Campgrounds and RV parks near Milton, DE

Milton sits in inland Sussex County, Delaware, roughly ten miles from the Atlantic beaches at Lewes and Rehoboth. The town borders Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge, a large coastal marsh known for bird watching and diverse habitats. That inland-but-close-to-the-coast position makes it a practical RV base: campgrounds sit in quieter pine and farmland settings, but the beaches, boardwalks, and state parks are a short drive east. The closest options include Deep Branch Family Campground and Tall Pines Campground Resort, both within a few miles of town, plus Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: Delaware Beaches for families wanting on-site pools and activities. Holly Lake Campsites sits a bit further out, and Redden State Forest offers primitive tent-only camping in a managed pine forest north of Georgetown. The wider coastal region around Milton mixes state parks and private campgrounds oriented toward beach access, with Cape Henlopen State Park in nearby Lewes offering tent sites, RV hookups, cabins, and yurts in a forested setting that provides shade uncommon at other coastal sites.

Private campgrounds around Milton, including Deep Branch Family Campground, Tall Pines Campground Resort, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: Delaware Beaches, and Holly Lake Campsites, take direct bookings through their own websites or by phone. Summer weekends and holiday stretches book earliest, so lock in dates before spring. Delaware State Parks, which run the nearest public campgrounds at Cape Henlopen and Delaware Seashore, use a single reservation system. Reservations may be made up to one year prior to arrival date, same day for tent and RV sites, and one day prior for cottages, cabins, and yurts. Camping is permitted for a maximum of 14 days within a 21-day period per park. Redden State Forest north of Georgetown offers primitive-style camping year round by online reservation at de.gov/forestcamping, with a three-night maximum stay. State forests allow tent camping only: pickup campers, travel trailers, and motorhomes are excluded due to access and parking limitations.
