Campgrounds and RV parks near Sainte-Thérèse-de-Gaspé, QC

The main draw is Parc national de l'Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé, reached by passenger boat from Percé village and home to one of the largest northern gannet colonies in the world. Hiking and cycling routes follow the coast on Route 132, and the Pabos footbridge links Chandler and Pabos Mills. Espace NAPAGA at Bourg de Pabos combines a sandy beach, river mouths, and a designated heritage archaeological site with on-site exhibits and trails. Whale-watching cruises, sea kayaking, and deep-sea fishing run out of Percé in summer. The fishing harbour at Sainte-Thérèse-de-Gaspé itself is a working port for snow crab and lobster, useful for fresh seafood. Forillon National Park lies about an hour northeast for longer day trips.

The Gaspé camping season is short. Most private campgrounds along this stretch of Route 132 open between early May and mid-June and close between late September and mid-October. Camping Cote Surprise operates seasonally from May 10 to October 10, while Camping Du Parc du Bourg de Pabos ran from May 15 to September 30 in its most recent season. July and August are peak season: warmest weather, gannet colony at full activity, and highest demand for serviced sites. The Quebec construction holiday in late July drives the heaviest two weeks of bookings. June and early September are shoulder periods with cooler nights, fewer crowds, and easier walk-in availability. The maritime influence also means the area can experience foggy conditions, particularly in the mornings and near coastal areas. By late September overnight temperatures drop sharply, services wind down, and winter conditions set in by November. The area is not set up for off-season RV camping.

Hookups vary by site: 30-amp electrical service, water, and sewer are common at full-service pads, while wooded and tent-only sites are usually unserviced. Bring layers, rain gear, and bug protection, especially in June.
