2022 Jayco Travel Trailer
Renting Brandon's 2022 Jayco Jay Feather Micro 199mbs was an awesome and smooth experience! He was super flexible with the pickup, and drop-off time. This was my first time renting a camper trailer and to be honest, it was kind of overwhelming at first, but Brandon walked me through every detail and put all of my concerns to rest. He was also available for any and all questions and responded immediately. There were quite a few features on this trailer, and with his help, I'm now an experienced trailer camper! He's also super friendly and professional. Furthermore, I requested a few add-ons that made the experience even better: we got the fishing, smores and inflatable SUP kit add-ons. The inflatable paddle board was of amazing quality, it was hard to believe it was just inflatable. Now I want one for myself. Brandon was on point and I'm already looking for an excuse to rent it again from him. My Family didn't want to leave the trailer and I wish I had rented it for longer.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Cokeville, WY

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Cokeville, WY?

RV rental in Cokeville is genuinely affordable compared to most western destinations, since you're in a small Lincoln County town surrounded by public land. Expect roughly $95 to $175 per night for travel trailers, $135 to $225 for Class C motorhomes, and $200 or more for larger Class A rigs, with most hosts adding a cleaning fee and a per-mile rate beyond the daily allowance. For a cheap RV rental Cokeville travelers love, book mid-week in June or September when nightly rates dip. Pro tip: bundle a 5 to 7 night booking, many hosts offer weekly discounts that beat two back-to-back weekends.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Cokeville?

Good news, a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Cokeville for almost every rig on the RVezy platform. Wyoming only requires a Class B non-commercial license if the motorhome's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) exceeds 26,000 pounds, and the vast majority of Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, travel trailers and fifth wheels rented through RVezy fall well under that threshold. You'll need to be 25 or older and upload your license through the RVezy ID verification step during checkout. Visiting from abroad? Grab an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home auto association before you fly in and you're ready to roll out of Cokeville.

What protection is included when I book an RV in Cokeville?

Every RVezy booking in Cokeville automatically includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you're covered from the moment you pull out of the host's driveway. The protection plan covers most physical damage to the RV, and you choose your coverage level (not the host) during checkout, giving you control over your peace of mind. That matters on a Wyoming RV trip where you might be 45 minutes from the nearest tow truck near Cokeville Meadows National Wildlife Refuge or the Salt River Range. Pro tip: pick a higher coverage tier if you're a first-time renter, the small upcharge buys a lot of confidence on mountain passes.

What if my Cokeville plans change, can I cancel my RV rental?

Yes. RVezy sets a standard cancellation policy for every booking (hosts don't choose it), and there's a full money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your dates without stress. After the grace period, refund amounts depend on how far out you are from your trip start date. If a natural disaster like a wildfire closure or winter storm along US-30 impacts your Cokeville RV trip, reach out to RVezy support and they'll work with you. Pro tip: book early to secure summer dates around Bear Lake's Raspberry Days, then relax knowing you have flexibility built in.

Can I bring my dog on an RV rental in Cokeville?

Yes, pet-friendly RV rental Cokeville options are easy to find, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see hosts who welcome dogs (and sometimes cats too). Many western Wyoming owners are ranchers and outdoors people themselves, so they get it. Your pup will love this corner of the state: Cokeville Meadows National Wildlife Refuge has open trails just south of town, and most U.S. Forest Service campgrounds in the Bridger-Teton like Hobble Creek allow leashed dogs. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee, then pack a tie-out cable and extra water, summer afternoons in the Bear River Valley can hit the upper 70s and shade is limited.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or cabin near Cokeville?

Yes, RV delivery in Cokeville is one of the smartest ways to start your trip, especially if you're flying into Salt Lake City or Jackson Hole and don't want to drive a motorhome yourself. Many hosts will deliver and set up at campgrounds in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, at sites along the Salt River in Star Valley, or directly to a private cabin in Afton or near Bear Lake. Delivery fees are typically based on distance, and the host handles leveling, hookups, and your walkthrough on-site. Pro tip: filter listings by Delivery on RVezy, then message two or three hosts with your exact campsite to compare quotes, it's the easiest first-time RV rental experience you'll find.

How far can I drive on an RV trip from Cokeville?

Cokeville is one of the best RV launch points in the Rockies, with several iconic destinations within a half day's drive. Bear Lake is about 45 miles south, Jackson and the Tetons are roughly 130 miles north via US-89, Yellowstone's south entrance is around 185 miles, Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area is about 150 miles southeast, and Salt Lake City is roughly 165 miles south. Hosts set their own mileage policies, and you'll see daily allowances ranging from 100 to 250 miles, with some offering RV rental with unlimited mileage. Pro tip: if you're planning a big loop, message the host upfront so you can prepay a mileage bundle at a discount.

Where are the best campgrounds near Cokeville to park my RV?

The best campgrounds near Cokeville offer a mix of forest, river and lake settings within an hour's drive. Hobble Creek Campground in the Bridger-Teton National Forest sits east of town and fits mid-sized RVs. Heading south, Bear Lake State Park on the Utah side and Bear Lake North KOA in Garden City both offer full hookups. For an in-town overnight, the Hideout Motel & RV Park right on US-30 has electric sites. Pro tip: reserve Bear Lake and Bridger-Teton sites 4 to 6 months ahead for July weekends through Recreation.gov or the state park system, they fill fast.

When is the best time to take an RV trip from Cokeville?

Late June through mid-September is the sweet spot for an RV trip from Cokeville, when daytime highs sit comfortably between 70 and 80 degrees F and the high-mountain campgrounds in the Bridger-Teton are fully open. Cokeville sits above 6,200 feet, so May nights can still drop into the 30s and snow lingers on mountain passes into early June. September delivers cool nights, golden aspens along Salt River Pass, and far fewer crowds at Bear Lake. Pro tip: target the second and third weeks of September for the best motorhome rental Cokeville weather, cool enough to sleep great, warm enough for shorts at midday.
weather.gov/riw/

Are RVs available to rent in Cokeville during winter?

Yes, a winter RV rental in Cokeville is doable, and some hosts on RVezy specifically equip their rigs for cold weather with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and propane furnaces. Cokeville winters are cold: January averages a high near 30 degrees F and lows in the single digits, with snow on the ground much of the season, so plan to park at a campground or private site with shore power (30 or 50 amp) to keep furnaces and water systems happy. Snowmobiling on the nearby Wyoming Range and Bear Lake ice fishing are excellent. Pro tip: ask your host to top off the propane and demo the winter water procedure before pickup.

I've never driven an RV before, will I be okay in Cokeville?

You'll be just fine, Cokeville is genuinely one of the easier places in the West to try renting an RV for the first time. The town sits along US-30 with wide shoulders, light traffic, and no stoplights. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup covering leveling, hookups, slides, the generator and dumping tanks, and shares their contact info so you can message questions on the road. Start with a Class C motorhome or a smaller travel trailer if you're nervous, both drive more like a big truck than a bus. Pro tip: spend your first night somewhere close like Hobble Creek so you can practice setup with the host still reachable.

What happens if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?

You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so a flat tire on US-30, a dead battery at Hobble Creek, or a tow out of the Salt River Range is one phone call away. Your host is a direct line for rig-specific questions (which propane valve to turn, how the awning retracts), and RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after every trip. Cell service can drop between Cokeville and Afton along the Salt River Range, so screenshot your booking details and the roadside assistance number before you head into canyon country. Pro tip: keep a paper map of Lincoln County in the glovebox, locals still swear by them.

Can I take my Cokeville RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, interstate travel is welcomed on most RVezy rentals from Cokeville, which is a big perk because you're about 12 miles from the Idaho border and a short drive from Utah. Popular crossings include US-30 west into Montpelier, ID and US-89 south to Bear Lake, UT. Cross-border travel into Canada is sometimes allowed depending on the specific host and insurance setup, so message the host before booking to confirm. Travel into Mexico is not permitted because insurance coverage doesn't extend there. Pro tip: a classic RV road trip from Cokeville loops north into the Tetons, west through Idaho's Caribou-Targhee forest, and south to Bear Lake, three states in five days.

What's the fuel budget look like for an RV trip around Cokeville?

Fuel is one of the biggest line items, but it's predictable once you know the numbers. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 mpg, Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 mpg, and Class A rigs sit around 6 to 9 mpg. Gas prices in Lincoln County, Wyoming typically run a bit below the U.S. average. Cokeville itself has a Sinclair station on US-30, but the cheapest fuel is usually 12 miles west in Montpelier, ID, fill up there before heading deeper into Wyoming where stations get sparse between Cokeville and Afton. Pro tip: budget around $0.40 to $0.60 per mile for fuel on a Class C, and use GasBuddy to pre-plan stops.

How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Cokeville?

For peak summer (mid-June through Labor Day), book popular sites 4 to 6 months ahead through Recreation.gov for U.S. Forest Service campgrounds in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, and through the relevant state park system for Bear Lake State Park. Smaller private parks like the Hideout in Cokeville and RV parks in Kemmerer often have same-week availability even in July. Shoulder season (late May, September) is much more flexible. Pro tip: build your route around your one or two hardest-to-book campgrounds first, then fill in the easier nights, that's the trick locals use for RV camping Cokeville style.
recreation.gov/

What are the driving conditions like around Cokeville?

Driving around Cokeville is refreshingly low-stress for an RV, US-30 and US-89 are well-maintained two-lane highways with wide shoulders and minimal traffic. Watch for three things: wildlife (deer, antelope and the occasional moose crossing at dawn and dusk along the Bear River Valley), elevation (you're at 6,234 feet, climbing to 7,630 feet over Salt River Pass on US-89 north toward Afton, so gear down on descents), and sudden weather (afternoon thunderstorms in summer, black ice from October through April). Cokeville has no traffic lights and no urban driving hazards. Pro tip: check WYDOT's 511 road conditions site every morning before you roll, especially shoulder seasons.

Where can I dump tanks and fill fresh water near Cokeville?

You've got several reliable options within easy range. The Hideout RV Park in Cokeville on US-30 has on-site amenities for guests. Montpelier Creek KOA, about 20 miles west in Idaho, has a dump station and potable water fill for guests. Bear Lake State Park (both the Idaho and Utah sides) offers dump stations included with camping. RV parks in Kemmerer (about 35 miles east) have full hookups and dump access. Most U.S. Forest Service campgrounds in the Bridger-Teton have vault toilets and potable water but no sewer hookups, so plan a dump stop every 3 to 5 days. Pro tip: top off fresh water before heading into Greys River backcountry, it's a long way to the next spigot.
fs.usda.gov/btnf

What features and amenities come with a typical Cokeville RV rental?

Most RVs you'll see for rent in Cokeville come ready to camp, expect a queen or king bed, dinette and/or sofa that converts to extra sleeping, a kitchen with propane stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, and a wet or dry bathroom with shower and toilet. Larger Class C and Class A motorhomes typically include a roof AC, propane furnace, generator, TV, and most hosts now include basic Wi-Fi hotspots or starter kits. Seatbelt counts vary by rig, so if you're traveling with kids, double-check the listing's sleeps and seatbelts numbers. Pro tip: at 6,200+ feet elevation, nights get cold even in July, so confirm the furnace works during your walkthrough, you'll use it.
nhtsa.gov/road-safety/recreational-vehicles

What add-ons and extras can I get with my Cokeville RV rental?

Hosts in this corner of Wyoming love to make trips easy, common add-ons include camp chairs and outdoor rugs ($10 to $25), bedding and linen packages ($40 to $75), kitchen kits with pots and utensils, portable generators, propane fire pits (huge in summer when fire bans hit Lincoln County), bike racks, fishing gear, and even SUP boards for Bear Lake. Pickup is usually at the host's home in or near Cokeville, with delivery available for a per-mile fee. Mileage policies range from 100 to 250 miles per day on average, with some offering unlimited. Pro tip: bundle add-ons during booking rather than at pickup, hosts often discount the package and you avoid a frantic Walmart run in Montpelier.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure, you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit card at booking (never directly to the host in cash), which protects both sides. A refundable security deposit is placed as a temporary hold on your card before pickup, with the amount set by the listing, and it's released after the trip assuming no damage or excess mileage charges. To avoid surprises, do a thorough walkthrough video at pickup and dropoff with your host, and refill propane and the gas tank to the levels noted in your agreement. Pro tip: use a credit card with a high limit so the deposit hold doesn't crowd your trip spending.
