We had a fantastic experience with Obi’s RV. It is a great RV, in excellent condition and really easy to drive and stay in. It is comfortable and spacious and Obi’s communication was excellent. Both he and his wife are lovely people and were incredibly helpful and thoughtful throughout the whole experience from booking through to return. I would highly recommend.

🌄 Our First RV Adventure—10 Days of Fun & Freedom! - This was our very first RV vacation, and while we were a little hesitant at first, Bill made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. He was incredibly helpful—available before, during, and even after our trip to answer questions and offer support. His thorough walkthrough before we hit the road gave us confidence, especially with tips on what to do in different situations. We took the RV for 10 days from South Florida to the mountains of Maryland, stopping at six different campgrounds and even plugging in at my sister’s and in-laws’ homes for a few nights. The RV had everything we needed and was in great shape—clean, well-equipped, and surprisingly easy to drive. We returned it with just a minor hubcap issue and no other problems, which felt like a blessing after such a big trip. We had an absolute blast and would highly recommend this RV to anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable, and fun way to travel. Thanks again, Bill!

Far and away a better experience than we could have hoped for. Sassy was the PERFECT RV for us. Very clean, adequate space (2 adults and a dog), well stocked with useful items and just all around fantastic. We traveled from CT to West Virginia, the trip just wouldn't have been the same without such comfortable accommodations. The couple was informative and incredibly flexible and accommodating with our unique schedule. We truly cannot say enough good things about our experience. We're already beginning to plan our next trip with Sassy. Thanks so much!!

Hibiscus was amazing! It was nice and clean when we rented it and was fully stocked with everything you would need while camping dished, cookwares, silverware, and even chairs and an outdoor rug! Gary and his wife made sure that we would have a great trip. It was super easy to hook it up and the camp grounds. It drove great and was easier than expected and got even better gas mileage than we expected. I will most definitely be booking with Gary again in the future!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Lansdowne, VA

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Lansdowne, VA?

An RV rental in Lansdowne is one of the most flexible ways to explore Northern Virginia, with options to fit nearly any budget. On RVezy, towable trailers near Lansdowne and Leesburg typically average around $125 to $175 per night, while motorhomes generally run $200 to $300 per night, and many hosts offer 10 to 20 percent discounts on weekly or monthly stays. For a cheap RV rental in Lansdowne, filter by travel trailers and book midweek in spring or late fall. Pro tip: bundling a weeklong booking with a host who includes extras like generator hours or camp chairs often beats stacking add-ons one by one.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Lansdowne, Virginia?

Good news for first-time renters: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Lansdowne, Virginia. Virginia does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal-use motorhomes, Class C rigs, campervans, or travel trailers you'll find on RVezy. RVezy approved drivers are generally 25 or older, and your ID is verified inside the platform during booking, so there's no paperwork to chase down. Visiting from abroad? Pick up an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home auto association before you fly in, and you're ready to head toward Shenandoah or the Blue Ridge.

Is the RV covered if something goes wrong on my Lansdowne trip?

Yes, every RV rental in Lansdowne booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can drive away with real peace of mind. What if my plans change after I book an RV in Lansdowne?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy for every reservation, so you don't have to negotiate with the host. There's a grace period right after booking when you can cancel for a full refund, and after that your refund depends on how close you are to your trip start date. Special situations like natural disasters are reviewed by the RVezy team. The same rules apply whether you're renting a campervan in Lansdowne for a Leesburg wine weekend or a Class C for a week in Shenandoah. Review the current cancellation policy on RVezy before you confirm and book with confidence.

Can I bring my dog on an RV rental in Lansdowne, VA?

Absolutely, and you have plenty of options for a pet-friendly RV rental in Lansdowne. Toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see only listings where furry co-pilots are welcome; any pet fee is shown upfront. Loudoun County is unusually dog-friendly: Red Rock Wilderness Overlook Regional Park has riverside trails just minutes from Lansdowne, and the W&OD Trail is leashed-dog heaven for morning walks. For overnight stays, the Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA welcomes pets at its RV sites. Pack a tie-out and a towel for muddy Potomac paws, and you're set.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite or driveway in Lansdowne?

Yes, RV delivery in Lansdowne is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers who'd rather skip driving a big rig through Northern Virginia traffic. Many local hosts will deliver the RV straight to your campground, a friend's driveway in Ashburn or Leesburg, or an event venue along the Potomac, then level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system. Delivery fees are set by each host and depend on distance, often quoted as a flat fee or per-mile rate shown on the listing. It's the easiest way to enjoy a Lansdowne RV trip without ever touching the steering wheel.

From Lansdowne you're about 35 miles to Washington DC, 60 miles to Harpers Ferry, 70 miles to Shenandoah National Park's Front Royal entrance, and roughly 90 miles to Gettysburg. The Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA Holiday is around 30 miles north with full hookups and a pool. For a national park feel, Greenbrier State Park in Maryland is under an hour away. Pro tip: overnight parking in Loudoun County retail lots is generally not allowed, so always book a real campsite.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Lansdowne?

The sweet spot for an RV road trip from Lansdowne is mid-April through late June and again from early September through the end of October, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 65 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit range and humidity stays lower. Fall is especially spectacular: peak foliage along Skyline Drive usually arrives in mid to late October, just an hour west. July and August are warm and humid (mid-80s to low 90s) but great for river camping. Winters are mild compared to most of the country, with average highs in the 40s, so a winter RV getaway to Luray Caverns or the Loudoun wineries is totally doable.

I've never driven an RV. Will I be okay starting from Lansdowne?

You're going to do great, and Lansdowne is a friendly launchpad for first time renting an RV. Every RVezy host gives you an in-person orientation at pickup, walking you through driving, the generator, water systems, and dumping, so you never feel left in the dark. If you're nervous about navigating the Dulles Toll Road or Route 7, ask your host about delivery and they'll bring the rig to your campground. Choose a smaller Class C motorhome or a campervan rental in Lansdowne to start, head west on Route 7 toward open countryside instead of east toward DC, and you'll find your confidence within the first hour.

What happens if the RV breaks down during my Loudoun County trip?

You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so a flat tire on the Dulles Greenway, a dead battery at a Leesburg winery, or a tow off Route 15 is one phone call away, day or night. Your host is also typically available by message for quick questions about quirks of their specific RV, and RVezy's customer support team is reachable before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number and your reservation details on your phone before you leave the driveway, so help is at your fingertips even if cell service dips in the Blue Ridge.

Can I take my Lansdowne RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, cross-state travel is welcome and one of the best parts of an RV road trip from Lansdowne. You're perfectly positioned to roll into Maryland (15 miles to the Potomac crossing), West Virginia (30 miles to Harpers Ferry), Pennsylvania (90 miles to Gettysburg), or down to the Outer Banks in North Carolina, all within US insurance coverage. Travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host and protection plan, so message the host first if that's your plan. One important note: travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental, since insurance coverage does not extend across that border.

What should I budget for fuel on a Lansdowne RV trip?

Fuel is easier to predict than most people think. Class C motorhomes typically average 8 to 12 miles per gallon, campervans get 16 to 20 mpg, and if you're towing a travel trailer with your own truck you'll see 10 to 14 mpg. Virginia gas prices generally run a bit below the national average, with several stations along Route 7 in Leesburg offering competitive diesel and regular. For a round trip from Lansdowne to Shenandoah National Park (about 150 miles), figure roughly $50 to $75 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: GasBuddy and the Costco in Leesburg are your friends for the cheapest fill-ups before you leave town.

How far ahead should I book campgrounds near Lansdowne?

Book early and you'll have your pick of the best sites. Shenandoah National Park campgrounds (Big Meadows, Mathews Arm, Loft Mountain) open on Recreation.gov six months in advance and weekend sites for October foliage sell out within minutes, so set a calendar reminder. Virginia State Parks like Sky Meadows are reservable through ReserveVAParks.com up to 11 months ahead. Private parks like Watermelon Park and the Harpers Ferry KOA usually have availability 2 to 4 weeks out midweek but fill on summer weekends. Pro tip for a family RV trip in Lansdowne: lock the campsite first, then book your RV on RVezy, so dates always match up.

What are the driving conditions like around Lansdowne?

Lansdowne sits in a sweet spot: rural feel with easy highway access, and roads here are well-maintained and RV-friendly. Route 7 and the Dulles Greenway are wide and straightforward, perfect for easing into your first time behind the wheel. Avoid rush hour heading east toward Tysons and DC (roughly 6 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.) and you'll have smooth sailing. Watch the posted clearance on a few older Loudoun County underpasses, and be aware that the Dulles Toll Road and Dulles Greenway use E-ZPass (your host can advise on the transponder). Heading west into the Blue Ridge, expect curvy two-lane roads, beautiful scenery, and slower truck-friendly speeds.

What hookups and amenities do campgrounds near Lansdowne offer?

You'll find plenty of full-service options for RV camping in Lansdowne and the surrounding area. Private parks like Cherry Hill Park (about 30 miles east in College Park, MD) and the Harpers Ferry KOA offer full hookups: 30 or 50-amp electric, water, and sewer at the site, plus dump stations, laundry, and Wi-Fi. Bull Run Regional Park has electric and water hookups with a centralized dump station. Most Virginia State Parks also let you use their dump station for a small fee. Pro tip: arrive with empty black and gray tanks to maximize your stay, and confirm hookup details directly on each campground's reservation page before you book.

What's actually inside the RVs available in Lansdowne?

You'll be pleasantly surprised. Most RV rentals in Lansdowne come fully equipped: real beds with linens often included, a kitchen with a fridge, stove, microwave, sink, and cookware, an indoor bathroom with a shower and toilet, climate control, and seatbelted seating for everyone listed in the booking. Many listings include a generator (so you can run AC off-grid), a TV, and even Wi-Fi hotspots, all visible in the listing's amenities section. Campervans are more compact but cleverly designed, while Class C motorhomes and travel trailers from Lansdowne hosts comfortably sleep families of four to six. Filter by sleeps count and amenities on RVezy to find the exact setup you want.

What add-ons and pickup options are available for Lansdowne RV rentals?

Hosts in Lansdowne offer a great range of add-ons to make your trip turnkey. Common options include linen and towel packages, camp chairs and outdoor tables, fire pits, bike racks, paddleboards, generators, extra propane, and Starlink or hotspot Wi-Fi, all priced clearly on the listing. Pickup is usually at the host's home or a meet-up point in the Lansdowne, Ashburn, or Leesburg area, with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough so you leave confident. If you'd rather skip the pickup entirely, RV delivery in Lansdowne is widely offered and includes setup at your campsite. Daily mileage policies and generator hour limits are listed upfront, so there are zero surprises.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy (never directly to the host), and your booking total includes the nightly rate, service fee, protection plan, and any add-ons you've selected, all itemized before you confirm. A refundable security deposit is placed as a hold on your card a few days before pickup and released after the trip, assuming the RV comes back in the same condition it left. To avoid any deposit issues on your Lansdowne RV rental, do a quick photo walkthrough at pickup and drop-off, return with a full fuel tank, and dump the tanks (or pay the host's optional dump fee). That's it, you're done.

Lansdowne is a launching pad for some of the East Coast's best RV adventures. Shenandoah National Park's Front Royal entrance is about 50 miles west, putting Skyline Drive's 105 miles of overlooks within easy reach.
