Campgrounds and RV parks near Metro Vancouver A, BC

Metro Vancouver A is an electoral area on British Columbia's south coast that includes the University Endowment Lands and parts of the North Shore mountains, sitting at the edge of one of Canada's largest urban regions. RV travelers use it as a base for the coastal rainforest, Howe Sound waterfront, and the start of the Sea-to-Sky Highway toward Whistler. Capilano RV Park is the closest option to downtown, a full-service urban park in West Vancouver just off Highway 1 near the north end of the Lions Gate Bridge. For a provincial-park experience on Howe Sound, Porteau Cove Provincial Park sits about 38 kilometres north of Vancouver on Highway 99, with drive-in and walk-in waterfront sites. Inland alternatives include Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground Vancouver for transit-friendly access to the city, Anmore Camp and RV Park for a quieter forested setting near Buntzen Lake, and Langdale Heights RV Par 3 Golf Resort on the Sunshine Coast, reached by ferry from Horseshoe Bay.

Provincial park sites, including Porteau Cove, are booked through the BC Parks reservation system at camping.bcparks.ca. For the current season, BC Parks uses a three-month rolling window: reservations open exactly three months before the arrival date at 7 a.m. Pacific time, and popular waterfront sites at Porteau Cove are often gone within minutes of release. Reservations require a credit card and non-refundable transaction fees, and a non-resident surcharge applies to visitors from outside British Columbia during the main season. Private parks such as Capilano RV Park, Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground Vancouver, Anmore Camp and RV Park, and Langdale Heights RV Par 3 Golf Resort are booked directly through each operator's website or by phone. For summer weekends and long weekends, several months of lead time is a realistic target for full-hookup sites close to the city.
