far out you are from your trip start date. If a host cancels, you'll receive a refund or travel credits. Pro tip: once you've narrowed down your dates around Discovery Park of America visits or a UT Martin Skyhawks weekend, book early since cancellation flexibility is strongest the further out you are from departure.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving one around Martin?

Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup covering hookups, the dump valve, the generator, and driving tips, and you can message them anytime during your trip. Popular routes include heading north to Paducah, KY and Land Between the Lakes, west into Missouri's Mark Twain country, or south through Memphis. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. Cross-border travel to Canada may be possible with host approval and proper paperwork. Pro tip: message the host with your route before booking so everyone's aligned on the plan.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Martin RV trip?

Fuel is the biggest variable in your Martin RV budget. West Tennessee gas prices typically run close to or below the national average. Travel trailers don't burn fuel themselves but reduce a tow vehicle's MPG to around 10-12. Class C motorhomes average 8-12 MPG, Class A motorhomes around 6-9 MPG, and Class B campervans can reach 17-20 MPG. For a long weekend loop to Reelfoot Lake and Kentucky Lake (about 200 miles round trip), expect to spend roughly $60 to $100 in a Class C at current prices. Pro tip: fill up in Martin or Union City before heading into Land Between the Lakes, where stations are sparse.

How far ahead should I book campgrounds near Martin?

For Tennessee State Parks like Reelfoot Lake and Paris Landing, you can reserve up to 12 months in advance through the official Tennessee State Parks reservation system, and popular summer weekends fill 3 to 6 months out. Land Between the Lakes campgrounds (Piney, Hillman Ferry) book through Recreation.gov on a 6-month rolling window. Private parks in nearby Union City and Paris are often more flexible with same-week availability. Pro tip: for the December-February bald eagle season at Reelfoot Lake, book by early November, and for the West Tennessee Strawberry Festival weekend in early May, lock things in by February.

What are the local driving conditions like around Martin, TN?

Driving an RV around Martin is refreshingly easy compared to mountain or big-city destinations. The terrain is gently rolling West Tennessee farmland, top routes like US-45E, US-45W, and TN-22 are wide and well-maintained, and Martin has light traffic outside of UT Martin move-in weekends. Watch for occasional farm equipment on rural roads in spring and fall, deer crossings at dawn and dusk, and strong crosswinds during summer thunderstorms. Bridges over the Obion River bottoms can ice in January. Pro tip: avoid driving during severe weather watches, especially during the tornado-prone March through May window, and use a NOAA weather radio or your phone for alerts.

Land Between the Lakes' Piney Campground offers a mix of electric/water sites and primitive options. Private parks in Union City and Paris typically include full hookups plus Wi-Fi and laundry. Pro tip: most Tennessee State Parks have a free public dump station where you can also top off freshwater. Always carry a 25-foot drinking-water hose and a sewer hose support.

How do payments and the security deposit work for a Martin RV rental?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy with a credit or debit card during checkout, and the booking payment is processed according to RVezy's standard schedule. The security deposit is a separate temporary hold (typically a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars depending on the RV) that's released after the trip if there's no damage, excess mileage, or missed cleaning. You'll never hand cash to your host. Pro tip: do a quick walk-around video at pickup and dropoff of your campervan rental Martin, note the fuel level and generator hours, and you'll almost always get your full deposit back within a few days.

Where can I park or stay overnight in an RV in Martin, TN?

Where to park an RV in Martin is easier than you'd think. Overnight RV parking in city limits is generally restricted to designated campgrounds and RV parks, not residential streets or city lots. The closest full-hookup options are private parks in nearby Union City (about 12 miles north), plus Reelfoot Lake State Park to the northwest and Paris Landing State Park to the east. Some Walmart locations across West Tennessee allow free one-night stays for self-contained RVs with manager permission, though policies vary by store. Pro tip: for a quiet base in town, ask your RVezy host about driveway-stay options or a family RV trip Martin package with delivery to a private property.
